Hellcat Pro for carry?
Considering the Hellcat Pro for carry. How well does it handle recoil? Thanks

Anyone have the comp version. Does that make much of a diffference.

I carry a regular HCP my wife carries the comp. She says she can notice the difference but I can’t. With that being said my gun shoots way better but I have a few thousand rounds through mine and an apex trigger she maybe has 600-700 and it’s completely stock.

Have shot mine back to back with a range gun for 100 rds each
The port does reduce things both in hand and muzzle rise by about 10-15%, but it’s definitely loud/concussive. Not worth imo, regular hcp shoots good

Maybe the echelon compact is a better choice.

Depends on your body size.
I’m 120 lbs and and my neighbor has let my try his 4.0C on BLM. It’s definitely wide enough to print for me
I think the width is the most significant difference between the two for carry

With proper grip and practice, it’s a great carry weapon. Perfect balance of size and capacity. I end up adding a hogue grip to add a little more thickness.
I was worried about all the reports of it being too snappy, but it ended up being the gun I shot best when I did my qualification for my concealed carry license

I have one. It's a bit jumpy but not unmanageable. You can put a Hogue grip sleeve on it and/or put in a DPM recoil assembly and it helps with recoil a good amount but I know a lot of folks don't like to mess with carry internals. It's honestly pretty solid-15 rounds in a flush fit magazine and doesn't print all that much. It's ever so slightly longer than the 43x but a tad shorter too. I feel like it shoots softer than the 43x for me.

As all have said train with it. It’s got its quarks for sure. On first touch the trigger is a bit unruly but after some practice you learn its mechanics. Looonng take up, with a discernible wall at the end and a nice reset point making double taps more controlled. With no manual safety and being a carry I prefer the long take up as a secondary “safety” giving confidence to carry with one in the pipe. I found putting a tac light on the rail helps with some of the snappiness but it’s a pretty light gun. It was my first and still one of my favorites.

Love mine. I’m weird and like to tinker with things. I modified it but hadn’t shot it yet. Took it to a ccw course and passed their test while also shooting it for the first time.

I carry one. It;s so thin at 1inch thick its easily concealable. Recoil is something you're gonna have to get used to but its not that bad once you get reps in. I also have a PRP trigger kit on mine which definitely helps.

Definitely had to put about 500 rounds through mine to make sure it was my EDC. It can be a little jumpy if your grip isn't right and you may just want to consider a different lower but I really enjoy it. I am considering trying out the prodigy out as my next EDC but I will probably stick with my Pro til I find something else.

I love the OSP for deeper concealment. At the Pro size, I prefer CZ pistols.
Recoil doesn’t bother me and is lower on my radar.

Recoils ‘snappy’.. but I would caviat and say it doesn’t seem to he a bad thing for me after shooting it for a couple hundred rounds.
I think the action just happens slightly quicker. As far as actual muzzle rise, I have no problem keeping my dot on target with a carry sized window. I actually have a little fun trying to shoot this gun fast
Love my HCP. I shoot it better than a Glock because they nailed the stippling, and personally the grip of my p365 is uncomfortably boxy for me
Like it a lot. However I like my Bg2.0 for carry more so that what I actually take most days

If you have your grip fundamentals properly tuned then it’s perfect. I EDc it and I compete with it in IDPA .
If you’re new to firearms or still working on your accuracy.. then I say go for the s&w shield plus instead.
Either way, training is everything.
FWIW I have two HCPs one solely for training/competition and the other as my EDC. Combined I’ve shot more than 13000 rounds so far with absolutely no issues
