Boot maintenance It's wild what cleaning your boots and polishing them occasionally can do. 10 months in.

I hand mix a lot of bagged concrete at work and I noticed how bad it was drying and ruining everyone else's boots. I started cleaning them well enough to put in my gym bag every time I go and giving them a polish when they looked dry, and I've yet to see cheaper leather last this long. These Irish setters felt so good on my feet that I figured I'd see how long they last and I'm really surprised. Hell I've used dish soap on them quite a few times. I didn't expect them to hold up like this much less actually still look presentable. I figure a set of expensive boots would be much better off with a frequent cleaning.

TL;DR Clean your boots. It's good for them.

He usually gets these... are there any that are similar? Or ones that are your favorite? These seem to be sold out and even though they are great shoes, he still complains about his feet hurting. So any recommendations would be Awesome.

Boots Buying Help Work boots for trash hauler

Having a real tough time finding a pair of boots to last longer than 6 months working on the back of a trash truck. Honestly starting to believe there isn't a boot out there that can last! I work in Maine so I need a boot with great tread for snow and ice but light weight because I am running on pavement / dirt roads all day. Anyone have any recommendations that doesn't break the bank?

How do you get more life out of your work boot soles?
I’ve had a pair of Thorogoods and a cheaper pair of work boots for about 2 years. Honestly, the Thorogoods have held up better in terms of the leather and stitching, with no rips or tears, but the soles seem to wear down just as fast as my cheaper boots.
I usually get about 6 months out of the soles after having my Thorogoods resoled. I work in commercial pest control, so I do a lot of walking and spend time in warehouses and outdoors.
For those of you who wear Thorogoods or other quality work boots, what do you do to get more life out of your soles? Is it the type of outsole, the surfaces you walk on, or just normal wear and tear? Are there certain soles that last significantly longer?
I’d rather invest in a good pair of boots that lasts, but constantly resoling them gets expensive. Looking for any tips or recommendations!

Boots Buying Help Timberland boondock pro vs Boondock *ultralight* pro

Grabbing new work boots. Currently have the regular Boondock pro, going on a year with them- pretty satisfied. Wondering if the ultralights are worth it for the comfort? Do they give up a lot of durability or warmth or anything?

Boots Buying Help Need a good pair of work shoes for concrete floors

I'm young and have healthy joints but a month ago I started working in a large indoor lumber yard with a concrete floor. I work 9 hour days 5 days a week and I was wearing my Oboz Sawtooths(which i didnt realize was a big mistake until later) and last monday i started to notice a little knee discomfort. Got timberland anti fatigue insoles and didnt really change anything. I use rubber mats as much as possible. Never realized it til now but my foot posture sucks. Very flat so im over-pronating and causing my knees to go out of alignment and get sore quick. Started looking for shoes and insoles that can give me both shock absorption to stop jarring my knees and structure to keep me in good alignment. I was looking at Brunt Marin boots cause they are a wedge style and have the PU midsole and i can put a good insole in but i dont want to sweat to death in the summer in merino socks. Does anyone know of any shoes or boots that handle concrete great and eliminate knee pain without squishing and losing structure after just 4 months of use? Or should I just get these boots? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
