Looking to buy, sell, advertise in South Jersey? Check out /r/SJClassified
Hey folks, your friendly neighborhood internet janitor here!
I've been removing posts from folks advertising services, selling things, and looking to buy things. It felt bad not having somewhere to direct those people to post their stuff, so I just created r/SJClassified to bridge that gap. We don't have local newspapers anymore, so it seemed like a good idea to have them here, since reddit is the "front page of the internet" and all that hot horseshit.
Keep it legal, keep it safe, and don't make me regret setting this up.

I apologize if this is not the right place for this, but my daughter wants to learn bass. We have looked into some great local places for instructions, but all of the instructors are men and my daughter seems hesitant. I am looking to see if I can find a female bass instructor.

Gloucester County Glassboro resident seeks public discussion about future of wooded land near Hidden Creek
Rich Gess and his wife walked about 1,000 miles along the same trail near Hidden Creek in Glassboro during the pandemic. The 3.5-mile trail begins just beyond the end of their street, in a wooded area that borders property owned by Rowan University near Route 322.
During his walks, Rich photographed the wildlife he encountered, including:
- 120 different bird species
- 22 species of butterflies
- Foxes and kits
- Deer
- Snakes
- Toads
According to Rich, the wooded property is owned by the Borough of Glassboro, which purchased the land after the Hidden Creek developer went bankrupt.
Recently, he noticed workers conducting surveys in the area. Some neighbors also received notices concerning NJDEP wetlands surveys, which were sent to property owners within 200 feet of the affected area.
Although no formal land use applications have been submitted by developers, Rich wants to start a conversation with Borough Council about the future of the borough-owned property and is calling for a public hearing.
He recently distributed flyers to neighbors, many of whom were unaware that environmental surveys were taking place.
Rich wants the Borough to pause and consider the importance of the natural habitat before pursuing any redevelopment plans.
His flyer, titled “Stop Hidden Creek Overdevelopment,” raises concerns about the potential loss of wildlife habitat and recreational space, as well as additional traffic in the neighborhood.
He is encouraging Glassboro residents to attend the Glassboro Borough Council meeting TONIGHT Tuesday, October 27, at 7 p.m., at the Municipal Building, 1 South Main Street, where he plans to speak during public comment.
You can view the agenda for tonight’s meeting on Glassboro’s website.
Glassboro also posts recordings of council meetings on YouTube.

Gloucester County Gas under Trump 2.0 is now more expensive than it was under Biden

Pictured: Swedesboro Citgo
(Edit:) And because some people need the evidence shoved in their fucking face: https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=emm_epm0_pte_nus_dpg&f=a

Monthly all time prior peak was $4.01 in 2022 right after the entire world economy restarted. In other words: not something a president could directly impact***.*** It also notably started moving back down to the average after that. You'll note this graph ends shortly after 2025 begins. Wonder what happens then....
Edit 2: In the interest of putting to bed the "but it hit $5.00 under biden!" crowd, you can extract the weekly data from that site through 2026, but you get it in an xls spreadsheet so you need to chart it yourself ...lets take a look, shall we?

That spike around Jun of 2022 is the ONE WEEK it hit $5.07, again, after the entire fucking economy restarted after a once in a lifetime worldwide pandemic....you'll notice it spiked for about one week, and then shot right back down. Something notably different seems to happen shortly after Feb 1, 2026.... The price jumps well above $4.00, and stays there, with the exception of a brief one-week dip, the first time trump announced a ceasefire, but before the oil companies started pricing in his weekly bullshit.

News Van Drew’s gonna pray for Norcross after Dem compared Van Drew to Hitler
Rep. Donald Norcross later apologized for the spectacle, telling the Inquirer through a spokesperson: “Whatever implications there were from my comments, I did not mean them that way. I went too far.”
The Democratic representative also called Van Drew after and apologized, the Inquirer reported.
Van Drew told the outlet that he accepted the apology but was “profoundly disappointed” in the statements, which he called “rough and inappropriate for a congressman.

Gloucester County October Connections Thread
Every couple months there is usual a thread like this. I figured I would make a new one, with a small twist. That being it doesn’t have to be dating, it can be friends or whatever you want. Just say the type of connection you are looking for!
Me: 35, M, Gloucester County. Looking for friends and long term connections, happy to chat with anyone interested my DMs are open feel free to hit me up. I’m introverted, a huge football fan (Giants), I love dogs (and animals in general), a big fan of R&B music and hiphop (especially 90s, 00 eras), and into all the typical homebody stuff, and like to take walks too. Also on a weight loss journey
Dislikes: Drama, lies, the Dallas Cowboys, coconut
Anyways, feel free to hit me up, and to everyone else that connects from this, good luck to you all also!!

News Pine Barrens found-footage horror film premiering online this Thursday Oct 29
The Pine Barrens seem like a pretty perfect setting for a found-footage horror movie.
"A couple’s phones secretly recorded their camping trip in Pinelands National Reserve on April 4, 2022, capturing fragmented audio/video of what happened. The blackouts remain as found in the footage."
From New Jersey first-time filmmaker Samuel Freeman, it's the kind of movie where different people can walk away with completely different interpretations of what they watched. Some people will love it; others will hate it.
What do you see in the dark?
We're premiering it online on The Lone Screen for one night only this Thursday, October 29 at 9p ET. After the film we'll have the Sam in the chat answering people's questions. A nice New Jersey horror film, just in time for spooky season!

Gloucester County TD Bank in Glassboro..
I absolutely hate going inside the Glassboro TD bank... Ever since TD got busted for money laundering in 2024, dealing with that bank is a nightmare.. I only stay because I don't want to deal with my direct deposit or the payments I set up.. That may change though..
I have a savings account at a different bank that I intentionally make difficult to take money from as a deterrent to not spend my savings, & they are a pleasure to do business with..
Am I just unlucky in my dealings with them or do others have issues with them?
