Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Playtester [Recruiting Playtesters] A Dark Fantasy Action RPG with a Storybook Art Style

Hey everyone!

I'm an indie developer working on Bloodfyre Chronicles, a dark fantasy action RPG built in Godot.

Visually, the game draws inspiration from the toy-like, handcrafted aesthetic of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake, featuring colorful environments, stylized characters, and a detailed fantasy world.

But don't let the charming visuals fool you.

Bloodfyre Chronicles explores much darker themes as the story progresses, including corruption, death, kidnapping, mutilation, sinister cults, and the destruction of once-beautiful places.

The contrast between the world's appearance and the darkness consuming it is an intentional part of the experience.

The game features:

  • Real-time RPG combat and character progression
  • Exploration across handcrafted fantasy regions
  • A dragon companion and its progression
  • Powerful Divine Beasts tied to the world's story
  • An increasingly dark narrative involving corruption and sacrifice
  • Secrets, environmental storytelling, and challenging encounters

I'm currently looking for 5–10 dedicated playtesters.

I'm not looking for people to simply tell me the game looks good. I want honest, constructive criticism from players who enjoy analyzing gameplay and helping indie projects improve.

I'm particularly interested in feedback on combat, exploration, difficulty, progression, pacing, atmosphere, and how well the game's visual style supports its darker themes.

Initial sessions will be approximately 20–30 minutes, with a short feedback form afterward. Ideally, I'd like to find a few people willing to participate in ongoing testing as development continues.

This is an early-stage project, so expect unfinished systems, bugs, and significant changes.

If you're interested, comment or DM me with your favorite action RPGs and any previous playtesting experience.

I'm especially interested in hearing from players who appreciate dark fantasy, strong storytelling, and games that aren't afraid to take unexpected turns.

Unpaid Playtest Android Matching Game

• Upvotes

Hello everyone, I have a game coming out that is a match 3 style game, think Candy Crush or Bejeweled. The theme is potions and magic. I'm getting a google group prepared for Closed Testing, for those who don't know I need 12 testers to play a few times at during a 2 week period. They can overlap as long as during that 2 weeks there are 12 minimum, and people stay opt-in for 2 weeks.

I'll make a post on there when Closed Testing begins, and it should send an email to you and everyone in the group. Nobody can see each others emails in this group.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters for a first-person rhythm game (free, ~15 min, university study)

• Upvotes

Hi! I’m a Computer Science student at the University of Granada (Spain) and, for my Bachelor’s thesis, I’ve made INF-HARTO, a first-person rhythm game. You carry a heart in your hand and have to make it beat to the rhythm of the music while you run, jump and dodge obstacles. Every beat on time gives you energy, and every action spends it.

I’m running a study about how the difficulty of the energy affects the player’s experience, and I need playtesters. It takes about 15 minutes. First there’s a tutorial and then two short runs. When you finish, the rest of the game unlocks too.

How I collect feedback:

  • After each run, the game asks a few short questions (1 to 7).
  • At the end, a short final questionnaire opens in Google Forms.
  • Any other comment, bug or suggestion is very welcome here in the comments.

Requirements:

  • It’s free, for Windows and Linux, and it’s in English and Spanish.
  • You need a mouse with left and right buttons (it can’t be played with a touchpad), and headphones or speakers are recommended.
  • You must be 18 or older. The data the game sends is anonymous. It’s only identified by a random code, and no personal data is collected.

Note: Under the "CONFIGURACIÓN" menu in the game, you can change your language to english!

Link: https://quartenion.itch.io/inf-harto?ref=playtesters

Thanks a lot for helping!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for testers: Bannerfall – Tiny Battle (iPhone & Android, free)

• Upvotes

Hi! I'm a solo indie dev from Austria working on a small strategy game, and I'm looking for players to test it before release. What is it? Build an army of up to six units, hold off waves of goblins, orcs and the undead, and tear down the enemy castle. Every level-up in battle lets you pick one of three cards – new units, abilities or spells – so no two battles play the same. 22 units to collect, each transforms twice as it ascends A forge: weapons and armor with fire, ice, poison, lightning or light 6 worlds, a boss dungeon, element dungeons and a weekly tournament No energy system, ads only if you choose them How to join (takes 2 minutes): iPhone: Install Apple's free "TestFlight" app, then open this link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/FJttqMWU Android: Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/bannerfall-tester Open this link and tap "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/de.jakobehmann.bannerfall Install the game from Google Play (the link there takes you straight to it). One request for Android: Google requires testers to stay in the test group for at least 14 days before I'm allowed to publish. You don't have to play every day – just don't leave the group.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid][Android 7+][Spanish] Tower-defense playtest: touch controls, difficulty and save/relaunch

I'm looking for volunteer players for Bastión del Bosque, a fantasy tower-defense game in Spanish currently available through Google Play closed testing. The beta includes 50 campaign levels, three difficulty settings and local saves. It is free, with no ads or in-app purchases.

