In other words, which anomaly is significantly overrated in terms of the danger it poses?

This might be a controversial opinion, but I think SCP-055 fits the bill.

Sure, we don’t know what it is, who it is, or where it comes from, and we forget about it all the time, but if it were truly dangerous, the world would have ended by now. Since we’re still here and everything is normal, and the world hasn’t ended, I don’t think it’s actually that dangerous.

It’s not exactly an easy entity to contain, but it’s highly overrated, as it poses no long-term danger.

I've recently been reading 20th Century Boys and was wondering if there's any SCP that gives off a similar vibe to Friend.

I'm not looking for a 1:1 equivalent, but rather an SCP that:

• influences events from the shadows
• has a mysterious or hidden identity
• gains a devoted following or cult-like influence
• feels more like a mastermind than a physical threat

Basically, an SCP where the idea, movement, or person behind it is as dangerous as the anomaly itself.

Does anything come to mind?

Hey guys, so I recently started to get really into the Scp lore and I’m amazed on how much information there is.
This raises 2 questions that have been in my mind:
1. How do you guys keep track of what you read and have not? Or you just don’t bother and read randomly?
2. Do you not feel a sense of need to read everything just to know everything that there is to know?
My experience is that I just go into random rabbit holes and start reading from there. For example, the integration program kept me in the same place and I learned so many different Scps. But I always feel like I’m missing a whole world of scps out there and don’t have the memory to remember everything I want. What’s your strategy like?
3. I feel like I’ve always been a artistic person. Drawing and cinema were always my ways of expressing myself. And I have a hard time with so many amazing stories within the Scp community that I just can’t move on from some stories without drawing it. I just feel a big urge to do something with that amazing story but don’t have the time or money to do the filming I wished in my head.
Is this a common problem with people? Am I alone in this strange feeling?

A shame, how it ended...

Hello! Very enthusiastic TTRPG and anomaly horror nerd here. I’m currently creating a call of Cthulhu campaign for each site and area that the SCP-foundation owns. I was looking through the site and area dossier and realised that site-5 was on the list but apparently it doesn’t exist? Every article that mentions it has no explanation other than it doesn’t exist, and the actual SCP article it explicitly states for the dossier to read doesn’t say much other than “oh hey, site-5 doesn’t exist and there is this stupid anomaly that keeps on insisting that site-5” exists. Apparently SCP-9923 is also contained at site-5 (or was at least on the crossed out list of anomalies contained at site-5) and I’ve read the whole article and I’m still lost. If a really nice guy could help me out here I would be very thankful. Thanksz and have a beautiful day, night or afternoon wherever you are :]

After years of struggle, I just decided to go ahead and do this now.

I tried to be creative.

I based them on jesters and ballerinas; I like to think of them as extremely theatrical and walking on tiptoe most of the time.

Extremely annoying too.

Didn't like the chibified fan model I made of it.

I think most SCPs can be pretty much easy to kill like with a flamethrower or nuke, I think the SCP foundation has the resources to do that since, they have personnel around the globe and somehow a lot of D-class.
