Rec.Me: Your favorite music (anything) What's been your favourite album recently?
My playlist is getting stale and my ears are open to pretty much anything short of bro country, so hit me!

I like that this album sounds like it was all recorded in one take/improvised (idk if it actually was) but it just seems very loose/unorganized/random in a good way, specifically the vocals. Its like someone had an idea of a song then just went with it in the moment and it works. Anything else with this vibe?

I need some decent music recommendations whether it be singles, albums, or just the artists. You wouldn’t believe how serious blue collar men are about music especially if the music they like is from there “era” lmfao.
Any good ones that are a “must listen to”?
I know some decent pre-2000s bands but mostly the big names like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Redhotchilipeppers, etc.
Thats not to say i know a ton of 2000s and 2010s music either lol. Most of it I’ve heard but couldn’t tell you the name of the song or artist. Anyone experienced that lol where those certain beats or lyrics stand out but the song itself is completely lost to you?
Anywho I appreciate any and all recommendations!
Thanks guys

So I was gathering songs for my upcoming Halloween party, the ages there range from 4 to 11. But one girl, who's 8 and maybe on the spectrum, is VERY easily scared by "scary" or "spooky" stuff. She doesn't like Thriller because of the howling wolf at the beginning. She's scared of the Ghostbusters song.. Maybe because of a scary association like she heard it playing in a Halloween store when she was little. She's ok with monster mash, I've added season of the witch, werewolves of London, a few random kids songs and mostly the rest is like instrumentals that are Halloween ish but not scary ones. But it's hard to figure this out. Because all the best songs have a spooky element to them . And I don't want stuff that is for LITTLE kids either like baby shark Halloween edition, I don't want annoying stuff, which most of the little kids stuff is. I don't mind adding a few non Halloween songs in there. But I'm wondering if there's any good neutral Halloween songs, safe for kids, safe for this sensitive child, but on theme and fun.

Rap artists in the same vein as Louis Logic, Busdriver, Slug, Pigeon John, and Open Mike Eagle?

Just watched this Sunday evening and wow, what a film... due in no small part to its OST. I need more 60s/70s psychedelic pagan folk injected straight into my veins. Please help me.

I’m going as the hex girls from scooby doo and I think rock with female vocals or riot grrl songs would be perfect to post with the costume. I like the vibe of dazey and the scouts, metric, or destroy boys. But I’m open to any suggestions of the same vibe.

I know this can be very subjective but I have an existing playlist of songs that do this for me already. Give me your best shot and I will try respond in time to every rec.

I'll try something here because this subreddit is the best one for getting super specific stuff youre looking for!
I want to create a playlist for my demon OC who didn't know he was a demon and is now facing an identity crisis.
I don't just want sad songs, but also something I can imagine battle scenes with where he gets more badass and powerful.
I'm not a fan of metal or electronic music, but rock/indie/experimental is more than welcome!
I really like the eery aggressive vibe of In Aisles by Nero's Day in Disneyland (the singing in reverse) and would love to find something similar.
I also want to avoid cheesy self-explanatory lyrics or cliche songs (like Demons by Imagine Dragons or stuff like that).
Thanks so much in advance!

i'm looking for stuff that feels honest about struggling without being like, aggressively depressing if that makes sense. things that acknowledge things are hard but don't just wallow in it. open to any genre really, just want music that gets it.

The context is that I'm in a relationship where my partner (and I'm completely empathetic and supportive btw) is in a space where they no longer want to leave the house/do anything. We've been together 2.5 years - haven't travelled, they don't work anymore so are low income, I yearn to travel and want to go to events or things together but she just mentally isn't up to it. I feel like I'm missing out and this is finding me back from enjoyable and fun experiences that I want to do. I don't have friends either and the music events I want to go to, she once would have but it puts her in a situation where there are dr*gs around (which is dangerous for her).
Idk maybe I'm being selfish but I'm nearly 30 and all I do is work and rot and I feel stuck.

Any genre is fine, my favorites though are industrial/metal, underground rap, deep house & indie pop/rock
Anything under the u. rap or metal umbrellas would be extra appreciated though. Thanks

Hey everyone, looking for songs about loving someone who doesn't even know you exist, or knows who you are, but doesn't really know you or notice you.
Preferrable genres would be indie, alternative, altrock, postpunk, but mainly looking for tracks that capture that feeling of invisible/unrequited and delusional longing from afar. Thanks!!

Lately, I’ve gotten really into listening to full albums from start to finish. Does anyone have any album or EP recommendations based on the ones I’ve listed below?
My list:
Ben Howard – Noonday Dream — Absolutely love this album and its overall sound.
Billie Marten – Drop Cherries
J. Cole – 4 Your Eyez Only — Love the storytelling and the message behind it.
Kendrick Lamar – Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers — Also love the storytelling and the themes explored throughout the album.
I’m open to anything, as long as you think it might resonate with me!

I’m very picky about music and I don’t even know how to describe my taste. I’m looking for songs that progress, have similar themes, and melody as bands like “Ludo” and “Black Pontiac” I specifically enjoy the “you’re awful, I love you” album by Ludo.
I also listen to “Bear Ghost”. They don’t exactly fit with what’s described in the title.
Good examples of what I’m looking for would be songs like “School Girls” by Black Pontiac, “Please” by Ludo, and “Haunt, The Cartoon Heart” by Bear Ghost.
It’s not necessarily the genre that matters for me, it’s more about the pace and melody of the song.
I hope this makes sense, I’m very high rn I appreciate and will listen to all recommendations.
My main playlist consists of 10 songs that I play and even when i do I still skip a couple from time to time. I wish for more variety please and thank you.

I am autistic and as such I have a hard time finding new songs and oftenly just go back to the ones I know. But I want to find more variation since I have essentially been listening to the same songs for a while and don't want to get tired of them.
The most important thing for me is the character amd/or emotion the bands/songs have and I love unique voices that still sound good.
Kardashev(Deathgaze) is very much my comfort listen for when I need to calm down or de-stimulate. They have been the perfect mix of heavy and beautiful so my mind doesn't get overwhelmed.
Tallah(Nu-core) is for when I want more crazy/character, I just love the personality Justin(vocalist) puts into the performance. Though The Geberation of Danger album is a little too much happening for me Though I do like induvidual songs from the album i can't listen through the whole thing without having to pause and de-stimulate.
Moonwalker(Punk?) I actually don't really have an as detailed reason I think I just love the guys sound and the message his songs have. His music also foes ger my creative and thinking juices going.
Thank you in advance!

Hey, I have been active in the music industry for a bit now, studying music bussines and also owning my own bussines in music related photography. There is nothing more that i love than discovering New small artists - especially the small, local somewhat youthfull (<30) bands and acts creating lovely energies and smalltime cultural value.
So i'm looking for your recomendations of your local artists and bands. Here is my recomendation to you guys: Platonic smile, C'est qui?, 32elephants, Rover Onslow, Crashing, The Getdowns.
Thank you already!

Looking for the same mysterious ominous key vibe. The sound after the sentence “this is cancer” gets me so in the mood but don’t ask me what mood it gets me in there’s a lot to unpack

I really like these instrumentals but this song is criminally short. Any songs with the same vibe?
r/MusicRecommendations • u/free_yams • 11h ago
i’d like to have more songs that give the same vibe as these songs, specifically from the 2000s-2010s but they don’t have to be.
