Honeymoon travel tips!

Hi there, we have never been to Europe and this will be our first stop before heading to Sicily!

  1. We will be staying in Sevilla for 4 nights and I am wondering what are the must sees as well as some of the hidden gems?
  2. Is 4 nights enough, given that this will be our only stop in Spain? We have the other 10 days allocated to Sicily (4 nights Taormina, 2 nights Agrigento, 4 nights Ortigia) but technically could adjust that.
  3. Any recommendations on where to stay in Sevilla?
  4. Which day trip should we fit in?

48 yo women just moved to Seville looking to make friends

Hola all, I moved here about 3 weeks ago and I don’t know anyone here. Hoping to meet other English speaking women to hang out with, go to dinner, drinks, museums, walks, live music shows, day or weekend trips around Spain, etc. I’m into art, music, fitness, dancing, reading, cooking, traveling. I’m going to be living here for at least 6 months and I’m currently enrolled in Spanish language school but my conversation skills are beginner level so socializing in Spanish is not realistic for me yet.

If anyone wants to connect or has advice on how or where to meet people, please let me know!

P.S. I’m also open to meeting men to be friends with but I would need them to respect that it would be strictly platonic (I just got out of a relationship before moving here so I’m not ready for romantic connections). I made one male friend so far but he tried to make a move even after I told him I was only looking for friends, which was annoying and awkward.

Four nights in Seville

Hi all, I am going to Seville with my partner in beginning of November and would appreciate any recommendations as there is an overwhelming amount of bars and food spots to consider. We are massive foodies, love walks/hikes and our beer and wines.

We want to experience the local culture I love Flamenco dancing and music. Therefore, any recommendations for those types of events or anything someone the city should experience. I am open to anything and below is an idea of what I have been able to gather so far!

Bar Alfalfa, Esclava, Casa de Tigre, Aromas de San Roman, La Carboneria, Casa Marciano

Alcazar tickets 27.10. (Tuesday)

Offering 2 tickets (baby included as well in the tickets) for 20€ on Tuesday, 27.10. at 16:00.

We managed to go yesterday in the end, nobody checked for IDs at the entrance, they just scanned the code on the ticket, but I cannot guarantee that will happen on Tuesday again. They might prohibit entry in case they decide to check IDs.

In case of interest, send me a DM, payment via PayPal, then I send the tickets via email.

Holy Week in Seville is (in my opinion) the BUSIEST week in Seville (And I live there). If you do NOT want to find entire (And i am not hyping this) WALLS of people. So yeah, it is a nice event. A lot of people count down to the 9 days it hosts. There are 71 brotherhoods, each one which avg. 2 of these GIANT structures. On Sunday, monday and wednesday it is the busiest, with about 18 of these carriers.

Booking a room advice

Hi! I’ll be coming to Seville for an Erasmus internship at the beginning of February and staying for 3 months.

I’m planning to rent a room in a shared apartment and I’ve started looking already, but the options available at the moment don’t seem that great.

I’m not really sure how far in advance people usually book rooms in Seville, or Spain in general. Would it be better to book something now, or should I wait until I’m a bit closer to my arrival date and see if more options become available?

Canabota in Seville

Question for the foodies here, is Canabota in Seville worth going? I love good food but the place seemed a bit serious. My alternative is Barra Baja and espacio eslava. Any suggestions would be utmost appreciated.

New Years Eve

Hi all! My brother and I are both in our late 20s and will be visiting with our mom for a few days in December and one of those happens to be NYE.

For a relaxed evening that includes maybe some tapas and drinks, will we need to make reservations? I have looked at a couple of tapas bars online and so far am not seeing the possibility to reserve on NYE. Any and all guidance is appreciated.

Places to stay and things to do

Hi everyone! I am coming to Seville from the 1st of November up until the 22nd of November with my wife and a 3 year old kid. I am looking to rent a place with parking because i will have a car. Do you have any recommendations for a hotel or an apartment that is close to the center or somewhere (we were thinking Plaza de España) where my girls can walk to see things and explore on foot. I will try not to use the car that much and that is why i would like a parking place included in a rented place.

What are your thoughts about public transport and can you pay for it by card?

And then if you have recommendations for food, places to visit or shopping malls for some shopping spree please don't hesitate to write!

I can't wait to go to Seville.

Thank you in advance!

Aggressive and Ignorant Drivers?

A lot of the drivers here are very aggressive out in the road and don't pay attention to pedestrians crossing the road.

It's not helpful that they purposefully turn off their lights (blinkers, headlights) despite being in roundabouts.

It's probably my own experience that's speaking but the driving in southern Spain seems less civilized than in northern Spain.

Jobs in Seville

I’m a musician and A&R who’s going to be in Seville for about 2 months. While on my off time I’d like to find a job that can pay straight cash. I don’t mind not earning crazy as long as it’s fair for the work I’m doing. I’m fluent in Spanish and English and know a bit of French. For anyone also looking to connect in the music or art world I’ll be hitting a few cities in Europe for a few projects so it would be cool to connect with like minded creatives.

Missed Connection: Looking for the girl on the Sevilla-Cádiz train (April 25th) who lent me her MacBook charger

EDIT/CONTEXT: I know this happened 6 months ago (back in April). I originally posted this in a closed, private Facebook group right after the trip, but I just realized nobody outside that group could ever see it or find it on Google. I'm posting it here now as a last resource to leave an open anchor on the web, just in case she or a friend ever searches for these train details. Thank you all for the upvotes and support!

Hello everyone. I’m trying to find a kind young woman (English speaker) who was on the Sevilla-Cádiz train (Renfe MD 13010) on Saturday, April 25th.

I was sitting in Car 2, Seat 76, and she was in the window seat directly across from me.

She shared her white MacBook multi-charger with me because my phone was dead. She literally saved my day, as I had no other way to contact the people picking me up at San Fernando (Bahía Sur) station. I got off there and she continued her trip, probably all the way to Cádiz.

I just want to say thank you properly for such a kind gesture! If you are this person, know her, or if you were on that train and remember anything, please send me a DM.

Keywords for Google search: Renfe MD 13010, Media Distancia Sevilla Cadiz, San Fernando Bahia Sur, Car 2 Seat 76, MacBook charger train, missed connections Andalucia, Expats Cadiz.
