Discussion My childhood favorite game (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) finally runs on modern Android! 🕷️

I just found a modernized version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (the original Gameloft game) that actually runs on ARM64 Android devices. This was a huge part of my childhood, and I never thought I'd be able to play it again on a modern phone without an emulator.

It's the original game, but it's been optimized/rebuilt so it doesn't crash or get stuck on newer Android versions. Runs smoothly on my Xiaomi 15T (Dimensity 8400 Ultra + Mali GPU).

I know the game has its flaws, but for me, it's pure nostalgia. Huge props to whoever put in the work to make this playable again. If you grew up playing this game, you know how special this is!

Has anyone else tried it? What's your favorite childhood game that got modernized like this?

Discussion Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom on Dimensity 8400-Ultra (Mali GPU) - Rock Solid 60 FPS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted to share how this game runs on a MediaTek chip, since most mobile games are heavily optimized for Snapdragon/Adreno. I was curious if the Mali GPU could handle it, and it runs incredibly well.

Device: Xiaomi 15T

Chipset: Dimensity 8400-Ultra (Mali-G720 MC7)

Settings: 100% Resolution Scale

Performance: Locked at a rock-solid 60 FPS in every situation. Even during heavy fights with lots of enemies and explosions, it never drops a single frame. The phone remains surprisingly cool.

(Note: The game has a 60 FPS cap by default, so it just doesn't drop.)

Note: I didn't use any game boosters or performance tuning apps. This is just the phone running the game.

You can see the gameplay video I attached. I'm really enjoying the game so far, it's an absolute blast to play!

Huge props to the devs for this release. It looks amazing with the touchscreen controls. Has anyone else tried this on a Mali GPU device?

Game Dev I added a level editor to my puzzle game, so now you can build levels and send them to friends as a short code

Hey everyone! I’m the developer of Tiltroll, a block-rolling puzzle game where you tip blocks across a board to cover all the goal tiles before you run out of moves.

The feature I’m most excited about is the new level editor. It lets you:

  • draw the floor with your finger
  • place goal tiles and blocks (cubes, bars, big 2x2 blocks…)
  • add the mechanics from the main game: pressure plates, gates, lasers, colour gates, paint and portals
  • see the shortest solution right away, because a built-in solver checks your level as you build it
  • test play it, and once you’ve beaten it, it counts as verified

Then you can share it as a short text code. Your friend pastes the code into the game and plays your level. No accounts and no servers, just copy and paste.

The video shows the whole thing: building a small two-room level with a plate and a gate, solving it, and a friend opening it from the code.

I’d really love to hear what you think, especially if something feels confusing in the editor. And if you build something nasty, post the code in the comments. I’ll try to solve it 😄

Game Dev What made you stop playing mobile crafting games?

Dev here. I’m the solo developer at Dumb Game Lab, working on a small woodworking prototype called Woodshop. This clip is just the oiling step, where rubbing the cloth over the board brings out its color and sheen. Right now I’m focused on the feel of this one board, and I genuinely want to understand the genre’s friction before going further. If you’ve played a mobile crafting or woodworking game and dropped it, what made you stop?

Discussion Does anyone still play villager's and heros? Lol

• Upvotes

I've been looking for a MMO and I came across V & H again and it brought back a lot of good memories from high school. Is it dead? Is there updates still? Anyone else still play? I was deciding between GW reforged and and eterspire. This game I enjoyed because it's more casual and pve focused.

New Release Airball - try my online and offline mobile game?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

I've just released this game of mine, its a football pool game with online and offline local multiplayer modes, and there are different players and arenas you can unlock.

This game is really new and I'm on my own with it so i'm still looking for bugs, though i think the game is mostly stable at this point, it would mean if some of you were to take a look, thanks!

The game is on the google play store only called "Airball", I assume this reddit doesn't allow me to submit a link to the listing though

Game Dev Shabang: two free music guessing games that play in your phone's browser (no app, no signup)

• Upvotes

Less than a year ago, my sister Shani was diagnosed with cancer. She spent almost three months in the hospital, and to give us something fun to do together during those days, I started building a music game for the two of us.

She passed away on August 29th, before I finished it. I kept working on it, partly to keep my mind busy, and now it's live as Shabang, with two games:

🥁 TrackStack: every song is split into its instruments. You start with only the drums, and each wrong guess adds a layer: bass, guitar, piano… vocals come last.

⏱️ Songuess: you hear a fifth of a second of the song, and each wrong guess plays more: half a second, 2 seconds, 4…

In both, the less you need to hear, the more points you get, and each one has a daily challenge: one song a day, the same for everyone.

Free, no signup, works on your phone:

I'd love honest feedback, and to see your daily results in the comments.

Questions Is the Xiaomi 17t pro good for gaming?

On paper, the phone itself looks pretty good to me. The camera, the chipset, the battery... pretty much everything is solid. But as a gamer,it gets kinda annoying when I have to deal with thermal throttling after like 30 minutes with my phone like it's my homework that I forgot to do on a sunday night. Some people on Internet say that it gets really hot but does it really? For example, one of my friends have the Samsung s25 ultra and whenever we play a game like wuwa or ZZZ on max settings,I mean sure the phone does get a little warm, mostly the frame getting somewhat hot,but other than that,it's pretty much really good and nothing to worry about. I'm just kinda worried that if I buy this phone I might have to deal with all the overheating stuff and probably buy a cooler or sth. Also, this part isn't about gaming and all that overall but,do the cameras look really good as they seem to be like the pictures I saw online? I love taking videos and especially videos so just curious. Thanks for your time!
