i’ll be dropping $3k on a laptop

ill be driving 45 minutes each way to save 4% or $120

the tax rate out here too much.

As we head to the home stretch for election day, I’m doing my diligence on the choices for City Council. And was shocked to come across two Instagram posts featuring Councilmember Lana Negrete at RFK Jr. campaign events, posing with Kennedy at one and Jenny McCarthy in another.

As a father with young children, RFK Jr & Jenny McCarthy’s history of promoting dangerous vaccine misinformation makes this incredibly concerning and disqualifying

Has she publicly addressed this?

Lost black male cat with tipped ear and missing fur on nose. He literally went missing the night he was adopted by someone in Santa Monica! I am very devastated as the cat was very attached to me. he had been a stray I took in but couldn’t keep (my cat attacked him)
This really sucks as the cat was from over here in Glendora which is pretty far and VERY different than hectic Santa Monica. I’ve gone out there searching three times since October 21st when he went missing and yes I’ve put up posters and online PawBoost etc

anyone know why theres a police helicopter thats been circling one block around 14th st & montana for the past 20 mins? what’s going on?

LAPD chopper doing 25+ circles with the searchlight on over and around 15th and Idaho/Montana. Loud af and not catching their target, it seems. I'm out with the dog and avoiding the laneways. Stay safe, folks!

Anyone have any insight to living at sway apartments in Santa Monica? (525 broadway) Everything I see is from a few years ago. Hoping to get some feedback based on current experience. I also feel people only post reviews when they have negative things to say, not positive. So just hoping for some genuinely helpful insight. I really enjoyed my tour.

All the newer builds around there are more expensive and frankly units are too small for the price. I do tend to lean toward complexes that are gated for safety reasons. If anyone has any other recommendations for good experiences, I’d welcome any feedback!

In honor of all the cyclist who flood Santa Monica with their tears over cars parking in bike lanes and how scary it is for them I give to you this Santa Monica bike rider. Phone was in my pocket so didn’t get a shot of the cars who had to avoid him in their lanes as he road against traffic down the middle of Pico, but you get the idea.

At least he wasn’t riding on the side walk and hey look how pretty that sunset is.

I’m moving back to Santa Monica after several years away. I’m considering renting an apartment in this building, “the surf rider” near 4th and Ashland. Any thoughts/advice about the neighborhood or building? The management company recently transitioned from Optimus Properties to Scott properties. Thanks in advance!

I’m a mid 30s guy and considering a move to Santa Monica and whether it makes sense for me. I live in el segundo currently and honestly love it. Has the small town feel, I’d incredibly clean, dog friendly, beach nearby, and easy freeway access. I’ve lived in LA county for a over a decade but always much further south (Hermosa, Manhattan. redondo, and long beach).

As mentioned, I love my neighborhood! But there is a part of me that wants to try the west side life when I’m still in my 30s. A lot of el segundo is families and I’ve found it a bit difficult to find a friend group my age.

Rent isn’t an issue, but I’m curious about overall quality of life differences. Is having friends come up a royal pain due to parking? How dog friendly is Santa Monica? I have a 100lb puppy who needs lots of exercise.

Would be curious to hear from folks that have lived in the South Bay and also SM.

I used to go back in the day, but haven't been back since they closed down. I moved out of Santa Monica earlier this year so I haven't had a chance to check it out. How's the new bar? Same vibes?

Have 3 nights in LA before heading to San Diego.

Overwhelmed with options. Looking for more of a beach style vacay with restaurants, bars. Looked into Santa Monica, is it a safe area? Not opposed to staying in other areas. We aren’t huge celeb/movie people. We come from a cold climate so we like the warmth and sand and ocean. Also like to have a good time, music, drinks. Any help is appreciated. I know it’s a great distance to cover.
