Positive Vibes: No Salt Why do Sam and Dean care so much when people die?

• Upvotes

Especially in the later seasons. They know what heaven is like and that you can contact people on the other side if you know what you're doing, and you'll see them once you die anyway. The only ones that should take priority are those who are most likely going to hell.

Just a thought while watching, genuinely curious though.

Tattoos How many have the anti possession tattoo?

• Upvotes

Hey, how many of you have the Anti-Possession Tattoo, where is it and what does it look like?

And have some of you maybe checked whether the sign doesn't have any real historic and symbolic meaning?

Am kinda considering getting it myself, but am unsure about real life meaning behind it. Or whether it is just completely based on imagination.

Because I am not really in the mood to do the tattoo only to later find out I actually sold part of my soul or something like that.

I’m watching the show for the first time and my mom walked in, and asked why these 2 gay guys keep fighting. It’s even more funny to cause everyone in the show thinks there gay as well

I bought this ring, which was too big for my petite hands, so I had it resized by a local silversmith who works with sterling silver. It looks just like new!

Season 9 Should i restart or keep going

I have watched till episode 13 of season 9 and frankly i am getting bored now season 1 to 5 were best . Season 6,7,8 all had some flaws but were compelling enough . Ok about the mark of cain and all that stuff plot line in season 9 but i am just getting so bored of the brother dynamic this season 😭. I loved season 1 to 5 due to its vibe and the plot that was extremely connected where was in the new seasons it’s not the same vibe or feeling . I am really want to watch restart season 1 again till 5 because how much i loved it so should i restart or push through season 9 till season15 ?

Season 4 Long Overdue Realization

I just realized that Dean and Sam's relationship went downhill in Season 4. Well, the start. They fix things but yeah. Before that I feel like it was kinda minor problems??? Idk. I love their relationship btw. I'm not crapping on it. Just that's where I noticed that their conversation skills and honesty went awful. Ruby really did a number in their relationship tbh. Haha

Anyone else notice this?

Sam never enjoyed good parents

I sometimes feel sorry for Sam. He never really experienced good relationships with his parents. John was always mean and hard on him, always fighting and arguing. Mary died when he was six months old and when she was brought back, she straight up abandoned them. I wished he experienced something nice from the parents.

News/Misc. I recently learned about the music in some episodes being replaced in digital/streaming versions of the show - what physical version do I need to buy to get the right music?

Some articles say it's only the DVDs, others say it's both DVD and blu-ray. Can someone point me the right way? Would hate to waste money buying something that's exactly the same as what I already have trough iTunes.

Positive Vibes: No Salt Supernatural about the Bible Spoiler

So I'm a huge fan of spn but also a christian and I love the biblical aspects especially in the earlier seasons. The representation of the apocalypse and other things is just great, the writers did a really fantastic job. The only thing is that this is fiction, and even with all the references the interpretation is just so wrong comparing to the real word of God in the Bible. I mean the series made God the worst person in the whole world, while it's just far from the truth for us christians. And I don't hate how they interpret this but I see the difference between fiction and reality. I am aware that many people watching didn't read the Bible and have assumptions that this is accurate, and the Lord isn't omnibenevolent. So I was wondering, for people who don't have anything to do with religion and for these who do belive in any god, did supernatural somehow change your vision of divine powers?

Holy water question

I can't remember when, but a demon in the show mentions jesus was "just a man", implying he had no holiness or divinity. So how does holy water work? I remember scenes where the characters blessed water by using a little crucifix with jesus on it, but why would that bless the water if jesus wasn't actually divine?

So I have been saving the episodes. I liked the most through my watching of the show and it would be cool if anyone else did it. I think I will watch these when I feel down or nostalgic for the show.

When you trust the science but know the lore

So I’m a lifelong Ghostbusters fan, and only got into Supernatural a few years ago. Around that time I was putting the finishing touches on my GB uniform and decided “ya know what, we gotta put a Supernatural easter egg in here somehow” and thought the anti-possession symbol would be a perfect fit. Now I know for in universe lore it’s supposed to be on my body to be effective, but I wanted it somewhere people would actually see it, so onto the Proton Pack it went!

Map of Supernatural Episodes and nearby "real" haunts...

I enjoy web scraping and mapmaking, so I decided to make this after (re-)watching the series for like the 1,567th time. The yellow circles highlight the show settings, and the white ones show some local haunts known around the areas. (Most of the show was just shot in Canadian studios and local sets, so these locations are not shoot locations... they are the places that the stories are set throughout the show.)

Fanworks Similarities between TVD and SPN

(There are spoilers for the finales of both series at the end.)

