I wanted a "where I've been" map that goes deeper than countries, so I built one.
What it does:
- World map plus about 200 country maps. You can colour countries, or open a country and colour its states, provinces, or districts. That covers the 50 US states, Japan's 47 prefectures, Bangladesh's 64 districts, and more.
- Two coverage numbers. One is the share of places you've been (12 of 47 prefectures = 26%). The other is land area, so Alaska counts for far more than Rhode Island.
- "Want to go" list for the places you're still dreaming about.
- "Suggest to a friend" mode. Tap the places a friend shouldn't miss and send them the link. When they open it, they see your picks, which ones they've already been to, and they can add the rest to their own want-to-go list with one tap.
- Compare maps. Open a friend's shared map and see where you've both been, where only they've been, and where only you've been.
- Share or download. Share to WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Telegram, and others, or save your map as an image.
Privacy: You don't need an account. Your map is saved in your browser and never sent to my server. A share link holds the places themselves in a short code.

I'd love to hear what's missing, whether that's a country with the wrong regions or a feature you'd want. And post your percentage. I'm curious who has the most coverage 🌍
