Discussion Technical question: Can close placement of studio monitors cause edge panel degradation over time? (Photos attached)

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get a second opinion from the collective intelligence here regarding a weird issue with my dual-monitor setup (two identical ASUS VG248QG 24" 165Hz TN monitors).

The Problem:

Both monitors are developing vertical line artifacts/discoloration right on their outer edges. On the left monitor, it's on the far left edge, on the right monitor, it's on the far right edge and a bit more pronounced/extends slightly further into the screen. (Note: The attached photos show the right monitor).

The Setup & Potential Cause:

Due to space constraints on my desk, I have active studio monitors (Yamaha HS7) placed directly next to the displays, with only about 2 to 3 cm of clearance between the speaker housing and the screen bezel.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I suspected that electromagnetic interference (EMI) or heat coming from the rear-mounted electronics/transformers of the Yamaha HS7 might be causing this damage over long daily use.

My Questions to You:

1. Do these artifacts look like typical EMI damage or magnetic/heat degradation from studio monitors placed this close? Or could this be a cable issue (already checked, but open to ideas)?

2. Is this kind of edge damage permanent (irreversible), or is there any chance it can fade or be fixed?

Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
