Discussion Sheldon moments
Sheldon really loved his mom. How he made her believe again and always stuck by her even if they had different opinions and beliefs is truly under rated.

Opinion Underrated Scene
I don't even know for how long I kept laughing when I saw this scene. It was so funny that Georgie didn't pay Billy Sparks $2 because he only wanted oneššššš¤£š¤£

Discussion I hate the treatment Missy in the fandom
By the fandom as well. Some people say āoh but when Mary tried to bond or talk with Missy she rejected herā what would you do if someone who constantly ignored you and blamed you for things suddenly tried to bond with you? Itās natural of Missy to be suspicious. And trying to bond with her doesnāt erase the MOUNTAIN of emotional neglect. I believe that Mary really does love Missy, but that doesnāt make her a good mother. Her favoritism towards Sheldon is a bright red sign. Also people seem to forget that Missy is a CHILD, an emotionally neglected child who naturally acts out. Mary is the parent, Missy is the child, responsibility is NOT equal. People seem to love to overlook what emotional neglect can do and I HATE that.
I am a special needs who is highly dependent on my mom, but my mom still doesnāt overlook my sisters or emotionally neglect them or forget them or anything, she treats us all how we need to be treated, and I am not the center of attention just because I need more. Mary CAN do better, and it is entirely on her that she doesnāt

Opinion Who else feels that Mary was a better mother to Sheldon than Georgie and Missy?
Mary was a very complicated yet messy mother. She favored Sheldon in a very obvious way. She treated Missy like crap, constantly calling her a brat or yelling at her when she was visible upset and would almsot always take Sheldon side even when he was more wrong than right. She is partly to blame to why Sheldon grew up so entitled and spoiled. George and Mee Maw also would favored him a bit too much but way less than Mary.

Looks like Jana is going to be on a future episode of Georgie & Mandy.
instagram.comAva Allan who played Jana was on the Georgie & Mandy set today for preshoots. They're shooting the episode tomorrow night. Maybe they're going to do a storyline where Jana tries to steal Georgie from Mandy. Or maybe she gets a job at the preschool where CeeCee attends.

Opinion Finally watched
I watched the last few episodes and I was not prepared for Georgeās death. That absolutely wrecked me. Every one on the planet knew he died when Sheldon was young. But damn did they just write perfect episodes leading up to and including those two. Damn my allergies š

Question The Geiger Girls
In the Big Bang Theory, Leonard mentions a dietitian who works at the university named Olivia Geiger (he wanted to ask her out early in Season 1).
Today I realized Sheldon and Tam were in the Medford High library talking about 'males doing sketchy things to get females' and Tam mentioned Jessica Geiger.
Are the Geiger girls sisters, cousins, or is it just coincidence?

Big Bang Theory Remake to align with Young Sheldon?
Young Sheldon was so successful and well done, I wonder what the odds of a Big Bang Theory remake would be if it abandoned the currently established lore and followed a more natural character arc based on Young Sheldon?

News Young Sheldon star McKenna Grace jokes her character, Paige "would have killed" Sheldon if the show had ever made them a couple, according to a new behind-the-scenes book by Jessica Radloff.
"I can't imagine at that stage in their lives that she would have wanted to date Sheldon. I think she would have killed him. [Laughs] Though I do think there was a nice connection between the two, even though he was kind of a dingus when it came down to it."- Grace said in her interview excerpt.

Why does Connor look so different?
We see him for the first time in season 6 episode 12 in the baby shower episode but he looks like a completely different person than in Georgie and Mandyās first marriage

Opinion Am I the only one who doesn't like Missy?
It's ironic when the aim of the show is to highlight how Sheldon is annoying and the problem causer, but I just don't like Missy that much. (Especially in Georgie and Mandy's first marriage)

Question Show Timeline
Can someone help me with the timeline of the show? Here's what I understand so far:
- Season 1: 1989-1990 (a full academic year)
- Season 2: ???????
- Season 3: 1991 (the first half of the year=latter half of academic year)
- Season 4: 1991 (summer break & first half of academic year)
- Season 5: 1992 (the first half of the year=latter half of academic year)
- Season 6: 1992-1993 (a full academic year)
- Season 7: 1993-1994 (summer break & a full academic year)
As you can see, I'm completely baffled by Season 2. Here's why.
Season 2 can only logistically fit in the latter half of 1990, which does make sense, except that we get a Halloween episode. That in itself isn't an issue, but the finale revolves around Sheldon listening to the Nobel Prize ceremony. However, I looked it up, and the ceremony that he is listening to was the 1990 ceremony, broadcast in October that year, i.e. before the events of the Halloween episode.
Again, not an issue if we assume the two halves of Season 2 were happening concurrently, except Dr. Sturgis was present at that year's Thanksgiving. He had his mental breakdown the night of the ceremony, and went to a psychiatric ward, which would therefore have been before Halloween and Thanksgiving.
So as you can see, I'm baffled. Anyone have any suggestions that could make sense of this, other than it's a TV show and doesn't matter? Also, Sheldon being an unreliable narrator probably won't explain this, as this is a timeline issue, rather than a continuity issue.
Thanks.

Question George and Mandyās first laugh track
I loved the entirety of young Sheldon so so much, still rewatching occasionally. Big bang theory is decent, but itās a product of its time in my opinion, so itās hard to stomach sometimes, and Sheldon feels almost sociopathic lol. The main thing was the laugh track. Maybe itās because Iām 24, but itās always so jarring and odd.
What are everyoneās thoughts on the usage of it for George and Mandy? I saw a really comprehensive post further down that detailed how they have āan uphill battleā and I totally agreeā I think the laugh track only added to that struggle though.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand why on earth they decided to include one. The actors are all talented, but the chemistry and dialogue is so off and strange, it strips the charm of everyoneās personalities. Mandy specifically has a lovely onscreen presence that I feel was totally desaturated by the stylistic choice to film in front of an audience and on strange cheap sets.
It sucks because I do like the characters so much and want to follow their lives, but it truly makes me feel like Iām going crazy when I suddenly hear an entire crowd erupt from nowhere.
Also, I want to know what yall think about the performances. To me thereās this weird uncanny effect since I hopped over from a more immersive experience (young Sheldon.) while I think once again theyāre talented enough, this switch seems to be sort of a burden on their abilities. Idk.
Does it get better in later seasons? Is there somewhere I can stream it with the laugh track edited out?
Edit: I didnāt realize how many meemaws are here. No but you guys do have a point, thereās no new ācomplaintā under the sun, and I didnāt mean this to come off so negatively. A laugh track in and of itself doesnāt make something badā like I said here, because of how young I am, Iām just not used to it. I still praised the show, and acknowledged that coming from young Sheldon and expecting the same deal isnāt realistic. Still, as a viewer, Iām allowed to post opinions on things because the world does not revolve around your singular experience. To clarify in short; the laugh track doesnāt make it bad. Itās part of a sitcom style Iāve never interacted with in my adulthood, so itās naturally gonna be a little weird.
Regardless, I canāt argue with the tried and true ādonāt like it donāt watch it,ā and itās the approach Iāve taken.
Thank u to the one person mentioning itās a genuine live audience, thatās actually pretty interesting.
:p
