I'm not hating it, just sayin' I don't like this album so much as her other albums she did. I mean there's good tracks in the album such as, "Faded" "Thirsty" "Cry" and "#Beautiful" BUT I also adore some of the tracks. "Dedicated" was okay... "Supernatural" is cute, but then again the production is kinda... Not the vibe for me. But I have big faith that it'll grow on me just like Music Box and Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel.

Saw this after ordering.. should I be scared?

It’s A Wrap is definitely one of Mariah’s finest works in my opinion. The intro alone is very solemn and a suspenseful slow-build before the beat drops and SLAPS! However, when Mariah released the remixed version with Mary J. Blige, I couldn’t help but laugh at the monologue. Mary was keeping it real and just going awf while Mariah’s angelic vocals stewed in the background. When Mary says “You need to cut this guy…loose” I always crack up.

Which version do y’all like better?

Last Night a DJ Saved My Life (Rare unreleased video)

I have emailed Mariah's store 3x asking if/when I'll be receiving mine and all I get back is the "We'll contact you in 2-3 business days." Is anyone else having this issue? What do you suggest besides requesting a refund, which I don't want to do. I see everyone else getting theirs and debating the signatures. I'm so sad.

Any theories on why didn't "When You Believe" perform better on the charts? It was peak Mariah and Whitney days, the song was catchy, two big labels behind it and it won an Oscar, should it have been a guaranteed #1?

I just got an email stating that my order for the signed vinyl.. Amazon told me they could not fulfill my order.. has anyone else gotten this email? Mine just came in.

Having gotten two anniversary editions in close succession this year, I’ve realized how Mariah’s team approaches anniversary albums can be a mixed bag at times, but she is really leading the charge in this space (often imitated, never duplicated). I can’t really think of any of her peers that are using this space to cement or reflect on their legacy like she has been.

It isn’t a perfect approach. There are quite a few missed opportunities for some albums, and we’ve all read the stories of people’s orders getting canceled, shipped late, arriving damaged etc. (myself included). Which can leave a poor taste in one’s mouth. There are also questionable tracklist choices like including tracks already available on streaming or YouTube in anniversary editions over something more “rare” or not having the new tracks available on physical copies.

That said, you can really tell her and her team are doing their best to go the extra mile for these. She mastered Butterfly in Dolby Atmos herself, getting the Here is Mariah Carey Concert on streaming, demos, new behind the scenes footage, extended takes, etc. These purely for cash grabs for so many artists. 1 new track/remix and a colored vinyl. The end. However, Mariah’s really going into the vault and digging for gold. It’s a true fan service. Like unearthing Lead The Way (1997)?! A regular fan isn’t even thinking about that. But she KNOWS the lambs have speculated and wondered and now she’s finally giving it to us. It makes being a lamb really fun now that studio content is less frequent.

I also think there’s something to be said for how these anniversary celebrations show that even as she’s reaching back further into her catalogue, she’s still got her ear to the streets of the music scene, working with remixers like Kaytranada, Solange, Rochelle Jordan, Amorphous, etc. All this said, I’m pumped!! For Glitter this Friday!!

As the Christmas season is approaching, I wanted to bring up this track from her underappreciated second Christmas album.
Her vocals here are truly GLORIOUS. I can’t stop listening to it. Phenomenal.
And not to mention her mother…
