This is a new Smash Burger spot that opened up on Hole where Los Fredros was. For as long as I can remember, it was Alberto's or some Alberto knockoff. This side of Riverside doesn't have much in the way of burgers. Georges, Nikos, Boy's & Johnny Jr are all decent enough, but nothing I ever get excited about having. Today was my 1st time here, so this isn't a real review, it's an initial impression. I need to eat here 2-3 times to really get a feel for it and see how consistant it is.

First, I'm glad it's here, the various Mexican places that have been for the past 15 years have been okay at best. The menu's small, smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, dirty fries (fries, sauce, grilled onions, cheese and 2 smash patties) sodas and shakes. They have an old school hand shake machine with the metal cups. I didn't have one, but I bet they're good. I watched the lady making 1 from scratch.

I paid $13 for a double combo, not cheap but not too expensive. The fries were exceptional. Thin and perfectly crispy, they needed salt, but once I added some they were money. The dirty fries should be great. They were piping hot when I got my order.

The burger was on the smaller side for a double, but that's just how smash burgers are. The edges of the patties were crispy, and the bun was nicely toasted. It was good, but not great. Perhaps trying it again will boost my score. It was however, MUCH better than somewhere like Georges or Nikos. I got a side of their spicy aioli, which was Thousand Island with something like chili powder in it. It was alright but nothing special. They have self serve yellow chilis to cover your needs for some spice. The burger sauce is regular Thousand Island. It works fine but it's the same as almost every other burger spot. I have a big back mentality so I wished it was a little bigger, I'll order a triple next time. There's no triple on the menu, but I'm sure you can add another patty for $3 or something.

Everything tasted fresh and it took about 10 minutes to get my order. I don't mind waiting for food that's made to order. They're open 11-11.

For anyone who doesn't know where Alberto's was, it's on Hole across the street from the post office. I'll be going back soon to try the dirty fries and an Oreo shake.

This is kind of a bad location, not a ton of traffic, and I'm sure a lot of people remember it being bland ass Alvartos, Caliburtos or Los Fredros. I swear I just had a Flaming Hot burrito from here last month, but it's probably been 3-4 lol.

If you like smash burgers you should definitely go try it. At least on my 1st visit, the burger wasn't as good as Nice Guys burger on Brockton. But it was still solid, and the fries were excellent.

They had hands down the best rotisserie chicken. Way better than Juan Pollo and el pollo loco. Google says temporary closed but don't see any indication they are returning
