Looking for tips to thoroughly double check this situation. Will toggling push or fetch make a difference?

My iCloud mail inbox, both online and on the phone is empty, except for one item that's a week old. Normally there are a few emails, maybe a hundred. Trash is empty. The drafts, sent and a folder I created look normal. I don't remember if I had anything in Archive, but it's empty. So far there's no evidence of recently deleted mail.

While troubleshooting this I noticed 3 contacts items listed in iCloud recovery. Are old versions of recently updated contacts also listed in the recovery section? I don't recall deleting any contacts but I've updated a few recently.

Has anyone else had an issue where searching in the Messages app suddenly stops showing older texts? I used to be able to search for a specific word or phrase and it would show me every message containing it, even from years ago. A few weeks ago, it randomly stopped working.

At first whenever I searched for something, it would say “Messages will appear when it finishes indexing.”
Now that message doesn’t even appear anymore, and my search results only show texts from the last few days. None of my older messages come up, even when I search for words I know are in those conversations.

The weird part is that all my old messages are still there. I can manually scroll back and read them, but they just won’t show up when I search. I have Messages in iCloud turned on, everything says it’s synced, and I have plenty of storage available. I’ve tried restarting my phone, leaving it charging overnight on Wi-Fi, checking my search settings, manually syncing Messages with iCloud, and waiting weeks for it to finish indexing. Nothing has worked.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did it eventually fix itself, or did you find something that actually worked? It’s really frustrating because I used to be able to search through years of conversations, and now I can barely find anything.

I was just trying to give my sister money to transfer it to my apple pay account to buy things and then it asked me to "verify my identity" where it basically asks for your states/address and SSN and things like that, after i enter the information takes me back to start and makes me enter the information again. i really hope im not the only one this is happening too because its really frustrating. Comment below if you have any ideas on how to trouble shoot this. i am on the latest software update aswell. im 15 btw

REPLY IF WILLING: What is technical reason why users are able to interact with but not able to initiate when on desktop?

My calendar on my iPhone has disappeared. I’ve always typed my events directly into my iPhone calendar, all of my birthdays, anniversaries, doctor appointments, etc. It’s usually under “Home”.

I’ve gone through the process of adding my iCloud account again, toggling on and off, restarting, all of my calendars are toggled on, making sure it’s “sync all events”, and I’m currently updating my phone (though it was only behind one update). Anyone else run into this issue? I need help!!!

I have a display issue on my iphone. Apple charged me a $3k holding charge and are shipping me a new phone, for me to return mine.

I understand they may send a brand new phone, or a replacement (I guess a repaired phone?). How would I be able to tell if it's brand new or a repaired device? Iphone 15 Pro Max (from 2023)

I have an iPad where Safari is not synced via iCloud, while my other devices do have Safari synced; I would like to add this iPad to the mix. Can I simply do that, or will one set of data be overwritten by the other? I just need the data to be merged.

Anyone else running into this bug where stickers sent through IMessage are trying to render as photos on the
"photos" section on that thread? Took me forever to figure it out, but after days of thinking it was stuck iCloud downloads, I found out it's actually stickers sent making it act up.

So 4 days after I got my iPhone Duo, I’m happy that it has no issue, at least with my own device. Now since I have a Lamy Safari Note+ pencil, I wanted to use it instead of buying an Apple Pencil USB, the problem is I can’t seem to pair it with my phone. Is there anyone who is in the same situation as mine? May i know your thoughts on this ?

The phone was never dropped or water damaged and it’s in a case with a screen protector so I have no idea how it happened.

Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone knows how Apple’s focus status works when someone blocks your number. If I can still see “ ___ has notifications silenced” in iMessage whenever they have DND on, does that mean they haven’t blocked me, or can their Focus status still show up even if I’m blocked? Has anyone tested this?

Hi Reddit, I have a strange delamination issue on my M1 MBP... Its over the notch, so its causing my webcam to look milky.

I took it to apple, and they said, 5 years old now, so not really a lot we can do, a new screen, maybe 1k...

Any suggestions on how I can either get it fixed cheaper, or maybe even ask apple to replace?

I just upgraded from a 14 to a 17 but my messages are stuck in 2023 and it says that it’s done syncing. I’ve tried turning my iMessages on and off and such, maybe I’m doing some of it wrong but idk

There are three actions I can't decide between for my action button, so I created a shortcuts folder with all three and set the action button to launch that folder.

It actually works perfectly when my phone is unlocked. I hold the action button, and the three options come down from the top of the screen in an animation that looks like the dynamic island.

However, if my phone is off, and I hold the action button, the dynamic island animation happens but just shows a picture of a folder. Then if I press and hold it again, the three options appear. This has nothing to do with permissions because it doesn't matter if my phone is still locked when I try a second time (if my sunglasses are on, my phone doesn't unlock).

Does anyone know what's going on here or how I can fix it?

a couple of weeks ago I noticed that a couple of MacOS processes were reading my disk all the time. At the time I noticed it, the computer had been booted for quite a while and the processes had read about 120-150GB each. I've since rebooted a couple of times and each time the processes continue reading my disk.

The processes are, mainly:
aned - User: root - currently read 5GB, about an hour or two after boot.
logd - User: root - 2,5GB.
mediaanalysisd - User: my username - 2GB

Sometimes these read the disk a lot as well:
TGOnDeviceInferenceProviderService, mds_stores, syspolicyd & corespotlighd.

Any thoughts on why these will be reading my disk over and over?
I asked Claude/ChatGPT and they say that the processes are benign and Google says the same, but still doesn't seem right that they're always reading. And it's almost all reading, no writing. Since the latest reboot aned has written 0 bytes, logd 95MB and mediaanalysisd 15MB.

I'm running Golden Gate 27.0.1 and the computer is a MacBook Air M1.

Thoughts appreciated.
