TPCI has a bigger % of the profit but Tencent wanted more.. Hence they developed the chinese version but it didn't generate the profit they wanted and Tencent wants out..

Discussion Pokémon Unite is over and I am glad.

Like honestly, yeah I have a couple of good memories playing the game, but what ruined it for me was the broken ranking system and the player base constantly screwing up.

After a while, the game caused me nothing but misery, so I deleted the app and never looked back.

Yall can cry but I won't.

Credit to TheSeventhOne for the meme, sorry I stole it!

I'm not sad that we are losing the game we have, I'm sad because of the potential it had. Every opportunity they had they squandered.

Even something like the horrific menu load times would have helped.

Man I am going to miss this game. This was always my pick up and play game. Stopped playing maybe earlier this year when I saw all the changes with the pkmn license and the option of choosing different moves was removed. Still enjoy it and if be playing until the game shuts off.

Really glad I didn't spend money on it but I did invest my time.

Discussion What's perhaps most upsetting is that there is no real alternative to this game.

There is currently no other Pokemon game in which you have real-time battles and full control of the Pokemon themselves.

There is the Mystery Dungeon remake where you control the Pokemon directly but that's turn-based.

There is Legends ZA which is real-time, but you don't have full control of the Pokemon themselves.

Unite filled a niche that no other game has. Sucks to see it go because there was nothing else like it. I know Pokken Tournament existed but that's a fighting game hardly anyone played...

Discussion This game technically saved my life.

Due to the EoS announcement: I would like to share how Pokémon unite saved my life.

February 19th 2023. I’m scrolling through TikTok when I come across a video of someone called “ManMan” getting a penta with Greninja. I post a comment on the video and go through some more of the persons videos since they were one of the only English unite players I had encountered randomly. ManMan invites me to a discord server with a few other people who also loves pokemon unite, and I thought this would just be a 2 weeks deal and I’d forget about them.

I was so god damn wrong. The server that ManMan invited me to was what introduced me to the online friend group I would come to cherish and savour every single memory with, even if it had nothing to do with pokemon unite. The Pokemon unite ranked matches where we got beaten into oblivion, the gartic phone games, watching the Pokemon movies together, doing Scarlet and Violet union circles, doing Sword and Shield dynamax adventures in the crown tundra and even meeting up with one of the people in this friend group in real life to play Pokemon go fest.

At the lowest points in my life: it was this group that stopped me from making a stupid, irreversible decision because I couldn’t picture a world where I’m absent from their lives because we were literally united together as an unstoppable friend group, and they even helped me become a much better person over all, and still to this day do we regularly talk.

If it weren’t for pokemon unite: i would’ve never been able to unite with such a strong group of friends, and so I thank this game and the friends I made for saving my life.

Community Creations Unite recreation by JustMarcy on Twitter

JustMarcy on Twitter made a Unite recreation a few years ago and has been working on it for some time. They even added new mons.

I don’t know the future of their project, nor if it solves anything, but it looks really cool.

Any Flygon fans here? You can finally play as your favourite mon!

I always thought Sandslash would have been a great addition. I truly had fun playing this game. It’s a shame there’s nothing like this on the market. Why couldn’t they just balance the Pokémon. Instead of bringing out a new Pokémon every two weeks.

I’m actually so sad the game will be gone soon, but i’m honestly really thankful for this final sale. I’ve been obsessed with this holowear ever since I saw it after returning to unite a while ago, and this was really the only one I really wanted out of all the other holowears. (And I only had 160 gems so I could just buy one) and today I finally got it! Again I’m devastated the game will be going away, but I want to have some fun before we don’t actually get to play it anymore. Do you guys think I made a good decision? Also, I would love to know what yours got with the coupon.

Discussion Goodbye to my favorite game ever

Post image
142 Upvotes

I played this game since it launched. I was so happy and excited when I found out about it as a long time Pokemon and DOTA player. What a brilliant idea to make a pokémon MOBA and on top of that to limit the matches to 10 minutes. Absolutely brilliant.

The obvious issues were matchmaking and new Pokemon balance. I still won't understand why I, being in the top 1000 players in the world was playing with people that only had a couple hundred games and didn't know what they were doing at all. There are no other ranked PVP games that I'm aware of that allow new players to play with top ranked players. The overtuned new Pokemon make sense to a point, but it was allowed to last for too long in some cases and became painful for the entire community.

The Eevee favoritism was also very overwhelming.

Removing coins and adding the license journey was just a stupid idea.

Aside from matchmaking, my biggest issue with this game was that there was no punishment for people who griefed the game or went afk. I just can't understand this at all because all other ranked PVP games have some sort of system in place to punish players for ruining the game for everyone else.

