Financials How expensive is UT, and is worth it?
Hi y'all! The question in the post is what I'm asking. I'm an autoaccept with a non-competitive major, so I am waiting to hear back. UT is one of my top schools (other than maybe Rice or any other prestigious school), but it is the most appealing to me because I know I will get in. I applied as a history major, but I might change it to government or sociology (I want to go to law school). I don't qualify for financial aid, but my family is NOT rich enough to pay for that. In good news, i've completed two years of college at cc as a dual credit student, and about 40 out of 60 will transfer. I want to attend; the academics are great, the community, culture, and campus, and a study abroad program. I applied for all the UT-specific scholarships along with a few others. Still it probably won't pay for everything... so I need to know if the debt is worth it. Or should I go to Texas AM and stay cheap?

Chance Me CNS EXT transfer advice since I have no help here
I’m working on my resume to transfer from UTSA to UT as either a neuroscience major or a public health as my second option.
Just to get to know the basics I work full time as a CCMA to pay for school, have my BLS/CPR Certification, X-ray technician certification, and am planning to volunteer abroad for a few weeks. Am I heading in the right direction? ( feel free to ask any questions I hardly post on Reddit)

Question Ngl feel like on-ramps screwed me here, thoughts?
On-ramps happened like 5 years ago, I was in 10th grade going through a lot(I don’t want to talk about please) got a C-, and apparently i forgot to say no to credit.
Now, classified as a sophomore in college with an ongoing streak of A semesters. It’d be really messed if UT calculates my cumulative gpa, with that. And now, I’m applying as an external transfer, for spring. My institutional gpa is 4.0, and my cumulative, just checked, falls in between 3.72-3.8 depending on how you calculate. I just pray they can leave it out. I may be able to fix it later, if I continue my A streak.

Discussion for those without IDA (external transfers)
just realized today that when i check on the report itself, it does show im core complete and which school i completed my cores at. i have the entire core curriculum aection highlighted green when i open up my audit report, so they DID run my transcripts (which makes me feel better lol). still unsure why the rest is 0% but 🤷
wondering if anyone else who has 0% is also core complete and it shows it in the report? (click on the audit id # to check your report)

Question Anyone with a Average to Low GPA applying/accepted?
Hi everyone! I’m not delusional, I definitely know that my gpa is a weakness in my application. I was wondering if anyone got accepted into UT Moody with similar academic stats or is also applying with similar stats? Definitely looking for someone to ease my mind but brutal honesty is also appreciated 🥲
UW: 3.47 (out of 4.00)
W: 3.76 (out of 5.00)
My school doesn’t officially rank
Instate
I believe I'm a strong applicant in other areas but holistic review is so random sometimes!

Financials Is UT need-blind for admissions purposes?
Was curious if UT was need-blind or need-aware(are the admissions office and financial aid office mostly separate or working actively together)? I'd say I'm a solid applicant for my major but I need significant aid and was wondering if they often make decisions based on that.

Advice Submit freshman resumé late or keep EA status?
I JUST got the EA banner on MyStatus after submitting my supplementals many days ago. I was under the impression that my materials weren't received by the deadline so I started my freshman resumé in hopes that it will help contextualize my Common App info. I think it would be very useful in expanding my application. Should I keep my EA status or submit my freshman resume for RD? Is EA even worth keeping if most EA applicants get deferred?
For context I'm an in-state non-auto admit (missed by 3%...booo); first-choice major is B.A. Psych.

Advice transcript for UT is 'under review'
Will I still be considered early action?? Because the deadline for extra materials was the 22nd.

Advice How possible is it to transfer into ut?
I want to transfer over and honestly I know that it’s rlly hard to do so and I’m not counting on it but why not try? And what major do y’all think is the easiest major to external transfer into. Any transfers here that managed to do it and can tell me their story?

Advice EA applicant, fee processed 10/23 after paying on 10/21 — MyStatus doesn’t say “met Early Action deadline.” Anyone else?
Fall 2027 EA applicant, submitted Oct 15. Every item on my checklist is Received and the banner says “We have all the items we need to complete your application.” But a friend’s banner says “You’ve met our Early Action deadline!” and mine doesn’t say EA anywhere.
The only difference I can see: my fee shows a Status Date of 10/23. I paid $75 through Common App on Oct 15, then UT showed a $15 balance (international fee is $90), which I paid in What I Owe on Oct 21. UT’s own reminder email says received date counts, not processed date, so I should be fine, but the wording difference is making me nervous.
Has anyone had the EA banner show up late, or had an item process after 10/22 and still get an EA decision in January? Already emailed admissions and calling Monday; just looking for anyone who’s seen this before.

Question Need Some Info About UT Austin, College of Education, PhD Program in Educational Policy and Planning
Hi everyone,
I am an international student considering applying to the PhD program in Educational Policy and Planning at UT Austin, and I was hoping to connect with someone who is currently in the program or is familiar with it.
I would really appreciate the opportunity to ask a few questions about the program, particularly regarding how my academic and professional background might fit, the research environment, funding opportunities for international students, and the overall doctoral experience.
I have already tried reaching out to the program coordinators listed on the official website, which include faculty members as well, about two weeks ago, but unfortunately, I have not received a response yet.
If there are any current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the program who would be willing to connect or point me towards the right person to contact, I would genuinely appreciate it.
Even a brief conversation or a few pointers would be very helpful as I try to make a more informed decision about applying.
Thank you in advance for any guidance or help!
