personal Alcohol addiction

• Upvotes

I have been struggling with alcohol addiction, last year i went to see a psychiatrist and i was told i have severe alcohol use disorder and was refered to some well known psychotherapist but i could not afford to go for treatment. I have tried abstaining but i always get back but so far this year i can say i would drink once a month but its usually a bender. While looking for help online i came across a drug called naltrexone. Has anyone come across it in this country and also any general tips on how i can get better

Just last week there were concerns over how Malawians were bullying Miss Teen Universe contestants and days before people were bullying a dead woman because they believe that she promoted everything LGBTQ - I won't even get into this.

This week, the KC Current page announced a player's engagement. Malawians flocked to the page just to curse in their mother tongue. Commenting on the post is now restricted.

It just got me thinking how what people do with their private parts gets others so angry and how they feel the need to spew insults like savages. I don't know whether its because of a lack of exposure but Malawians need to learn social media etiquette and accept that the world out there is very different. Yes we can't all accept same sex relationships but if you don't have anything nice to say, scroll along.

And worst of all, people don't realise that chances are very high that the Chawinga Sisters aren't even straight. People will lose their minds when they find out some day.

Malawi's infrastructure

It's 2026 and you can clearly see how behind Malawi is as compared to other countries , our buildings are old and ugly , our roads terrible and as a country we don't even have a skyscraper, our tallest building is like 15 floors which is embarrassing in this time and age , and yet when introducing new projects we still building like 1960s , tima building tosalongosoka mbwee intown , what do you guys think is the real issue ? Money? Lack of visionary leaders? Lack of investors? Kapena chani cause we're soo behind its not even funny .

Temwa Chawinga becomes first African woman to reach top 10 of the Balon D'Or

Post image
51 Upvotes

As the Ballon D'Or awards for the best players in the world over the past year were being announced, Temwa Chawinga was voted at number 10 in the women's rankings. In doing so she became the FIRST EVER African woman to reach that high. This comes after helping Malawi reach the final of the 2026 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), among other great performances.

Congratulations, this is such an amazing achievement 👏👏. And hopefully they can win it some day

Is social media influencing actually profitable in Malawi? 🇲🇼

Ma guys, ndikufuna ndidziwe za social media influencing ku Malawi. Is it actually profitable, or is it just hype? 😭😂

For those who are already doing it, how much do you realistically make? Do brands actually pay Malawian creators, and what are the usual rates for sponsored posts, TikToks, or Instagram reels?

Also, do you get paid in cash, products, or both? And how many followers or views do you need before brands start taking you seriously?

Tiuzeni zoona guys 😂 I want to hear from people with actual experience, not just what we see online. Even if you’re earning a little, share your experience.

discussion The gays aren't ruining our society. It's the politicians

It's so frustrating hearing people things like 'ma gay akuononga ana athu' when it's so untrue. Your children are dying because of the greed in Government and you think gays are the problem??? Ninety percent of Malawians living under the poverty line, 38% of girls getting married before their 18th birthday, plus a huge famine is coming and the government shows no signs of any preparation whatsoever. We also have children by the thousands living in the streets, I'm telling you our politicians are not hated enough.

There's a plethora of problems that this country is facing and I can guarantee that they root back to corruption and not the gays. Let's place blame where it belongs and leave a minority alone.

School vs Entrepreneurship

I've always had issues with this topic where you find one group throwing shade on the other and it just shows a lack of logic somehow.

Success in not a one way system, people get rich in different ways and if education was really the only way to success then you wouldn't find people who have degrees but are still struggling to provide for themselves, and if entrepreneurship was the only way, you wouldn't find people out there going into bankruptcy because their business is tumbling

Kuli anthu oti anapita ku school and they are able to provide for their families and live a flashy life while someone who thought school is a waste of time dropped out and started a business koma zinthu sizimamuyendela and that does not mean the only way to success is education and not entrepreneurship

Kuliso anthu oti anasiya school and started ma business and panopa ndiochita bwino kwambili and someone who thought starting a business can't take you anywhere in life is out there struggling ndi degree mmanja but that also doesn't mean kuti school is a waste of time and we should all start ma business.

You have to understand that mene angachitile bwino munthu wina is not the same way you can make it because if it was like that ndekut tonse tikanangopanga choice yoti we should stick to that, life is random, very unpredictable and as long as you make it, it won't matter if you went to school or not because at the end of the day tonse sitingakhale ofanana

NRB: Applying for ID

Guys, alipo amene ali ndi connection or knows someone ku NRB? I need to get my ID made, but I’m currently outside the country. I’ve sent emails and messages and followed up multiple times, but there’s been no acknowledgment or response at all. Honestly, the bureaucracy in our country is just out of this world. Any help or connections would be greatly appreciated.

Office politics

Anyone else hate their job because of office politics. I understand it's a part of corporate life, however I find it so draining. You're always walking on eggshells afraid to say the wrong things because it might offend someone. I work at a parastatal and it's so so bad, ndale too much. Here just being from a certain district or region is enough for someone to dislike you under the assumption that you're affiliated with a political party they dislike.

Pays good tho, can't complain about that. And I'd like to climb up the "corporate ladder", but I don't see that happening here unless I find a political connection lol. Best part of my job is leaving at the end of the day...

Abale why are you guys acting as if it plays a political role in our society?

Getting mad when a literal ball doesn't enter a net?

Wasting money in betting as if you can actually "guess" what is going to happen.

Getting shocked when people show their interests by saying they aren't interested in seeing people chase a ball for 90mins
