hi, I’m one of those dangling jerseyites. just wondering, does anyone think there might be something going on behind this delay? lost data or… idk, some other kind of issue? obviously no evidence suggests this, but I’m trying to imagine what may be behind the unusual lateness.
thanks! also this is my first time ever posting to reddit, do i do it right?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on Reddit about people that left a mee blank in the exam, or only studied for 2 weeks, or skipped most of the prep and still pass.
I am here to say I gave July exam my absolute best. I studied consistently and really pushed myself. I had a full time study plan, a mentor, a bar grant. I did 2 full stimulated mock exams. I am lucky I don’t have a job, kids, english is my first language, I have a great supportive family, no responsibilities and no excuses for not passing. Makes me think sometimes that the reason for failing was because I’m not smart, especially when people take this test blind or leave questions blank and fail.
(I say this out of admiration and jealousy for the people that are smarter and retain better than me.)
Anyways, I will be retaking the exam in February 27. I have a full time job now and I won’t have the same ability to study like last time. I’m also worried because I feel like I forgot everything I studied in July and need to relearn the entire exam.
My stats are below for anyone to give me advice!
MEE 1: 38.16
MEE 2: 48.14
MEE 3: 32.69
MEE 4: 48.31
MEE 5: 44.33
MEE 6: 40.08
MPT 1: 49.45
MPT 2: 35.29
WRITTEN SCORE: 118.7
MBE SCORE: 127.0
TOTAL SCORE: 246
CIVIL PROCEDURE 41.1
CONSTITUTIONAL 31.8
CONTRACTS 30.8
CRIMINAL 17.3
EVIDENCE 24.1
REAL PROPERTY 2.0
TORTS 32.0
TOTAL MBE 22.5

Opening up the discussion for those who might be dealing with similar.
Fully aware that I need to give them space to mourn and grieve. I want to know how long I should wait before reaching out again and what ways I can support them. I do not want them to resent me or be upset with me. I just feel incredibly sad for them but do not want to pity them because I fully believe in their capabilities for Feb 27. Any advice welcome.

During bar prep last round scored between 60’s and 65% on adaptibar. Last simulated 70%. Completed bar Bri first round at 70%. Full time employed. This community has been helpful to many. Being vulnerable and need help from those with similar experiences. For those of who that have passed. Congratulations 🎊🍾🎈

Sorry I’m gonna rant and suggest that we mail a letter to the NJ Supreme Court so if you’re not interested, just don’t read lol. Call me extra idc, the bar exam is already an incredibly outdated hazing ritual, we shouldn’t also stand for insane delays unheard of in any other profession. Med School exams get graded in 2 fucking weeks. Like…
I think a large portion of us should just mail a letter to the NJ Supreme Court asking that they make some inquiry as to the release of bar results given that the BOLE is 2 weeks later than their usual release date in past July administrations with absolutely no notice or update as to when we can expect results. Also, in light of how substantial the delay was in February as well, I’m genuinely worried they might actually release by Mid-November which is again just unacceptable. Like NJ barely gets 1k applicants in July administrations. New York has 10k every July and still manages to keep to a release date in the 3rd week of October…
Like how is this level of unprofessionalism becoming of the legal profession? We have an ethical duty to our future clients to act with competence and diligence, but the BOLE has no duty to provide a simple update???? We’re not asking them to consult our opinion about a complex legal issue in an active case worth billions of dollars. An update!! An estimated release date!! ANYTHING!!!
Maybe this is extra but frankly, I think the blatant disrespect that the BOLE is engaged in warrants something like this. If you’re scared to write the following letter and mail it to the NJ Supreme Court, if you have a boss who really likes you who might be willing to sign onto it for you, go for it (it would honestly help if senior admitted attorneys sent a letter because it would mean more coming from them). I know I’m sending it under my name because what‘s the worst that can happen. Here’s a letter that I generated with AI but made a lot of my own edits to it to dial it back (the AI was going CRAZY and flaming tf outta BOLE 😭😭):