I do want to commend them though for removing the EX Pokemon. That was ridiculous that that even existed in the first place and made the game very unbalanced.

I will miss this game so much. If anyone knows a good MOBA with short matches other than DOTA in turbo mode please let me know.

Discussion Pokémon UNITE wasn't just a game to me. I genuinely hope it gets a second chance.

I was most probably one of the first guys to download Pokémon UNITE here in Manipur, India, and man, this game holds a special place in my heart.

No matter how bad my days were, UNITE never failed to change my mood. Whenever I was feeling down or had a lot on my mind, I'd just hop on the game and somehow feel better. It's hard to explain, but this game carries so many emotions and memories for me that it's become much more than just a game.

What hurts the most is seeing something that brought so many people together get ruined by greed and a lack of attention to the community. UNITE built such an amazing community, not just in India but all around the world. People made friends, shared unforgettable moments, and found happiness in something as simple as playing a game together.

I genuinely believe this game deserves another chance. The developers should listen to the players, address the problems, and give the game the love and attention it deserves. I'm not asking for perfection. I just want to see UNITE become something great again.

It's honestly heartbreaking to watch a game that meant so much to so many people end up like this.

Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but I really miss what UNITE used to be and what it could have become.

I hope one day we get to see Pokémon UNITE rise again. Not just for the game itself, but for the community and all the memories we've made along the way. ❤️‍🩹

Discussion Everyone please remember this may be some peoples first time experiencing a game shutting down

So with that said, its ok to be upset and feel betrayed, its ok to cry from being frustrated its the "end of the game" but If its youre first time rest assured usually the games come back in a private sever form or offline download..but unless theyve found a way progress will be lost but if its compleatly offline and cracked everything should be unlocked.

***Idk if itll make anyone feel better but can we all write about our first game we experienced shutting down and the good memories of those games?**

My first was Tales Runner! Man that game was so much fun, it was a fairy tale style racing game but it was a footrace and you had to tap keys to run faster. you could have your own house and make armor from collecting special items from certian fairy tale races and there were huuuge dm events, i actually made the top 3 in one! Skipped school for it and everything lmao

i got all the characters unlocked too from doing those online serveys back then (if you know you remembr them!!) My fav character was maki a girl haunted by a ghost but funny bit was instead of running maki would be rolled and pulled by the ghost

Here's the vid link if someone wanna watches it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/QMD-bqD6_JU

It breaks the rule 10 of self promotion, it's not my vid but my friend's (NOT lying, I swear on my luca) so still posting it, if it gets removed I'll post it again without the link

Discussion What MOBAs are we going to play once Unite shuts down?!

I am SO sad that unite is going to shut down next March. I have played the game for 5 years and it is still my favourite game where I go to decompress and have a bit of time to myself as a working mum of 2 young boys!! So many memories attached to that game and one that my husband and I both play together too as we have two Switch consoles in the house! I really need recommendations for some similar MOBA style games that can be played on Switch or PlayStation. I tried LoL once before on PC and didn't like it tbh - do I have to just suck it up and try to get myself into that or are there better alternatives out there?!

Signed - one sad mumma 💔

Discussion Pokémon UNITE deserved better

I honestly don't even know what to say anymore.

When I first heard the EOS rumours, I kept hoping they weren't true. I thought about the upcoming updates, the new Pokémon we could get, the Battle Passes, and all the things we still had to look forward to. I genuinely believed UNITE would continue.

But now that the end is official, it hurts in a way I didn't expect.

Pokémon UNITE wasn't just another mobile game to me. It was a game I spent countless hours playing, a place where I made great friends, and a source of so many fun memories. Some of the most enjoyable moments weren't even about winning matches. They were about messing around with friends, laughing at ridiculous situations, and having fun together.

That's what makes this so painful. It's not just the loss of a game. It's knowing that a place where so many of us made memories will eventually disappear.

And I can't help thinking about the potential this game had. It's POKÉMON. An enormous universe of beloved characters, combined with an accessible MOBA that could have continued growing for years. There was so much more that could have been done with it.

I wish the developers had listened more closely to the community, improved progression, made earning Aeos Coins less frustrating, and given players more reasons to stay.

I know the game had its problems. We all complained about matchmaking, balancing, monetisation, and plenty of other things. But despite all of that, we kept coming back because there was something special about UNITE.

I'm not writing this because I think the game was perfect. I'm writing this because I genuinely loved it, and I wish things had turned out differently.

Thank you to everyone who made this game special, especially the friends I met along the way.

Pokémon UNITE deserved more time. We deserved more time. ❤️💔