Requirements: an Android 7.0+ phone/tablet with Google Play, and comfort reading Spanish. Participation is unpaid and voluntary.

What to try: play the opening levels, place and upgrade towers, try another difficulty, then close and reopen the game to check that progress persists. I'd like honest notes on confusing controls, difficulty spikes, performance or bugs. A short first session is useful; if you join the closed test, please remain opted in for 14 consecutive days and return for several sessions. You do not need to complete all 50 levels.

How to get access, using the SAME Google account:

  1. Join https://groups.google.com/g/bastion-del-bosque-testers

  2. Open https://play.google.com/apps/testing/io.makoliencuarta.bastion, accept the test and follow the installation link.

Please reply here with feedback: what you tried, what happened, what you expected, and your phone model/Android version if relevant. Don't post account emails or other private details. If either signup step fails, tell me the error message and I'll help. No purchases, ratings, store reviews, votes or test swaps are requested. AI-assisted code and artwork are used in the project. Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, ~20 min] Looking for 10 first-time Fortigon testers — tower defense + first-person combat

I'm Fortigon's creator, and I'm looking for about 10 people who haven't played it to test the opening and give honest feedback. This is an unpaid, voluntary playtest; no purchase is required. The full game is paid, but this request is only for the free demo.

Fortigon combines tower defense with first-person combat: build and upgrade towers from above, then deploy a commander and fight alongside your defenses. The demo has one 15-wave map, all 10 tower types, and Vanguard or Artificer. You can test solo or with up to three friends.

Platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS and Android. Download/install required; it is not a browser game.

Time: about 20 minutes. You don't need to finish the map, and stopping early is useful feedback too.

Download the free demo — scroll to Download demo.

I'm especially interested in:

  1. Where did you first feel confused, frustrated or bored?
  2. Did fighting as the commander feel useful alongside the towers?
  3. Would you play another run? Why or why not?

Please reply in this thread with your platform, whether you played solo/co-op, and a few honest impressions. Screenshots or recordings are optional. No Discord signup or email is needed to give feedback. In-game analytics is optional and can be declined.

Development disclosure: made in Godot with AI-assisted development. Critical feedback is welcome; I'm trying to learn what needs improving.

Paid Playtest Looking for playtesters for my Roblox game 200 robux for 15 minutes

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a Roblox game called Wave Is Coming! 🌊 When the tide goes out, you run onto the seabed and grab treasure like shells, old coins and rare pearls, then race back to shore before the wave crashes in. If it catches you, you lose your whole backpack. The coins you earn go into decorating your own beach hut, and you can visit other players' huts too.

It's ready for public beta, and I want to make sure the gameplay is actually fun with no bugs before I pay ads on it.

I'm looking for 5 people to play and record their gameplay for about 15 minutes and share honest first impressions. I'm especially curious:
- Was it easy to understand what to do?
- Did the wave feel exciting or unfair?
- Would you want to keep playing?
- Did you find any bugs on it?
- Does the game feels balanced?

DM me for the link and give me ur thoughts there. Bugs and negative feedback are more than welcome.

Its 16+ for now, since that's Roblox's rule for new games.

Thanks! :)

Unpaid Playtest [Windows PC] Looking for unpaid playtesters for my free solo/co-op survival roguelite, Arena Siege Survivors

Hey everyone, I'm Jubs, the creator of Arena Siege Survivors.

It's a free solo/co-op survival roguelite built around WoW-style combat: pick a class, actively use your abilities, fight through waves, and put together your build. There are online leaderboards if you enjoy pushing your runs further.

I'm looking for fresh players to try it and tell me how the first experience feels. Even 15-20 minutes would help, but there's no required commitment.

Was getting into your first run straightforward? Did combat and your abilities make sense? What was fun, confusing, or frustrating?

It's completely free, with no microtransactions. This is an unpaid playtest, and you can leave feedback right here in the comments. Just looking for some gamers to have a good time and help me make the game better.

