I'm writing this because I'm terrified, I haven't been able to think straight, and I need advice from people who have experience with situations like this.

I'm a minor from Poland, and I've ended up in a situation that I never imagined I would find myself in. I exchanged intimate pictures with someone online, and now those pictures are being used against me. I'm being threatened with having them sent to my friends and family.

The person threatening me is demanding $250 and has given me a deadline. They have my phone number and information about people I know. I don't know how much of what they're telling me is real, whether they actually intend to distribute the pictures, or whether they're just trying to scare me into paying. They have also made me question whether my phone is safe, although I have no proof that they have access to it.

I've already deleted my TikTok account because I panicked and wanted to protect myself. I don't have the money they're demanding, and even if I did, I don't know whether paying would actually make them stop or whether they would just demand more.

What makes this especially difficult is that I'm a minor, and the pictures are intimate. I'm absolutely terrified of telling an adult. The thought of my family finding out about the pictures is horrifying to me, and I'm scared of how they might react. I know people might say I should just tell my parents, but that doesn't feel simple or safe from my perspective.

I'm also struggling mentally with everything that's happening. I'm scared of losing the few people I have in my life, of being humiliated, and of never being able to move on if these pictures get shared. I know that might sound dramatic to someone who hasn't experienced this, but right now it feels like my entire future is at stake.

I want to make it clear that I'm not asking anyone to find or confront this person. I just need practical advice from people who understand online blackmail, especially when the victim is underage.

My questions are:

- Is paying ever a good idea, or does it usually lead to more demands?

- What should I do if the deadline passes and they actually send the pictures?

- How can I protect my friends and family from being contacted?

- How do I report this and get help as a minor without making the situation worse?

- Is there any realistic chance that they will leave me alone if I stop responding?

Please take this seriously. I'm genuinely frightened, I feel trapped, and I don't know what my next step should be. I need advice, not judgment. I already know I made a decision that I regret. I just want to get through this without losing everything that matters to me.

I like this sub, but every like 3 posts is the same variation of questions: ‘when is it right to have sex?’ ‘why are so many teenagers having sex?’ ‘People should wait until marriage’ ‘All teens care about now is sex’ and it’s so overdone. There’s SO MUCH MORE things to talk about than that.

WHO CARES. I’m 17 and haven’t had sex, but why do we treat it as a crime? Shaming teens for having sex isn’t gonna stop them from having it, and as long as it’s safe and consensual, I really don’t care. Talking about how much you despise sex to me is just as annoying as talking about how much you love sex. Like that’s really none of my concern, just have it when you’re ready.
