Happy with this one. Went together a lot more smoothly than the first as I had already done all the trial and error! Very happy I found a use for the dragon emperor after unceremoniously chopping up his palanquin for a previous conversion.

Plenty more on my Instagram linked in my profile.

Army List Iron Hills Army

Finally finished my project I started this earlier this year- a battalion of Iron Hills dwarves! I waited nearly 2 years to do this because of the crossbows not being in stock. I chose this army as the goat chariot looked sweet! Best photos I could do without a fancy light box 😆

Been dreaming of adding some dwarf warriors to my collection for 20 years. Finally got these guys painted up and decided they needed some dwarven halls to defend. Experimented texturing some EVA tiles, and overall I'm pretty pleased with the effect. Joint lines between tiles still a bit more pronounced than I'd like. But the stone texture turned out great and makes a really good playing surface.

This is a conversion for a home-made scenario we played. We used the Palace Guard Captain profile for her.

I used parts from a Palace Guard miniature, and an actual face from a Legolas mini to guarantee a family ressemblance !

I had fun with it, making up the costume, and using some wild colours and basing. Note the white gems of Lasgalen details. A Lothlorien shield was used, I didn't have one from Mirkwood and I was in a rush, but that provides some storytelling (more exchanges with Lorien before the Necromancer ? Is she a Galadhrim maybe ?).

Question Starting help Harad

Hey guys so I finally figured after like 16 years I’ll try MESBG again. Good buddy of mine did so too with the osgiliath box plus Mordor and Gondor starter armies respectively. I looked at a few armies and while I like the idea of quite a few more hero themed list for the start I figured it’s best to get a proper army. I chose Harad.

While I read up on quite a bit of blogs etc there are questions I still can’t really answer for myself, so I figured if anyone has some pointers that would be immensely helpful and appreciated :)

I’ll definitely start with a box of Harad warriors first, maybe add a box of riders. Eventually I’ll want a mumak because they are awesome but I’ll wait until I’ll have played a bit. I also dabbled with the list builder for a bit.
This is where my certainty ends though, here come a bunch of questions:

I want to play mostly pure Harad so my options are serpent horde or harad, right? Most stuff I read points towards serpent horde given it buffs the limited roster more, the Harad list almost seems unnecessary if I’ll restrict myself to Harad units anyway? (Despite buffing mumaks more)

So if I want a beginner friendly yet worthwhile experience, should I aim for 300-400 points?
How about the Harad command box? I get there’s a taskmaster, banner and sort of leader in there, also a guy blowing a horn. Does he have rules too? And how useful are they?
Since suladan seems to have a banner and something like a taskmaster or leader can be kitbashed or bought separately I figured the command box is quite overpriced given what I’ll actually get, right?

I’m mostly leaning towards the serpent horde but since I need to play (and thus buy) suladan there I figured maybe for the start it would be okay to just play a Harad list with warriors and riders accompanied by generic leaders….
Is that kind of list even worthwhile or will I just get crushed against a similar sized Gondor or Mordor army that brings a bit more variety than just that?

I guess what would help me the most is some advice is some beginner lists that make sense but also start slow on the amount of models bought. I don’t mind splurging a bit and starting with suladan too, I just want to make sure I’m going about it the right way so I can test the waters and have fun doing so.

Thanks a ton in advance!

Discussion Need help with Halls of Thranduil Army List

What do you think about my halls of thranduil army list? I think about swaping legolas for a normal captain to have some more points for normal palace guards. I am also not sure if the great elk is worth it for thranduil. Do you have any tipps for playing this army?

Edit: everything you say is right, but until now I only have the palace guards and rangers, since I bought the Battelhost. Do you find my idea of building an army with these units good enough?

Question Great beast question

I was planning on building a great beast of gorgoroth list but had a question, can he benefit from the troll drummer?
