After 6 years of having the SES light and CHECK FUEL CAP light on, all issues have been addressed and my GT has once again been able to pass the state emissions inspection.

It all started after the fuel pump was replaced in January 2020. Then for a while, it was just non-stop part swapping and eventually the shop I had it at couldn't get the necessary parts. By that time though, the car became eligible for Historic status which eliminates the emissions requirement for the vehicle. I got the Historic tags in 2024, but the state laws changed in mid-2025 which took away the Historic eligibility. So upon renewal this year, I had to go back to regular tags and go back to regular emissions testing (every 2 years).

After taking it to another shop, they were able to perform the needed repairs and get rid of the codes it was throwing. I've got a practically brand new emissions system in this thing now.

Sorry...seems ridiculous in the grand scheme of things, but this has been mildly frustrating for the past few years. Now maybe I can get some other bits and pieces addressed.

Need opinions. Now that the car is mechanically done (built 2V with forged internals, Vortech V2 blower and a T56 swap) should I keep the faded paint or do a full respray? I kinda like the ratty paint.

I am having an issue with my 1999 Ford Mustang GT I am losing coolant I can’t find any leaks anywhere. This has been a problem for a while now. About a year ago I replaced the intake manifold because the plastic crossover was cracked and replaced it with an updated intake with a metal crossover seemed to fix it but the problem for a while but gradually it started to come back again. The past few days the car starts up with a misfire and puffs thick white smoke from the exhaust and from what I can tell smells like coolant. The misfire and smoke goes away after it runs for a little bit. Today the same thing happened but there was a lot more smoke and the smoke wouldn’t stop so I didn’t drive it. These were the exact symptoms that led me to replace my intake manifold with the updated one about a year ago and I’m confused why the problem is back now. I am trying to figure out if it is an intake issue again but I don’t see how it could be since I replaced it with one that would prevent that issue or if it is a head gasket issue. Maybe the intake bolts came loose causing it to not seal well anymore? My oil and coolant don’t look milky. Any help would be appreciated before I decide to tear it down.

I want to properly attach the brackets from my KN filter because i figured out the circled hole is where they are supposed to go, but my 99 doesn’t have that stud there, so i need to remove the wire from the hole and put a stud there, but not sure what to get.

Any idea what this sound could be

After a good season of use was time to fill the tank, add Stabil and pull it into garage for winter. The joys of living in a northern climate where they just pump salt on to the roads 5 months a year.

I recently got a 2000 gt with a blown motor. I pulled it out and have it on a stand and plan spending this winter rebuilding it. I’m hoping to get 500-600 whp out of it, and I’m putting together a list of things I want for it. So for I have decided on pistons and rods. I haven’t decided on a super or turbo charger yet. I’m wondering what other things I should consider putting in? I’m looking for specific parts and their brands. I’m also going to get everything machined. thanks!

I’m trying to figure out what I need to hook up my new head unit in my ‘04. It originally came with the Mach 460 but previous owners took the amps and left the mess on the far left in the first picture. The connectors on the right are still intact. From what I understand, since my head unit has a built in amp can I still use a regular adapter connector to get power and ground to the head and just hardwire the speakers with rca? Head unit is a kenwood dpx504bt, and I have a separate sub/amp that I’ll wire in with everything else but I can figure that part out. And I’m balling on a budget here so yes I know it’s probably not the greatest stereo but as long as it works I don’t really care
