Hi folks! Sharing my latest complete mini after a bit of a painting break whilst I moved flats.
Such a lovely sculpt to paint, though some details are deceptively tricky to reach...
Hoping to get more Arnor painted over the coming weeks (goal is a fully fledged 1000pts force) so watch this space 🙂

Hi All
I've been playing and collecting MESBG for a bit now and I am considering adding an evil army to my projects list for the new year as the local event organisers are starting to discuss having players bring 1 good and 1 evil army to events for narrative reasons.
However due to the number of options I am struggling to settle on one, so I am after some recommendations from this community based on my favourite good armies that I have collected and play with.
So currently I alternate between Return of the King and the Defenders of Helms Deep army lists as they are my favourite 2 iconic scenes from the movies I love from the movies and they allow me to play Gimli and Legolas together.
What I like about the RoK list playstyle is the fact that the list is relatively elite while also being fast not only that but their unique ability to impact engagements due to all of them having Terror in their rules is a cool feature I enjoy playing into especially against armies susceptible to it.
What I like about the Defenders list playstyle is the ability to include Lothlorien elves to support the Rohan forces by using characters as banners and providing some slightly more reliable shooting to wittle away at enemy forces before our lines meet.
So based on this I'm interested to hear from you all on possible evil army recommendations. Preferably I would prefer models that are available in plastic but if there is a list that is mostly forgeworld minis that you think might suit me I'm still interested to know about them as I have access to resin printing for cheaper proxy alternatives.
Thanks in Advance for your recommendations

Hi all, curious if anyone has had any experience with this shop:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/CausewayCrusade
I like some of these models, but I’m getting scam vibes from the AI looking painted model pictures!!
Thoughts?

At 350 - 450 points
Which would you least like to play against?
My vote is banner as scouts have no option for spear supports and already out move most lists but I’ve heard different takes

Chucked this one together over a couple of short sessions, based on a haradrim taskmaster and using a few kits. My green stuff fabric sculpting is still kinda ropey but it gets the idea across!

Looking at the sprues, it seems like I’d need to snip the arm at the elbow and attach to the rider who is throwing what’s either a tomahawk or a spear. Has anyone done this kitbash? If it’s really tedious I might not bother…

Hera painted up - fun model to paint and the first time I’ve done crimson/red hair! I feel like I missed the mark on the skin tone a bit but such is life. The thing I’m most happy about on this model was gap filling the joints on the horse with sprue glue which I was using for the first time. The gap lines were really bad after assembly but sealed up really well and are mostly invisible after painting.

Bent swords and other delicate weapons are a common issue with metal miniatures. Fortunately, minor bends can often be corrected with patience and careful handling.
Step 1 — Position your tweezers
Using tweezers, carefully grip the weapon near the end of the blade. Avoid applying pressure to the miniature’s hand, wrist, or other delicate details.
Step 2 — Apply controlled pressure
Gently guide the weapon towards the desired position. Use small, gradual movements rather than attempting to correct the bend in a single motion.
Step 3 — Adjust incrementally
Continue making minor adjustments, checking the alignment from different angles as you work. This helps maintain control and reduces unnecessary stress on the metal.
Step 4 — Inspect the final alignment
Once the weapon is approximately straight, examine it from the front and side. Make any final adjustments carefully
And that's it really quick and easy to do

Hi,
I'm pretty new to the gaming side of things. Going to do a 600pt friendly tournament in a month or so and wondering which Minas Tirith list might be best? I love playing Boromir but unsure if he's too expensive. And not sure if a few cavalry or more troops are my best bet. Thanks!

I have been a MESBG player for years, but the frequency of my games have been... sporadic at best. However, lucky me ! A couple siblings have picked the hobby up as well, and so we are planning to have our first game in the upcoming months (Early 2027 to put it simply). I know for a fact that they are fast-learners, and it will be friendly 2v2 (each player got his own army special rules, and everything). Lists are limited to 700 points.
I happen to know for a fact that me and my brother will be facing Mirkwood elves, as well as Iron Hills dwarves. My partner will be deploying Saruman and a handful of Isengard Uruk-Hai, alongside Lurtz and Ugluk.
As for me, I intend to field a Host of the Witch-King army (and YES ! I know that Blades of the Dead will turn the squishy elves into a brick wall !)
So here is what I expect to line up on the field so far.
WARLORD : Witch-King of Angmar (with Morgul Blade)
1 Angmar Orc Warrior (Banner)
8 Angmar Orc Warrior (Shield)
8 Angmar Orc Warrior (Spear)
1 Werewolf
Captain : Shadow of Rhudaur
1 Angmar Orc Warrior (Banner)
5 Angmar Orc Warrior (Shield)
5 Angmar Orc Warrior (Spear)
3 Angmar Orc Warrior (Two-Handed weapons)
1 Werewolf
Leader : Barrow-Wight
3 Angmar Orc Warrior (Shield)
3 Angmar Orc Warrior (Spear)
Leader : Barrow-Wight
3 Angmar Orc Warrior (Shield)
3 Angmar Orc Warrior (Spear)
And that's pretty much everything. So I need to know some opinions !

Hi everyone
I have 48 mordor orc and I recently taken interest into the mesbg rules, which if I understand well, imply the use of many HQ, such as drum, banner bearer, and captain for leading units.
I want to kitbash my own hq instead of buying the official one.
I need to see your conversion/kitbash !

One third of my Amon Hen board is finished! In this post, I walk through the construction of the board itself and show it finished in the Amon Hen and Shire configuration. Really excited with how it’s come out and keen to get a battle report on it soon! https://modellingfordisadvantage.substack.com/p/amon-hen-board-one-out-of-three-aint?r=z7sds&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

For one point you gain +1FV near a dragon warrior hero, +1 courage. I don't see why i wouldn't field as many as i can over the base easterlings except when i have Borgir and Rutabi.
Considering i don't want bows, would you disagree?