Those who know me are aware that I’m a huge fan of both shows, and there are so many similarities—even ones I haven’t included in the photos! For instance, there’s the blood-related dependency that Sam and Stefan both struggle with, and the fact that Dean and Damon both fit the ESTP personality type. But what really caught my attention—once I noticed it—was the parallel between Klaus and Lucifer; their obsession with their younger siblings is striking. Furthermore, the fact that both of their children are "miracles"—being inherently good, incredibly powerful, and even capable of defeating God—makes Jake and Hope very similar to each other. And, in the end, the self-sacrificing sibling dies once again.

I'm not explaining everything because it's clear from the photos, but I'm curious to hear your comments. I'll share this on the subreddits of both series.

Season 5 Underrated moment: Dean talking to Lisa in "99 Problems."

Post image
356 Upvotes

After all they've been put through, Dean's lost hope. Bobby's in a wheelchair, Ellen and Jo died for nothing because the Colt didn't work, God's a deadbeat, and they've been searching for months for a solution and NOTHING! So Dean's just about ready to say yes to Michael. But he has to see Lisa first.

"When I do picture myself happy, it's with you . . . and the kid." Damn it, his smile is so genuine! Dean acts like he's a soldier that lives for the fight, but he was just as cursed as Sam was. He DOES want more than the hunts and the one-night stands. And Lisa was more than that to him.

But the way he's wording it, it sounds like he's going to commit suicide or something, and Lisa keeps offering to talk this through.

"Lisa . . . things are about to get really bad."

"Bad how? Like your kind of bad?"

"Worse."

But even if Dean didn't go through with saying yes, I always liked that he planned on making the angels agree to some conditions. He does hold some cards in this situation.

Season 3 Bobby was basically the father figure Sam and Dean needed

I’ve been rewatching the earlier seasons, and something about Bobby stands out more than it did the first time.

He never tried to replace John, but in a lot of situations he ended up being the adult Sam and Dean could actually rely on. He would call them out when they were being idiots, help them when things got completely out of control, and still let them make their own decisions.

What I especially like is that Bobby didn’t treat them like helpless kids. He knew exactly how stubborn they were, but he still showed up whenever they needed him.

Do you think Bobby became more of a father figure to Sam and Dean than John ever managed to be?

Season 15 How ruby and sister jo met each other

Post image
188 Upvotes

In season 15 we saw a flashback of ruby and sister jo making a deal with each other, while sister jo never been to earth before and only because metatron spell, and ruby was killed before that spell long time ago.

There must have been an issue with the timeline or maybe writers wanted it to happen? As ruby is sam's wife irl so as sister jo and dean too

Season 15 (SPOILERS) the 4 princes Spoiler

I just had a thought

But low-key did lucifer make the Princes to mimic/mock the Archangels god made?

I mean 1 to play god of course

But reading more of the Princes Got me thinking

( in spn lore)

Azazel- the oldest and most loyal to their father akin to micheal

Ramiel- left his duty and hell behind akin to Gabriel in the show

Dagon- did her duty but choice to do it in her own way like rapheal

Asmo- rebelled and disliked his father with his own god complex like well their pops lucifer

What do you think? Am I just reading to much into it?

( I also admit I hadn't actually made it far enough to judge ramiel and dagon I just seen clips of them same for asmo! Still on season 8)

Alternate seasons 14 & 15 Spoiler

As I'm doing my annual October re-watch of Supernatural, and I'm in season 11 right now (Amara storyline), I'm realizing I'm kind of dreading seasons 14 & 15. Michael being back, but in different fonts and the whole God going psycho storyline but... just felt like the ball was completely dropped. I would love it if Supernatural could come back for just a 2-season run, for alternate versions of seasons 14 & 15, to give a proper justified ending to this long, great series. I feel Supernatural fans are owed that much! What really grinds my gears 😵‍💫🤭 is that darn episode where Rowena has to sacrifice herself and all those ghosts start trying to attack. That was thee worse! Acting and horrible ghosts in the whole season. At one point, the circle part just got super cheesy! 🥴 actually... when I think about it, add an alternate season 13 as well.🤨 I absolutely hated the whole other world storyline. I feel there could have been another (better) way to rewrite Bobby and Charlie back in w/o having to go down a repetitive archangel storyline, but in another dimension 🤔🙄 I know as soon as season 13 arrives... loyalty & love for the trio will become the driving force in finishing the series. Because the storylines the last 3 seasons 😮‍💨 smh. Still love the Supernatural series. 🥰🤗

Season 2 I'm on Season 2 of my first watch!

