Discussion Niger has just fully criminalized being LGBTQIA+
The new law includes asexual and intersex people, and has made being LGBTQIA+ punishable with 10 years in jail and a fine equivalent to around 150,000 euros.

Discussion Transphobic unemployed Karen is back at my school
This time her opinion is even worse than a vague statement about how kids shouldn’t have surgery 😭💀
Again, tf does she mean by “do no harm” when her shit opinion is doing harm?!?
Also, I found out that she’s a retired teacher who managed to do harm (ironically) when she was teaching. The school put up the trans flag to celebrate Transgender Day and she made them stop. I feel so bad for the poor kids who had to deal with her :(
I have some pretty awesome people in my school though :D
Previous post here
Edit: this is in front of a high school. If it were elementary school she might have a point, but high schoolers can generally make good choices about their body, especially with something this big
Edit 2: who reported me to Reddit cares? Being suicidal and disagreeing with you are two different things

Discussion huh, interesting
i have no words 😭
This is the 2017 conference held by Mike Pence and fellow Republicans discussing the ACA. Talks included important topics like maternity leave and health care associated with giving birth. It's not all that was discussed, but it probably would have benefited from having more women there as there was only a single woman, which they excluded from the picture.
edit: for those who don’t like to read my posts, there was a single woman in attendance, she was excluded from the photo.
As a note: The conservative Freedom Caucus doesn't have any female members.

Discussion Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (Women who are biologically male)
Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (CAIS) is a rare genetic condition where someone has XY chromosomes (which is what males have for those who skipped biology, women have XX )but their cells cant pick up on male hormones like testosterone at all. Even though their testes make normal amounts of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone while theyre developing in the womb, those signals never get through so the baby ends up with female external sex organs.
When puberty hits the brain tells the body to release luteinizing hormone (LH, which also has a role in pregnancy btw!!!1!!), which pushes the testes to pump out even more testosterone. But the cells still ignore it. Instead, an enzyme called aromatase steps in and turns that extra testosterone into estrogen. Thanks to all that estrogen, the person naturally grows breasts and gains the typical thing you’d expect in a woman (Breast development, hips widening, etc). They don’t get periods tho since they don’t have a uterus or ovaries.
people with CAIS are raised and live as women. Even though they're technically male, they are indistinguisable from a woman. Because basically every female/male characteristics are driven by hormones. I was reading this in wikipedia today, and I found this super interesting.
It'd be stupid to deny that CAIS individuals are women, because they very much so are. With this logic, the entire conservative argument of what is a woman and what is a man completley falls apart. They have female reproductive organs from the outside, that is basically a deadend with no fallopian tubes. With estorgen they develop female bodies, completely indistinguishable from biological women. What do you guys think? Please tell me in the comments