Gameplay and Windows download: https://arenasiege.com/

For transparency, this is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Blizzard, and I use AI tools during development.

Thanks to anyone who gives it a go. I'd love to hear how your run went.

Paid Playtest [Paid $20 via PayPal, browser, 90 min, recorded] Looking for 1 or 2 testers for my Horror/Puzzle game

EDIT: Holy cow, that's a lot of people

EDIT2: I'll wait until 5 pm berlin time and pick one. Please put effort in your response. Ideally write at least 5 sentences about why I should pick you, your previous expierence and if possible a link to previous work. It's still possible I might look for a second tester down the line but I won't guarantee it.

It's a game where you get stalked by a monster sensitive to light and solve puzzles (you get left alone when solving puzzles). The puzzles are mostly about experimenting with buttons and such than having to come up with a clever solution, though some definitely require a bit of thinking.

If you're interested, drop a comment and I might DM you.

Microphone not required if you write down all your thoughts afterwards.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for beta testers for Thornwake, a free dark-fantasy idle RPG (Android APK + browser)

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev building Thornwake, an idle hunting RPG set in the Briar, a forest kingdom swallowed by thorns. It's playable now, and I'm looking for beta testers to help me find bugs, balance the game and polish it before a wider launch.

What it is

4 classes, 8 specs: Vanguard (tank), Warden (fast archer with blind/miss/paralyze), Thornseer (spells and nature) and Gravecaller (death magic). Each has two specs, a talent tree and its own look.

Idle hunting with real decisions: hunt in the background, then make choices with your gear, sockets, gems, sigils and relics.

33 zones across 3 realms, plus a story campaign (Act I) with painted chapters and characters.

7 dungeons, each with a Hard mode: a second, much tougher run with better loot.

Beasts and mounts to hatch, level, star up and gear, each with its own animated art.

Multiplayer: clans, Arena PvP with ranks, daily bosses and a server-wide raid boss, plus live events.

Free to play, with optional purchases. Daily chests are earned by playing, not by watching ads.

Where to play

Learn more at https://thornwake.app/welcome

🌐 Browser (any phone or PC, including iPhone):

https://thornwake.app

🤖 Android APK: https://thornwake.app/Thornwake.apk (allow "install from unknown sources" when Android asks)

💬 Discord (bug reports, feedback, patch notes): https://discord.gg/wpKGZBFZMD

What I'd love help with

Bugs: anything broken, stuck, confusing or wrong. Screenshots help a ton.

Balance: is anything too easy, too grindy or too generous (energy, bosses, dungeons, gear)?

UI and feel: does it look good and read well on your phone? What's hard to find?

First impressions: what hooked you, and what made you want to stop?

Post reports in the Discord's #bug-reports channel. I read everything and push fixes often, sometimes the same day. Early testers have already helped shape the dungeons, the leaderboards and the shop.

Thanks for checking it out! Happy to answer questions in the comments. 🌿

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, 5–10 min, browser] BooDash: does one-handed touch movement feel comfortable?

We are the Shapemo / MetaLeap team behind BooDash, a small Halloween action game about collecting sweets, dodging bosses and counterattacking during their green opening. We recently changed the Web touch controls after a player found the left-side pad awkward to reach while standing on a bus. We would like fresh, honest feedback on the revised controls.

Free browser demo: https://games.shapemo.com/play/boodash/

This is an unpaid, voluntary playtest of levels 1–9. No download, account, purchase, recording or email is needed. Try 5–10 minutes, or stop sooner if it is uncomfortable. A phone in portrait is most useful for the touch-control question; desktop feedback on the boss cues is also welcome.

On a phone, movement is centered. Drag from MOVE toward the skill target and release inside it to cast. Right/left-hand options are under the ⋯ menu → One-hand mode. On desktop you can use mouse or WASD/arrows, with Space for the ability.

Please reply here with your device/browser and whichever questions you can answer:

• Could you move and use the ability comfortably with one hand? What movement or button felt awkward?

• In your first boss round, could you tell when to dodge and when to counterattack?

• Where did you first feel confused, bored or want to stop? The character and level help us reproduce it.

Critical feedback is useful; no positive review is requested. We are using it to guide changes to the Web game. Development disclosure: AI assistance was used in code, character graphics and text; character reactions are authored rules, not live AI chat.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] [Windows / Android] War-Dogs: looking for first-session progression and UI feedback

I'm Brian from TWB Games, looking for volunteers to try the first 10-15 minutes of War-Dogs. This is an unpaid playtest; the demo is free.