Hello all! I am currently watching Supernatural for the first time ever! It's been such a fun and amazing ride! This show is amazing and quickly rising in my ranks of favorite shows. I made a post here before, but basically my goal is just to drop by maybe once or twice a season to update whoever cares about my progress, maybe talk about the show a bit, and really just gush over it. It's been a while, I haven't had the easiest year (who has really?) but I finally was able to dedicate time to get through some episodes. I've currently just finished S2E10 - Hunted. I wanted to recap some of my thoughts below, hopefully I don't go on too much of a tangent!

Season 1 was extremely good, and the monsters were interesting. The bee episode, they definitely should have died in however. Honestly, I don't know how they get away with half of their stuff lol it seems the monsters operate on Scooby-doo logic sometimes and try to terrify before actually killing the brothers.

But when we got to the last episodes of Season 1, oh mannn. The episode where they show the boys as kids, hunting a monster who attacked Sam when he was younger was such good stuff. I am such a sucker for Sam Dean moments. They play off themselves so well. And then Meg, and all her craziness. Kinda sad she's gone, maybe one day she can return and we can see her true form? I'll miss the previous actress, she could play a pissed off, evil, yet kinda campy and also kinda terrifying demoness so very well.

John! Everything John I love. I totally recognize he's a horrible father, but like aw man Jeffery Dean Morgan plays him like no ones business. I can really see the years of built up trauma in him that just cannot allow him to be what the boys might need, just like I can see his awareness of said flaws in his system. It's like he knows he's a piece of shit but he also knows it's what he needs to be if he ever wants to avenge his wife. Honestly, it's easily apparent to me that he cared about his wife more than both of his kids combined. Revenge was more important to him than living, which I can understand but it's still quite sad to see.

John did choose his boys in the end though, and I have to tip my hat for that. He made a deal with his own personal devil, and did it for Dean of all people. Seemed like Dean was always his verbal punching bag for everything, his obvious least favorite. It's nice I guess that in death at least, John finally chose Dean. I hope his actor comes back for flashbacks!

Season 2 has been great. I love the new characters, especially the roadhouse crew. I wish other hunters were more credible I guess. It seems like Sam and Dean outpace everything and everyone. In fact in general, I am kind of unimpressed with Hunters except the roadhouse crew, and my man Gordan. Gordan is everything the show needed. I feel physical tension whenever he pops up in an episode man. It's like he can't be put down. When he was hunting Sam, and actually killed him in the flashback was so crazy. Hell, he himself is crazy lmaoo. I will also say the monsters seem to be getting scarier. Watching the episode where the entire town gets disappeared like Roanoke was a horror fest.

I'm looking forward to more of the man with the Yellow Eyes. I don't think he is Satan, because I know this show goes on for quite some time and I don't expect Satan to appear so soon. I want to see Gordon again for sure, and maybe some monsters that the boys cant face. Maybe even watch them have to flee from something they just can't do anything to. I love the drama that's building from Sams powers. John is a shitty person and shittier father for asking one son to kill another, but goddamn could he hold a scene when he was around. I hope to see this war the Yellow Eye demon is preparing for, I would love to see greater stakes.

If you made it this far down, feel free to chat with me down below!

Season 12 I HATE the BMoL

E14 btw

I just picked the show back up after a pretty long break, and after less than 5 minutes of watching, I realized why I stopped.

I like some parts of season 12, but as soon as the BMoL show up, I get annoyed.

"We're so much better than you. We've fixed literally everything already. Also, we all are great at fighting for whatever reason. We're also super smart and have OP weapons. I hate Americans so much >:("

That's all I hear from them. It's so obnoxious. I just want their building to explode or something. Mary can go with them, idrc.

It just feels like they're spitting in our faces here. I hope they kill off all the BMoL and pivot to something else, but I know it'll probably just get worse.

Later Seasons Sam Winchester

I’m not sure if anyone else noticed this. Did anyone else feel like Sam had pretty much resigned himself to hunting & completely gave up hope for a better life? Feel like he was played really flat almost numb at times

Positive Vibes: No Salt What music would Sam and Dean like from today?

So I’ve been doing a rewatch of supernatural and funny enough when Taylor Swift got played. It made me think what other music does Dean and Sam like that. They’re afraid to admit to each other.

I actually think they both would like Tenacious D?

I don’t know if Sam and Dean are into musicals maybe Sam I could see more than Dean. But I could see Dean like some stuff and not tell anyone

But I don’t know I just thought it was a fun thought experiment and I’m curious what people would think?

Like would Dean be into hard-core metal? I’m not sure. I don’t know if I could see him in a Mosh Pit lol

But ya I just thought I would post this for fun.
