I run a small independent cinema in Skipton.

The cinema used to have a video rental section, as a callback to those days and to celebrate Yorkshire Film I've designed and made an exhibition.

Each wall celebrates a different period or genre and the VHS has information in the blurb that explains the films Yorkshire influencer and locations.

I have no affiliation to Wentworth garden centre this is just somewhere I visited in Yorkshire and enjoyed.

Going through ideas for a stag do (relatively small, max 10 guys) and the idea of jet skiing has come up. I’ve been looking it up but I’m not finding much good info.

Does anyone know if there’s anywhere beginners can rent jet skis for a couple of hours and actually be able to go fast and have a laugh? Or is it all accompanied tour type things? Do you have to get accredited first?

I’ve seen about 10 different ads for Christmas markets - which one is best with kids?

We don’t mind driving a while for a good day out. Have 3 children with us one of which is in a pram. So wondering which is the best to head to?

Hi everyone! I’m new to Leeds and curious to hear about any weird or interesting things that have happened around the city.

UPDATE: Thank you all for the fantastic feedback! We booked the trip. Now it's just working through all of the suggestions and putting a plan together. I can't thank you all enough. We're so excited.

My wife and I are considering a visit in early January. The timing is just because it's a convenient time for us to get away. I'm into pubs and local foods. My wife is into nature; especially birds. We'd fly into London, drive up, stay in Yorkshire (probably splitting our base between the coast and York), and explore the county. We're fine with working around bad weather but I am a little concerned about driving a smaller rental car in it (ice, snow, etc). Is this just too risky a time of year to go?

I won't say the thing but relating to the car's damage: "Oh dear, shame..." /s
