Hi everyone,

I’m a Communication Design student at NID Assam, currently working on a research project around food culture, familiarity, and representation in India.

I’m trying to understand how people discover different cuisines, what shapes their food preferences, what foods they consider unfamiliar or avoid, and how factors like family, culture, region, dietary choices, ordering habits, and cooking influence what we eat.

A part of the project also looks at how familiar people are with Northeastern Indian food and food cultures, and whether lack of exposure affects the way these cuisines are perceived.

I’ve made a short survey and would really appreciate responses from people across different regions, age groups, and dietary preferences.

I've been working on an experiment called The Universal Mirror for several months. It's a participatory digital artwork exploring how people around the world are feeling.

The current theme is Happiness, Right Now.

I'm collecting anonymous reflections from people around the world through a handful of short questions about how they're feeling in the present moment.

The responses are combined to create a living digital artwork that changes every time someone contributes.

So far, 734 people across 55 countries have taken part. I'm hoping we can reach 1,000, because when we reach that milestone, a different algorithm takes over how the artwork is generated. I'm genuinely curious to see what happens to the image.