It's an incremental defense game. Your dogs attack automatically while you aim charged specials. Cash and purchased upgrades carry between attempts, and you recruit more dogs as you progress.

Playable Windows and Android downloads:

https://the-world-beneath.itch.io/war-dogs

I'd like to know:

- Where did you first feel confused or want to stop?

- Did the first upgrades and recruits feel worth buying?

- Were any buttons, descriptions or upgrade-tree controls difficult to use?

A reply here is enough. Please mention your platform, difficulty, stage and build number. You don't need to finish both maps or record yourself.

AI disclosure: Generative AI was used extensively for programming/code, graphics, writing and audio. I provide human creative direction, game design decisions, editing and hands-on playtesting. AI also helped draft this post.

- Would you play another run? Why or why not?

Play here: https://yunfeiliu1986.itch.io/lives-behind-the-door

Unpaid Playtest [Browser, Unpaid] My browser based mmo-lite game that combines Minecraft, Runescape and Path of Exile needs testers

Playable Link: https://worldsalpha.com/play

Learn More on our Website: https://worldsalpha.com

Hey all!

I'm excited to introduce WORLDS - it's an MMO-lite game that runs in the browser and takes some of my favorite elements from Minecraft, Runescape and PoE and merges it into a casual adventure/rpg with heavy progression elements. I wanted a blocky game that scratched my itch for multiplayer, progression, and a non-boring grind element for mid/late game.

The gameplay of worlds is built around an idea I had of something called "Expeditions". Each gameplay session you set out on a new "expedition" to a 1024x1024 world that is randomly generated climate, features, biome, enemy encounters, bosses, and more. You loot and extract ores, material, whatever you're looking for or just explore. When you're done there's a "caravan" npc at the start of each expedition area, talk to him and he'll take you back to your camp. Your camp is your base/home, where you take your loot and gear you found out on each expedition to upgrade your home, upgrade your gear, improve your skills, and more - then set out on your next expedition. You can even encounter trapped travelers and people out on expeditions and invite them back to your camp for perks and other things over time.

There's boss elements as well, random encounters, a huge variety of unique things to discover, wildlife, and more.

The games skill system borrows heavy from Runescape, there's no single "level" system, instead each skill is improved by doing what's related to it. Mining increases mining skill, fishing is fishing, smelting ore is smelting etc - skill progression unlocks higher tier and better gear/perks for those relevant skill trees as you increase them over time.

You can also co-op with friends or hop in right away with strangers. Each time you set out for an expedition you can set your play mode to "open" which lets anyone join in when they go out on an expedition and adventure with you, or you can join up with anyone else on an expedition that is an open play mode. You can invite friends to co-op with you with simple invite codes and adventure/explore with parties up to 8 players.

Your skills, gear and progression are persistent and stick with your character. So if you go play with others, or friends, solo and with a group, you're working and improving the same character, your loot comes home with you, and your skills grow over time, etc.

The games still in alpha, so there's a lot of things to come - the main questline isn't done yet, but the game is quite enjoyable - a lot of our testers have plowed 50+ hours each into it the first week we gave it to them just because they enjoyed it, they weren't paid and had no incentives so that's a good sign we think!

It would mean so much to hear your feedback and what you think. You can play and create an account without an email or giving any info (just sign up using plain username + password when you play). If you want to keep your account for later you can add an email later to recover it, up to you!

Thanks everyone! Really looking forward to what you think, and again - this is in alpha! <3

P.S. This has been built by myself, and a really small team of modelers/contractors that have worked on the assets over the last 1+ years, art style and visuals are all credit to them!

You can play free here, no email or anything required - just make a username/password (no mobile support yet): https://worldsalpha.com

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Fjordly – a cozy merge & story game for Android. Looking for 12+ testers for a 14-day Google Play closed test

Hi everyone!

I'm a small indie developer from Denmark, and my first game, **Fjordly**, is ready for its closed test on Google Play. Google requires at least 12 testers for 14 days before a new developer can publish, so I'd be really grateful for your help.

**What is Fjordly?**

Ella comes home to the harbour town she left ten years ago – and finds her mother's café burnt to the ground. You merge items on a board, serve the café's guests, and rebuild the town piece by piece, chapter by chapter. Between the orders there are short story scenes: gossip, family secrets and the question of who started the fire.

