Does they service the Cornwall area and how reliable are they compared to the Eastlink and Bell? Thanks.

I had difficulty finding information about the candidates. Only Wards 1 and 3 have options to vote for. I found some info from candidates in their own words here: https://townofstratford.ca/release/municipal-election-candidates-written-forum/
I also used AI to generate information about the candidates including what the incumbents actually supported based on meeting minutes and votes. I'm not providing opinions, just what was generated. If any of this is factually wrong let me know and I can update it.
Vote for up to two candidates in your ward. Steve Ogden is the only mayoral candidate and is acclaimed. Candidate positions come from their written answers to the Town's forum. Incumbent voting comes from council minutes (Jan 2024 to May 2026, with some meetings missing; the May 2026 minutes are unapproved).
Zoning terms - R1: single-family homes, with some duplexes. - R2: also allows small townhouse rows. Stacked townhouses (2 storeys, up to 12 units) need council approval case by case. - R3: adds apartment-style buildings. - TCR / TCMU: the town-centre residential and mixed-use zones near the shopping area. - WMU: the waterfront redevelopment area.
Even Stratford's densest zones top out at roughly 3-4 storeys.
Record: The most supportive of new housing among the incumbents. - For: stacked townhouses (Woodhouse Court 2024, CMLMT 8-unit 2025, a 20-unit proposal in May 2026), the waterfront rezonings, the Ducks Landing rezoning, and the Kinlock Rd commercial development. - Against: the Nov 2025 R1 to R2 rezoning (Grove Developments), arguing for protecting the "edges" between zones. He also pushed for 2 parking spaces per unit on a 2024 project. - Pattern: backs density but wants buffers and parking. No case found where he was the lone vote against.
Platform: Keep taxes low and be transparent. Affordable housing for seniors and young families while protecting neighbourhood character and green space. Finish the Community Campus and waterfront pavilion, add bus routes, and improve sidewalks, trails and speeding enforcement. Attract a year-round family restaurant, another big grocery store and business park employers.
Dowling is the incumbent in Ward 1 but is running in Ward 3 this time. He served four terms on Summerside council before Stratford.
Record: The most consistent "no" on density. - Against: the Ducks Landing rezoning (the lone no on 1st reading, 2nd reading and adoption), the waterfront rezonings and Official Plan amendment (the lone no on every vote, Sep and Oct 2025), the 8-unit CMLMT stacked townhouse, the Nov 2025 R1 to R2 rezoning (calling it spot zoning), and the May 2026 20-unit proposal. In 2024 he was also the lone vote against an amendment raising parking, and against the 10-unit Woodhouse Court project. - For: the Kinlock Rd commercial development, and he seconded the 2026/27 budget. - Pattern: supports development in the core area and on commercial land but opposes rezoning or densifying established R1/R2 streets, and wants density decisions to wait for the new Official Plan.
Platform - Community Campus: two ice surfaces, indoor turf, youth club and library, paid for with federal and provincial money and fundraising. - Taxes: no further tax increase, and keep the existing 2-cent increase as a building reserve. - Neighbourhoods: keep low and medium density neighbourhoods as zoned. Says "orderly" growth is not "growth at all cost." - Mobility: trails, free gym programming, the on-demand bus and the accessible taxi pilot. - Business: expand the business park.
Record: Opposes density in or beside existing single-family areas but supports it in designated areas. - Against: rezoning R2 to R3 for Forest Trails (Jun 2025), the Forest Trails subdivision (lone no, Jun 2025), the 8-unit CMLMT stacked townhouse (Oct 2025), the Nov 2025 R1 to R2 rezoning (opposed "picking away at neighbourhoods for density"), and the May 2026 20-unit proposal. - For: the waterfront package, the Ducks Landing rezoning, the 10-unit Woodhouse Court project (2024), and the Kinlock Rd commercial development. - Pattern: says Stratford already has density room in the core, waterfront and other designated areas.
Platform: "Residents first" with responsible finances. Responsible growth that protects established neighbourhoods. Infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, drainage) that keeps pace with growth. A mix of local business, retail, tourism and light industry. No specific tax pledge.
Both incumbents oppose rezoning or densifying established R1/R2 streets, and Dowling's platform centres on the Community Campus. Neither challenger takes a position on specific rezonings, and neither mentions the Campus. - Wilfred MacDonald is the most growth-oriented of the four. He treats "expanding the revenue source" as a priority, including expanding town boundaries and aggressively recruiting businesses, where Dowling says no new tax increase and live within means. He wants incentives to compete for business. He doesn't mention protecting low-density areas, which both incumbents make central. - MacIsaac sits closest to the incumbents. He shares their concern about overdevelopment ("many of us do not want to live in a town of high rise buildings") but doesn't oppose any particular rezoning. He differs by prioritizing seniors' programs, the Hillsborough Bridge and a "moving needle" approach to services guided by resident feedback.
Notes - Dowling's Ward 1 incumbency is as stated by the author; CBC's 2022 list agrees, but Elections PEI and the Town's forum list him in Ward 3. - Council minutes for April and June-October 2026 were not available, and Gail MacDonald's earlier votes were not reviewed. - Votes not flagged as split in the minutes are recorded as unanimous, so some "for" entries are inferred. - Challenger comparisons rest on five short forum answers each. Where a challenger doesn't mention something, that is an omission, not an opposing stance.

