Discussion Lower falls clean up?
Hey all, I go to RIT and regularly fish for salmon and steelhead below Lower Falls. It's such a beautiful place in the heart of Rochester, but the trash is really bad. Is there any way to organize a clean-up? Just curious, want to do my part to make Rochester a little nicer.

Recommendation Nearby stargazing
I need to remember the unfathomable scale of the universe. I haven’t had many chances to see many stars since moving to New York. What are the best places to see many stars near the city? Thank you

Event Voting Downtown
If you're downtown, early voting site at the Staybridge Suites is right on the 16 bus line which runs every 15 minutes! Just voted and was in and out quickly. Only had to wait 5 minutes for the bus home.

Discussion Are there any Halloween events happening ON Saturday the 31st itself? Most events I'm seeing are just on Friday
For Halloween being a Saturday, I'm surprised I'm not coming across more events on the actual day. Am I not looking in the right places?
I am going to the Strong Museum of Play for the adult Halloween costume night on Friday though, and I'm very much looking forward to it.

Recommendation Selling to Once Upon a Child vs Kid to Kid
I have some kids clothes, toys, baby stuff, etc I’d like to try and make a little money off of (to turn around and buy more kids clothes!) I know I won’t make a ton, but I’m willing to go through the “hassle” of selling to one of these places. I am wondering if anyone has any experience to share with Once Upon a Child and/or Kid to Kid? I’ve shopped at both, but never tried selling items so I’m not sure which would give me more bang for my buck!

Discussion Running for political office? Maybe make sure your website is finished first.
ferrisforfuture.comIn an effort to educate myself on my local candidates (including the NY 137 assembly district) I decided to visit their websites and compare policy goals and vibes. Meeks’s site was fine if vanilla.
However, when looking at Dave Ferris‘s site on my desktop I couldn’t help but notice the strange formatting at the top right, where a bunch of options are smushed together and on top of each other. The main page reads fine but if you can manage to click on “platform”, you’re taken to what is clearly a boilerplate page full of vague (and progressive?) platitudes.
But it gets worse! Scroll down and you’ll see testimonials from people who totally exist espousing the virtues of…Jordan Sterling? Who may or may not be running for mayor? Is this an alter ego? The Batman to Ferris’s Bruce Wayne?
I thought maybe it was simply meant to be looked at on my phone, and sure enough the “platform” option is collapsed into a hidden hamburger menu in the top right. I guess maybe that’s better if it’s harder to find. Additionally, there’s a logo in the top left that says “Political Campaign Pro”, which I can’t find any reference to, with poor contrast to the top blue banner.
Whether it’s WordPress boilerplate or a vibecoded site, I’m not impressed. If this is the effort you’re putting into running your campaign, how much can I expect you to put into your work in Albany?

Discussion Scott's for Photo Book?
Hi all! I was hoping to make a printed photo book (kinda like from Mixbook etc.) but was considering ordering it through Scott's to support a local business. Does anyone have any experience printing a full book through them? Anything I should know? I'm slightly concerned about quality since there don't seem to be many of review of their photo books out there.

Help Single dad
I never thought I’d be posting on an forum for help.
I’m a single parent of two. We have fallen on hard times. Bills are paid thankfully. But we are scraping by when it comes to food. I went to two food pantries two weeks ago and that didn’t last us very long.
I’m looking to see if anyone has any additional resources or even any food that they don’t plan on eating if they could drop off to us a Walmart order anything we are struggling bad right now and I know I’m not the only person on earth struggling but I figured I’d reach out here for some help.
Thank you.

Help Part Time Jobs?
I'm sure others are struggling, like I am, just by the day to day conversations I have with people in my same situation.
Are there any jobs hiring for evening - night jobs.
Looking for anything really as long as it's 5pm-6pm start to close.
I have experience in retail, food, serving, finance and senior living homes.
I have a well established 8am-430pm , sometimes 530pm mon-fri job with potential of working 8am-1230pm on saturdays only.
I need to fill the rest of my day with more work..
I used to juggle three jobs 5am-12am during the pandemic so a broad schedule doesnt bother me.
The only hard time I am having is I work in the village of webster but live out towards meigs street. I do have transportation but the drive is jarring sometimes.
Any suggestions?

Food Cinnamon rolls with raisins
Used to be able to find them everywhere, now I can't find one to save my life. I'm looking for the kind with the thick white glaze on top, specifically but I'll take what I can get. Haven't found them at Sunny's, Ridge, or Donuts Delite.
Any other places to try? Thank you in advance!

Other HIGH BEAMS
Why is it all of a sudden everyone is driving with high beams on. And yes, I know lights are brighter on newer cars, but I shouldn't see someone's front door with your car lights. If they go wider than the road or the little blue light on your dash is on, your high beams are on. And they are only necessary in the country where there are no street lights!!! And out of common courtesy, you should turn them off briefly when a car is coming in the opposite direction.
Let's just normalize driving etiquette again. 😁
Thats is all. Thanks