**What I'm asking for**

- An Android phone and a Gmail address

- Install the game and open it a few times during the 14 days (Google checks that testers actually use the app)

- Optional: tell me what you liked, what confused you, and anything that broke

**How to join**

  1. Send me a chat/DM with the Gmail address you use on your Android phone (please don't post it in the comments)

  2. I add you to the tester list and send you the opt-in link

  3. Open the link on your phone, tap "Become a tester", and install Fjordly from the Play Store

**Feedback:** reply here, DM me, or e-mail support@ny-xe.com. You can also send a note from inside the game: tap the screen three times quickly and hold on the third tap.

It's free, there are no forced ads, and the game can be played without spending anything. Thank you so much – every tester really helps! 🌊

Unpaid Playtest [Recruiting] Agewalker — a city builder where you walk your own town as its mayor (Windows/Mac, 30–60 min)

Hi! I'm a solo developer looking for 10 playtesters for Agewalker, a 3D city builder with a twist: you plan the town from above, then press Tab and walk through it as the mayor — collecting taxes door to door, gathering ideas from thinkers and opening new research.

What's in the playtest: the first two epochs — the Stone Age and Sumer (clay and copper, a bronze smelter, a tavern and the ziggurat). Windows and macOS (the Mac build is signed and notarized), English plus 8 more languages.

What I'd love from you: play 30–60 minutes and fill in a short 5-question form (it's linked on the game page). I'm most interested in where you got confused or bored, and whether walking the town as the mayor feels fun or like a chore.

How to get in: comment here or send me a DM, and I'll message you a personal itch.io key. If you play city builders (Anno, Banished, Manor Lords, Pharaoh…), please mention which ones.

In the spirit of honesty: I build the game with heavy AI assistance for code, text and translations. There are no AI-generated images or voices — the 3D models are built from code, and the sounds are synthesized.

Short gameplay teaser (25 s): https://www.reddit.com/user/from_makondo/comments/1xh67sr/agewalker_playtest_teaser_stone_age_sumer/

**How to get in:** fill in a 1-minute form and your personal itch.io key arrives by email right away: sign up here (30 keys in this wave). If you play city builders (Anno, Banished, Manor Lords, Pharaoh…), the form asks which ones.

Thanks for reading!

Unpaid Playtest [beta testers wanted] help test lushmc’s earth frontier and rebuilt raft survival

we’re looking for players who want to help test two gamemodes we’re building for lushmc reforged.

earth frontier takes place on a real-world map, but the civilizations are made by players. there are no premade towns or nations to join, players will create settlements, claim land, trade, cooperate, and decide what their part of the world becomes.

raft survival starts you with almost nothing on the ocean. you build up your raft, gather what you need to survive, and work through threats like sharks, seagulls, hunger, and thirst. we’re rebuilding the experience with a focus on making the start clearer and the progression more satisfying.

both gamemodes are still in development. we want testers who will play, tell us where they get confused or bored, report bugs, and give honest feedback, including when an idea doesn’t work. there’s no confirmed release date, and testing invites will go out as builds are ready.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, browser, 10 minutes] Wildcrown — is the opening build/save/attack decision clear?

I'm looking for people to test the first match of Wildcrown, a free browser tower-wars alpha. You build a maze, draft towers with synergies and send monsters into another player's lane. Building, upgrading and attacking happen continuously, so spending gold on one means delaying the others.

Play: https://sporebound-grove-wars.snackstars.chatgpt.site/

This is an unpaid test. Please allow about 10 minutes, plus a couple of minutes for feedback. No download or account is needed; desktop and landscape mobile are supported. Choose Play online for matchmaking. Empty seats fill with labelled practice opponents after 30 seconds, so you can test even if nobody else is queuing. Friend rooms and solo practice are also available.

The main question: does saving gold, building defences or sending monsters feel like a meaningful choice in your first match?

It would help to hear:

• What was the first thing you didn't understand?

• Could you tell which towers would work well together before buying and placing them?

• Did early enemies feel too weak, too strong or about right?

Please leave feedback in the comments with your browser/device and roughly when an issue happened. A sentence or two is useful; no recording is required. The in-game feedback screen is another option, or our feedback Discord: https://discord.gg/7DBnqauxd

Disclosure: the game uses substantial AI-assisted code and generated artwork. It's an unfinished alpha; balance and controls are still being tested, online matches are unranked, and alpha progress may reset.
