Character discussion No offense, but Bernadette's kitchen is a disaster

Post image

I mean, it looks great, but it is nearly unusable space. There is no proper kitchen work triangle for efficiency, and the only traffic route is right through it. The table is in everybody's way so much that Stewart can't even fully open the oven door. I've never seen them do dishes, but the sink is in no-man's land and that island which is never used is in the way. Where Howard is on the right is the small appliance center, but it seems to be where most of the food prep is done, too. The plates are there, as well, far away from the dishwasher and sink.

Relevant to me The Cheesecake Factory decor

For those who don't follow the news, The Cheesecake Factory has been in the news lately because former president Obama used it as an example of cheap ostentatiousness and compared it the proposed White House ballroom in the east wing.

This reminded me that I have always found TBBT's depiction of The Cheesecake Factory to be unrealistic in the sense that nothing that we see on screen would peg the on-screen restaurant as a Cheesecake Factory as opposed to a Perkin's or a Denny's or an IHOP or any other chain restaurant. The set is not ostentatious at all.

Has anyone else given this any thought?

Episode discussion Penny and Leonard always had feelings for each other since the moment they saw each other

Post image

I know they did date other people in between but tye characters in show also said that; like Howard said Leonard always has feelings for Penny which is true.

Yes I don't like some things tho; like how Leonard cheated on Priya even tho he thought that was half cheating, and did same half cheating with Penny. (He thought not me)

But else they're like crazy people who secretly love each other.

In season 5 episode 13 both imagined outcomes of their date and they were hilarious, especially Penny's thought🤣🤣

Edit: okay Penny didn’t have love at first sight but it was kinda quick; I mean she started liking him after few episodes. Like how she told Leonard she heard he likes something( she didn't say something but I don't remember what the word was so I used something)

Episode discussion Halloween Episode featuring Buzz Aldrin

So, it’s Halloween week, and I thought I’d watch The Big Bang Theory Halloween episodes.

To my knowledge, there are four Halloween episodes:

  • Season 1 - The Middle-Earth Paradigm
    • The gang shows up to Penny's party way to early and Leonard gets into a fight with Penny's ex.
  • Season 5 - The Good Guy Fluctuation
    • Raj, Howard, and Leonard decide to play a series of pranks to scare Sheldon
  • Season 6 - The Holographic Excitation
    • Couple Costumes and Howard makes sure to let everyone know he is an Astronaut.
  • Season 12 - The Imitation Perturbation
    • Howard dresses up as Sheldon.

I get to the Season 6 episode, and while I know it's only a 30-second clip at the end, I'm amazed that not only did Buzz Aldrin agree to appear in an episode, but he also agreed to play along with Howard's obnoxiousness. The first time watching this episode, I did cringe multiple times.

The clip I am referencing to:

Just wondering what everyone else thought about this episode, particularly the ending.

Episode discussion The adhesive ducks deficiency

the adhesive ducks defiency has to be one of the funniest episodes of the show especially when the guys are camping and are high but Sheldon and Penny's adventure is funny as well.

Thoughts?

Character discussion Why on earth did Sheldon need/want a roommate?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

I understand it is effectively a plot device but:

This is a huge 2-bedroom apt in Pasadena, its not like having a roommate here is any cheaper than a much smaller 1-bed. Even if it were cheaper, Sheldon also clearly does well financially. I am aware than Professors are not exactly raking in cash but multiple times throughout the show they have shown Sheldon's surplus of cash and his general disregard for money in general.

He is in his 30s and has the personality type of someone who would want to live alone. I'm not saying he is an outright loner, he obviously enjoys company, but he clearly likes things his way and I would imagine would do much better alone.

Idk if I am wrong but just something I was thinking about.

Edit: A lot of people have pointed out that he needs someone to drive him somewhere. I think this is the main reason. I think the companionship was definitely something he learned to love. But the reason he needed a roommate in the first place was to have a caretaker/chauffeur.

The platonic relationship between the two is one of my favorite in the show. The way Sheldon opens up to Penny and vice versa, their sister -brother bond is one the uniqueness of their friendship and the show itself

Still one of my top 10 episodes. “Don’t go in Sheldon’s room, he’s not wearing bottoms” and Penny hunting him down at the university by phone 😂 “Penny this is not a good time!”

Cast news or sighting I clearly remember at the end of the series The producers offered each of the main cast the opportunity to keep one item from the production. I only remember what Kaley Cuoco took. Any recollection on the others?

Other Who's your favorite recurring character in The Big Bang Theory?

Post image

Mine would probably be Wil Wheaton 😭😂 The way he went from being Sheldon's biggest opp to actually becoming one of his friends is so funny to me. Their beef was hilarious because Sheldon would take it SO seriously while Wil just kept messing with him. 💀 But seeing them actually become friends and support each other in the later seasons was so wholesome. Like, who would've thought we'd get character development from Sheldon's sworn enemy? 😭

Who's your favorite recurring or supporting character, and why?

Character discussion Sheldon went full circle here

I've watched several episodes of TBBT because I was married to someone who loved the show, but I was never able to watch it from S1 all the way to the finale while actually paying attention. After rewatching Friends and Modern Family hundreds of times, I needed a little "vacation" from them, so I decided to give TBBT a try. After all, I kinda know how it ends, and it always made me laugh.

So, this is the first time I'm actually following the show's story from beginning to end, and I feel like Sheldon comes full circle in this episode, both in his love for Amy and in his growing respect for Howard. Let me explain my point of view.

As for his friendship with Howard, Sheldon is always putting him down for not having a PhD, as if he doesn't care enough about engineering or isn't as accomplished as the others. It can be pretty harsh at times, and we can see how much it irritates Wolowitz. But Sheldon's reaction here, telling him to "boldly go, Wolowitz" as the rocket launches, shows that he does respect Howard, or at least that Howard has earned his respect. To me, it's an acknowledgment of just how significant what Howard is doing really is.

As for Amy, while Sheldon shows his admiration for Howard, he also reveals a very human kind of fear: someone he cares about is embarking on an incredibly difficult mission, and he knows that there's a real risk involved. Holding Amy's hand, even though their relationship agreement didn't call for it, shows just how much his love for her has grown by this point. He's become comfortable enough with her to express his feelings and seek comfort in her presence during a moment of fear and uncertainty.
To me, this was one of the most moving moments in the entire show, by far. I even cried a little. Beautiful.

Other The Big Bang Theory: Stuart’s Comic Book Store

Thumbnail gallery

Hi everyone!
I built Stuart’s Comic Book Store from The Big Bang Theory using LEGO bricks! 🧱
I wanted to recreate the shop with a studio-inspired display design, allowing the interior and its details to be viewed easily from the front.
The build also includes minifigures inspired by the show’s unique characters. I designed a removable display stand for the minifigures, so it can be taken off depending on how I want to display the model.
One of my goals was to capture the atmosphere of Stuart’s shop while making the build an interesting display piece for LEGO and TV show fans.