RE: Formal Inquiry and Grievance Regarding the New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners (NJ BOLE) Administrative Operations
To the Honorable Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of New Jersey:
I am writing to formally bring to the Court’s attention what appears to be severe administrative and operational deficiencies concerning the New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners (NJ BOLE), an entity operating under the oversight of this Court.
As candidates navigating the path to licensure, we expect a process defined by efficiency, transparency, and professional standards. Unfortunately, the current operations of the NJ BOLE fall drastically short of these expectations. Candidates consistently experience severe delays with zero transparency as to what might be causing this delay. Any attempt to contact the Board via the portal, phone, or email is either unsuccessful or met with a generic response that ‘results should be expected by Mid-November’, which would be, if true, 3-4 weeks later than any state in the country including states like New York with ten times the number of applicants in this state. The mere statement of this outside date should not absolve the BOLE from maintaining the transparency and diligence that will one day be expected of us as admitted attorneys before this Court.
The absence of clear, timely guidance leaves applicants in a state of professional and financial limbo. Further, if the Mid-November release timeline did become a reality, this would deprive applicants that fail the exam of much-needed time to prepare to retake the exam in February.
Given that the Supreme Court holds ultimate regulatory authority over the admission to the bar, I respectfully urge the Court to inquire as to administrative deficiencies currently effecting the NJ BOLE. The legal community and its future members deserve an admissions bureaucracy that reflects the competence and diligence of the New Jersey judiciary.
Thank you for your time, attention, and vital oversight regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
[Your Signature]

How long is the second department taking to process applications and scheduling swearing in ceremonies? I passed the July 2026 NY bar and just submitted my application today?
Have people submitted their applications by now? Was trying to get mine out as soon as possible

Feb takers, here’s a Contracts question in the style that keeps showing up, plus why each wrong answer is tempting.
Q. On June 1, Seller mailed Buyer a written offer to sell 500 widgets at $10 each. It said nothing about how to accept. On June 2, Seller mailed a revocation. On June 3, Buyer mailed a properly addressed and stamped acceptance. Buyer received the revocation on June 4, and Seller received the acceptance on June 5. Is there a contract?
(A) No, because the revocation was mailed before the acceptance. (B) No, because the acceptance wasn’t received until after Buyer got the revocation. (C) Yes, formed on June 3. (D) Yes, formed on June 5.
Answer: C. Under the mailbox rule, an acceptance sent by a reasonable medium is effective on dispatch (June 3). A revocation is effective only on receipt (June 4). The offer was still open when Buyer mailed the acceptance.
Exceptions to memorize: the offer requires receipt; option contracts (acceptance is effective on receipt); and the offeree who sends a rejection first, then an acceptance (whichever arrives first wins).
I’ll post one of these every Tuesday until Feb 23. Tell me which subject you want next — Evidence, Crim, Con Law, Property, Torts, Civ Pro, or another Contracts trap.
Disclosure: I’m a co-founder of BarPrimo, an AI bar tutor. No link here; this is just the question.

Hi everyone, i will be taking the bar July 2027 and I know how important the MBE is and I seen everyone mention Uworld and Adaptibar. I might be confused but is it better to purchase both or one or the other. I already bought my themis bar prep so im trying to think of other supplements should I be purchasing to help increase my score. Any advice or tips would be helpful.

hello! I am looking for some guidance as I prepare for my 5th attempt. I have worked full time and never took a break, and I know I really have to really spend time studying & preparing. I was very sick when I scored the 226 during the exam. I am determined to really put in the time & take a break from work to put this past me. looking for guidance on what I should really focus on, I have used themis & adaptibar so would appreciate any recommendations on other courses… I am open to a tutor. my score has gotten lower.
I have taken every exam in new york, and considering registering for pa for feb 27. is there a disadvantage to doing this (i now live & work in pa)
I appreciate any recommendations & advice

I'm considering sitting for the February 2027 NY bar after four unsuccessful attempts and would really appreciate advice from anyone who's been in a similar position.
I've come relatively close to passing before, but my scores have been inconsistent. I genuinely believe burnout played a significant role in my most recent attempt, especially with everything happening in my life at the time. I don't necessarily think I knew less than before, which makes the drop from 254 to 235 particularly frustrating.
I'm currently working full-time as a law clerk in an area of law that I do not want to stay in (in California), and hoping to study around 20–25 hours a week, taking only the week of the exam off. I'll also be juggling some major personal milestones (like getting engaged!!!) and friends wedding, and the coming holidays during that time. I'm considering keeping this attempt private, aside from telling my partner, to reduce the pressure.
For those who've passed after multiple attempts or been in similar circumstances:
- What did your study schedule realistically look like while working full-time and managing personal commitments?
- Did you focus more on applying and practicing what you already knew rather than relearning everything?
- Was taking only the exam week off enough?
- Did keeping your retake private help with the pressure?
***I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who dealt with burnout or made significant improvements after several attempts. I'm trying to find a sustainable approach that still gives me a realistic chance of passing. With New York only allowing February retakes after four unsuccessful attempts, I'm also torn about whether taking another break is the wisest decision at this point.

