https://www.stateofdecay.com/undead-labs-becomes-independent-studio/
“Undead Labs today announced that it has completed its separation from XBOX and is now operating as an independent, employee-owned game development studio.
Development of State of Decay 3 remains actively underway at Undead Labs. The game is currently in alpha, with the team continuing toward the previously announced milestone of entering a closed beta before the end of the year. State of Decay 3 remains targeted for release in 2027 on XBOX, Game Pass, PC, and PlayStation.
“Independence brings us closer to our community and lets us focus on what matters most: making the best games we can and earning the continued support of the people who choose to spend their time with us,” said Philip Holt, Studio Head of Undead Labs. “State of Decay exists because millions of players have made that choice over the years, and we’re dedicated to honoring their trust.”
The transition marks a new chapter in a relationship between Undead Labs and Microsoft that spans more than 15 years. The original State of Decay launched in partnership with Microsoft in 2013, and Microsoft acquired Undead Labs in 2018.
“We’re enormously grateful for our years as part of XBOX and for everything that relationship has made possible,” Holt said. “Microsoft has been part of the State of Decay story from the very beginning, and we’re proud of everything we’ve accomplished together.”
Additional details about Undead Labs’ future plans will be shared at a later date. Players can stay up to date through StateofDecay.com or following us on social media, and can sign up to participate in future State of Decay 3 playtesting at https://playtest.stateofdecay.com/“

I share the repetitiveness; I stopped at level 60 in a save file. I plan to replay it someday in the YOSE version (because it has the Lifeline characters) and finally "finish" the DLC.

So far Ed maya and Markus are alive getting better at dealing with ferals and juggs. Lily's brother is hurt but he is okay too and did lose some neighbours because of zombies. If I start with breakdown or lifeline are those more difficult than the normal story mode.

Hope we see you again another day.
What was your favorite map from state of decay 2?

I really wish or hope they implement gears for cars in SoD 3. Just a simple 1st gears for sneak driving, 2nd for quieter scouting and a 3rd for traveling.

Hello everybody, big fan and hardcore player of SoD here. I have played 500+ hours in Sod1 and i have reached level 60 in Breakdown and 300+hours in Sod2 and i am a lethal zone player. The question is, does anyone else (except me) think that Sod3 has lost its identity? It has many better features, but when you look at it, for some reason it doesn't remind me Sod1 or Sod2. The graphics look like Days Gone, the nests look like R6 Extraction and generally the game doesn't look like Sod3. Of course it HAS to be better, but it should keep the same theme. That is my opinion. One more example: Searching containers with the circle progress thing, is just a feature that i can't part with it. What about your opinion? I would love to read it. Thanks in advance.
PS: My comments are based from what i have seen in Youtube, i do not have access to the beta.

As the title suggest. I'm playing the first state of decay.
My character died and she got an AK47, I want to recover that badly but the loot seems like at the bottom of the house asset. Can I recover it? Tried different angles, going at the top or bottom but nothing seems to work. Also tried spamming the pick up button while walking and changing angles but the pick up button didn't show up.

My pc could only run the first game so I got it I am able to run it normally I have seen others play it before but haven't got it before. I was playing earlier and lost Maya so i decided to restart. Do you have any tips or some guide I can watch that doesn't really explain much on how to deal with ferals or the big guys?Zombie hordes seem to be fine if you have at least two people with you

I’m struggling with depression right now. To the point where even eating and sleeping feel difficult, let alone making posts. But I’ll try my best to get back on my feet as soon as possible!

Look, i love what i am seeing in the beta Brian showed, it's cool and i would play it
but it has lots of stuff from second game removed, and it does not offer that much new
i honestly thing if they launch the game as is, 1.0 on all the platforms it might do more harm then good to the studio if they receive bad reviews and harsh criticism from players
I feel like 1 years early access could help a lot and i will pay for it right away
UPD to explain my reasoning: The problem is if this game is undercooked at launches with 1.0 on every platform, reviewers could give it 6/10 and so on and kill all of the momentum, you have only one chance to launch the game, and i am not sure devs have the budget to recover from a bad launch

Does anyone know if undead labs is going to add a rarity system for SOD3? I briefly saw it on one of the beta streams, and it’s kinda got me concerned. I really enjoyed the previous 2 games and I personally feel that a rarity system would ruin the gameplay and progression especially if you’re a returning player. For me personally if they do add this I will not be buying it.

These names are getting interesting. I wonder if her rare books are smutty too. 😂

I rescued Vienna Cho and accepted her mission to disarm the nuke before accepting the Sasquatch mission to nuke the city. So I kinda did it backwards. The nuke is now disarmed, but I still have the Sasquatch mission available to nuke the city. What happens if I accept the Sasquatch mission? Is this a bug or intentional?
I do not want to nuke the city as I have done that already in a previous playthrough.