I believe I have apple tree scab on my 2 apple trees. It's been like this for the past few years.
Any recommendations for a fungicide to use. Something locally available or from Amazon?

I need 2 cord of wood to top me up for the winter. My normal guy retired from the wood game this year. I am just outside Charlottetown and need delivery. Who are all you wood burners using and how much are you paying per cord. Preferably hardwood but I can make due with softwood.

**My son made it to the Quarterfinals of the Stan Lee Super Kid contest, and I couldn't be prouder ❤️**
Hi everyone! I'm a PEI mom, and my son Rielly has made it to the Quarterfinals of the 2026 Stan Lee Super Kid contest!
He's already made it through the Group Finals and the Wildcard Round, and we're incredibly proud of him for continuing to push forward.
One thing he says about superheroes has really stuck with me:
“It's not about the powers. It's about how pure your heart is.”
He loves superheroes for how they overcome challenges and keep going. If he wins, he could be featured as a superhero character in a special-edition Stan Lee Universe comic book and learn how comics are made.
We're hoping to share his journey with more people and would be grateful for any support from the community.
If you'd like to support him, voting is free, with one vote every 24 hours:
https://thesuperkid.org/2026/rielly-611b
Thank you for taking the time to read about his journey! ❤️

Im considering a seasonal move from the west coast to the east coast. Exploring the east coast, spending a good amount of time in the area has always been a dream. And now life seems to be allowing that to happen.
Would love local’s opinions on best places to call home, season work availability, what the rental market is like and anything else.
I haven’t picked an area or really even a province. I keep coming back to PEI during my research. So figured i would start here.
Ideally home would be a coastal town. My biggest concern is finding the right employment. Is there seasonal (spring and summer) work? I’m from Vancouver island and almost every town has seasonal work in the summer. I would be open to most things. Working at a resort, farm, gas station, nannying or basically anything.
My experience is a range of things.
Childcare - I have experience running a daycare from my home and Nannying.
Cleaning - cleaned commercial offices, and clinics.
Bullcooking - solo house keeper (cleaning, laundry, dishes, helping with some food prep) of a 40 man logging camp
Construction - building homes, siding, fencing etc.
Farming - raised and bred Nigerian dwarf goats, plus kept sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, rabbits etc.
Horses - have had horses in my life since I was a child. Skilled in ground work, day to day care, etc.
I’m excited about possibly calling a new part of Canada home. I love the outdoors. Spend most of my spare time at the ocean or in the forest. And truly think I would love the East Coast. There are so many beautiful towns, it makes it hard to choose. So I think starting with employment is the best and going from there.
Thanks in advance for any advice and information.

Do people here not know how to turn through an intersection with multiple lanes? Some asshole in a big 2500 pickup with a trailer started his turn through Capital drive advance-left in the inside lane (his lane) and ended it in the outside lane (MY lane) and I had to step on the brakes to not get smucked.
Not the first time that exact thing has happened to me at that intersection with some big jackass pickup, either.
and yes this is just me whining and bitching I don't actually expect this post to do anything

I just saw this post in a local PEI group regarding an absolutely heinous interaction they had with an individual in Charlottetown. This is completely unacceptable. Sharing here for awareness of this situation.
Hate has no place in this province.

I’m moving to Summerside, and need to change pharmacies.
I’ve heard different insights about each one, but looking for some other opinions.
I’ve had bad experiences in the past.
Most important for me is having longer hours as I tend to work late.
Thanks folks!

I was recently cheated on and want to make sure I’m clean. I no longer have a family doctor, where should I go for testing? Is a walk in clinic my only option?

Anybody know anything about the 2 new councillors in Stratford Ward 2? Political positions or beliefs? Or email addresses so I can ask them myself?
All I’ve been to find is that Jeff McEntee is Director of IT for Northumberland Ferries.
Patrick Ross owns China Garden and has run for council unsuccessfully twice prior to being acclaimed this year.
Edit: Apparently the Patrick Ross that ran unsuccessfully in the past is a different Patrick Ross.
