A Wisconsin man is facing a m*rijuana possession charge after police allegedly used Flock license plate reader cameras to monitor his travel into Michigan, where recreational m*rijuana is legal, before stopping him once he returned to Wisconsin.

According to court documents, investigators tracked Edward Abrams-Phillips’ vehicle throughout the day after noticing it traveled from Wisconsin into Michigan and back just a few hours later.

Authorities reportedly used that travel pattern as probable cause, noting that Abrams-Phillips frequently traveled to Michigan, where m*rijuana is legal, and concluded he was likely transporting m*rijuana back into Wisconsin.

Police then coordinated a traffic stop on Interstate 41, searched the vehicle, and arrested him on a possession charge. According to the filing, officers did not rely on the smell of m*rijuana or any visible evidence before the stop, but instead on the vehicle’s travel history captured by the license plate reader system

II did a quick Google around and it's interesting (although perhaps not surprising) how many cases there are of cops using this data to stalk and harass their partners, exes and just young women they like the look of.

If his lawyer is smart, that's a 4th amendment violation , as there was zero 'probable cause' than his traveling and such was marked by camera spying, not actual cops doing their fucking jobs, 'let the AI track em!'...but we'll see

So they are using it to find lost children?

Nah, didn’t think so.

I think someone said djt is personally running that team. Don't quote me on that.

There are still over 2000 of his "children in cages" missing from Trump term 1.

Trump is on the record as knowing about Epstein's activities as early as 2000, when Epstein "poached" one of his underage masseuses from Mar-a-Lago.

Virginia Giuffre was recruited by Epstein directly from Mar-a-Lago.

I firmly believe Donald J Trump trafficked children himself.

Liberated from their servitude to the clanker overlords to fulfill a much better purpose

Being torn apart for the tiny amounts of expensive metals inside to fund crack habits across the country

u/Darkarcheos Aug 07 '26

Those cameras look so alone up there, someone should make sure it is with its own kind in groups

u/Wonderful-Ad440 Aug 08 '26

I assumed they just flew away

We're dumb if we're being complacent on this issue

I was living in CO when rec was made legal.

Not long after, a neighboring state (either nebraska or kansas) sued colorado for extra needed funding for the cops that were targeting/arresting citizens crossing the border.

They were told to stop pulling citizens over, and they did not win their pathetic, whiney court case.

If weed and shrooms were legal and cops arrested all the pedophiles and human traffickers I wouldn’t mind the cameras tbh.

The fact that they have this for 2 seconds and immediately use it to arrest a guy for smoking pot is the exact reason we can’t have these.

I've already ruined one cops's life today, I'm willing to add more to that list.

Its funny me and my wife just talked about how “moving to china” feels like it would be an upgrade in many ways now. Is it a state campaign or are they getting better or is the US getting much much worse real fast?

I live in China.

It’s pretty good here. Also, I don’t need to worry about my son getting shot at school!
