Question How long did the Strike Team know each other?

They mention how they are "brothers" and this is a family, but they also state that the events of the show is only 3 years. I feel like its unlikely that they could have this family like relationship unless they have known each other for many years, at the very least 5-10 years?

And it also feels like, similar to Sopranos, we the viewer are coming in near the end of the journey. Like if they've been friends for years and that friendship eventually crashes and burns, the show takes place over the last few years of that friendship.

Question Life's a Beach!

During the entire series, how come we didn't see any of the characters go to the beach not one time? After all, they lived in L.A. Unless they went on their days off.

Discussion Season 5 begins 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Just finished S5 Ep1!

I just had to come here to mention Whittaker’s character. He seems… weird and off putting. I obviously have NO idea what’s going to happen but he’s definitely raising some eyebrows for me in his mannerism and behaviors. He’s making me uncomfortable, which I imagine is the point.

Okay, that’s all just so excited!!’

And I know, I won’t look at this sub (it’s already muted) but I need a space to get my thoughts out with people who appreciate it too!

Question What's the quality of the non-English languages spoken on the show?

Breaking Bad infamously has really bad non-English dialogue that sounds as if it were translated poorly but I'm curious what its like on The Shield? i know Spanish and Armenian are the main two non-English languages spoken, anyone familiar with them enough to weigh in?

Ever notice that? It gets to be kind of annoying and makes you want to turn the volume down all the time.

Discussion Season 2 Episode 1

I'm rewatching The Shield again and its crazy how bad Shane is every episode. Macky puts Shane in charge of the cocaine - he messes up.

Previous episode with Trip the basketball player - Shane just has to sit and watch him and keeps causing problems.

Then he peed on that guy on episode.

Shane sleeps with the stripper who is was rolling John's and was the ringleader. Messes up that cause.

I feel like Ronnie would have been a way better second in comand. I've watched the entire series a few times and I do love the show.

Discussion Dutch vs. Billings!

When Dutch and Billings were outside fighting. Vic and the Strike Team were standing there, watching and laughing. This reminds me of high school! LOL! Then they finally broke up the fight. Dutch said, let's go, Vic! Me and you, right now! Jeez! That'd have been interesting! Claudette: two of our own are dead! She'll give everyone a timeout! LOL!

Discussion Which money?

We we haven’t finished the show yet. And we love it. But we laugh every time they say money train money. Oh, you mean the money train money not the piggy bank money, the safe deposit box money, not the mattress money, you are speaking of the money train money. Then we got the blackmail box the not the toy box, not the Amazon box, it is the blackmail box. We don’t want to bring the wrong box or spend the wrong money. Should be a drinking game!

Discussion Onto Season 5!!!!!

Just finished Season 4! I loved it. Anthony Anderson is such a criminally underrated actor. I loved him as Antwon Mitchell. Glenn Close also did an excellent job and I found myself forgetting she was even famous Glenn Close throughout the season.

The last 4 episodes were great. Loved the final scene with them all hanging out together at the bar just as human beings. That made me smile.

Truly no idea where this is headed, but I can’t fricken wait.

Discussion What About Terry?!

I know, we didn't get to see a lot of Terry. Since he was only on 3 episodes. He was good looking and smart. He worked for justice. He was smarter than Lem and Shane put together. Never mind that! LOL! Is it better that Vic killed him on the pilot or should they have waited until the season finale? When Ronnie told Vic, I wish you would've told me. I would've looked out for you better. He was right.

Question Dutch or Claudette, who did you side with in the Lisa Kensit situation?

Claudette kept pursuing the extent of shot public defender Lisa Kensit's drug habit, which would cause lawyers to push to retry cases that Lisa was involved in during the period in which she had the drug addiction. Dutch was against this, since it could potentially mean that people they know are criminals would go free.