How do you go about addressing C & F when they are asking for information that you have already fully disclosed?
Long story short, I worked a job for a month before law school before getting fired. Terrible job that I was terrible at. But nothing to raise any character flags. I got fired quick and never cared to clarify the reason. Years later now, I tried to clarify when preparing my C & F app to no avail. The employer refused to tell me beyond saying I broke company policy (but not saying which one). I let C & F know everything.
Of course, the investigator got that information out of them, but I seriously have no idea what they're talking about. It's still a vague reason, literally a single sentence, with zero context. I've dug through all of my records and spent some time thinking .... nothing comes to mind. I wasn't even done training before they let me go, received no warnings, etc, etc.
I'm wholly aware that denying responsibility is the worst possible outcome, but I seriously cannot think of anything related to the reason they provided me

Hi Everyone,
I’m terrified of putting myself out there like this, but I am at a loss for what I can do to pass the bar.
I took the UBE for the first time in KS in 2/2026 and got a score of 201. My MBE score was a 96.9 while my written was a 104.3. I wasn’t able to finish 2 essays. I didn’t write any essays or MPTs during my prep.
During my bar prep,I had to relocate back to my home state to start my post grad job 2 weeks into studying and started caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s. Initially, my family had no concept of what it means to study for and take the bar, so my first attempt was quite difficult. I used Barbri and Adaptibar to study and prepare for the bar. I did about ~1000 MCQs.
I took the UBE for a second time in NM in 7/2026 and got a score of 211. I got an MBE score of 108.1 and a written score of 103.2. I wrote something for all my essays this time around and my highest essay score had a rule and just a list of issues (I received a 4). This time, I heavily focused on my writing. I wrote a minimum of 7 essays and did short outlines when I was too burnt to write a full essay.
I had just come off of working full time at my post grad job and had 6 weeks to prepare for the bar. I hired a tutor from Bar ToolBox to help me prepare and utilized Adaptibar again. The tutoring was ok, they had prepared a schedule for me in May so I could start prepping. Most times, I was too burnt out from work to follow my schedule and could only do minimal bar prep from May-June. I was assured that I still had plenty of time to study and get back on schedule once I started my leave. My schedule was never readjusted and my tutor would check in with me here and there. After I failed the second time around, I got a “you’ll get em next time” email from my tutor with no feedback or insight as to what I could do better.
Needless to say, I am absolutely devastated by my results. I was let go from my post grad job for failing a second time and life has been feeling hopeless since. I’ve dreamed of being an attorney since I was 15.
As for my study strategies, I utilized mind mapping both times which was very helpful for me when it came to remembering the law and finding my weak areas. I reviewed flash cards and made outlines to help in subjects I struggle in Civ pro, con law, evidence.
I did practice sets of 50 MCQs a day for the first 3 weeks then transitioned into 100 MCQs a day. My second time around I did ~1200 MCQs. Most of my scores sets fluctuating between high 50s to early 60s. With some of my sets even reaching as high as 77%. The week before the bar my scores started going down to low 50s/40s.
I also did 2 practice sets of 100 under timed conditions and received favorable scores in the high 60s during my second prep. I’m a horrible test taker and have pretty high test anxiety/day to day anxiety. I’m looking into the possibility of accommodations for this third attempt to give me more time.
I’ve decided to wait to sit for the bar again until 7/2027. NM will be administering the NextGen for that session and I feel as though I have a better chance of passing that bar. I don’t plan on working AT ALL during my bar prep for that. I’ll likely start studying in May to prepare for NextGen.
I’m looking for any tips, insight, study suggestions—really anything to help me prepare for July 2027 NextGen. I’m terrified of failing again but I want this more than anything.
I can provide more info and breakdowns if needed.
Thank you in advance to everyone! And to all those who are retakers or didn’t get a favorable score, my heart is with you all 🤍 Not many people understand the gravity of failing the bar, but you are seen and we’re gonna get there!

For those of you who used a tutor that allowed you to significantly improve your written portion of the exam. Please who did you use? THANK YOU!

I used Themis, and didn’t pass - off my a few points. Wondering if people in similar situations had a better outcome with GOAT prep.
