I been playing SOCOM II on emulator for a while and was good with it. It's the real game and I didnt really see a reason to switch. I heard about SOCOM Classic but kind of wrote it off as another ai project.. why not just play the original?

Said fk it .. Jumped in yesterday and enjoyed it. It doesn't feel like a rough idea of SOCOM. Feels like people who actually played sat down and rebuilt it. Actually looking forward to seeing where its heading. Something like this can actually make the game better.. fixes, balance tweaks, new players. That's the stuff that could bring the scene back big instead of just keeping it on life support. But I don’t like playing against mouse and keyboard but I did see a lobby set for controllers only which I appreciate bcuz I was playing some other games that didn’t have that option.

I’ll probably be playing some more.

We're the hardcore, and even we can't be bothered to play these new gen remakes. Maybe the one on PS5 takes off, but anything that requires a discord is doomed.

I think we need a game that seriously lowers the barrier to entry. Browser based, controller and free.

Just want to clarify with many, we have had many many remakes, mods and devs trying to recreate the magic of SOCOM! Pretty much all have failed us.

Currently we have: Originals

The reversed engineered versions, disc to PC versions, emulator, SOCOM classic and SOCOM Legacy. Nothing wrong with OG’s being replayed, and kept on the shelf for ages. They are our favorite games of all time! It’s a great story! For me it’s not for me anymore. I have all the disc and consoles wrapped up nice and tidy put away.

The failed attempts, mods that robbed us of money: I mean we donated for a dream right? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Peak 53(had fun but dev killed it)

People are worried, will they take our money, will Sony shut them down are they Ai. Simply research and you will find, that these next two games are golden! Nothing to worry about. Sony doesn’t own the rights to much and regardless of what each are using and choosing how to be developed, we are in good hands.

These two projects have promise, bringing my top 2 titles of the SOCOM series in their own way to my library and I’m excited!! You should be too!!

It’s wrong to rip animations and code from another game and make money off of someone else’s work. If you’re really a fan of what Zipper did with the early SOCOM games this should bother you.

How many times has this community gone through this same song and dance? What has stuck around? Not these small closed projects that promise the next version of SOCOM. What’s lasted are they free open source projects like PCSX2. Just my 2 cents. People are free to do what they want but this is very blatant.

How can you accept money in good faith on assets that are not yours?

CodeDesigner assembles and disassembles the Emotion Engine (MIPS R5900), debugs games live in its own PCSX2 fork or PX86, builds and ports cheats, edits game assets and runs online servers. An MCP server gives AI assistants the same tools, so a person and an assistant can work on the same game at the same time. The client can watch the AI work by turning on AI mode.

How many of you played the socom mod on CSGO/Insurgency back in 2015-2017? It was the best experience you could have but the main dev was mentally ill.

Zero Ops is fully AI generated and you will have to pay for it.. this is ridiculous. I was going to support this game but paying for this? SERIOUSLY? Make it free to play like Socom Classic
