My daughter has an 87% weighted average—a couple of difficult HS years followed by all As in 11th grade (honors / dual-college programs). Skipped the SATs. Strong essay (about said difficult years) and two internships. Is she a strong ED candidate for College of Liberal Arts?

How strong is LMU’s alumni network in the Los Angeles area for undergrads and recent graduates? I’m particularly interested in how helpful alumni are with mentoring, internships, and job opportunities within the Business school.

USC talks a lot about its “Trojan Network,” so I’m curious how LMU’s network compares. Is it similarly active and helpful, especially for students interested in business and marketing, or is it not really comparable? Thanks!

I am a recently accepted transfer to LMU and have started to look at housing options, I was wondering if anyone knows what its like to stay in the pods in palm south or specifically what its like to be in the transfer llc? I feel like it would be a could option to get acclimated with a community on campus but I wanted to hear others experiences?

Hi everyone! i’m currently a student at CSUF and love it here although the commute and dorming experience is just absolutely terrible. I love my roommate and would be sad to say bye although the funds to afford my housing aswell as dining hall has just been so detrimental. I’ve been heavily considering transferring to LMU but still not fully sure. It’s about 10 minutes away from home so i’d save on not worrying about a dorm. I am aware of tuition being more pricey although i’ve been given the max from financial aid and have some scholarships. I have applied for a private my senior year of highschool that was 50k a year but got enough funds to drop it down to 12k a year. I’m hoping LMU could offer me a similar package and if so i’d for sure consider my transfer. I’d appreciate if anyone can give me some good comparisons and tips for my situation.

Hello, I applied and got accepted to LMU spring 2027 and I was wondering if I were to live far away from campus, and I don’t drive, is public transportation good and reliable in LA? Or is it something that I’m gonna have problems with in terms of safety and reliability? of course safety is a factor that’s not guaranteed anywhere, but I really don’t want to end up spending hundreds on Uber every day to get to campus. And I also don’t want to live in shared housings, renting around LMU for a walking distance is out of my budget. I come from a very walkable city, so I never really had to worry about transportation until now, I feel safe taking the train at night mostly but I’m not sure how it is in California. thank you!!

I wish I could take a gap year but my parents said i had to go here. I have no money am failing classes and feel depressed.

i keep booking study rooms and there are either people who haven’t booked the rooms in them before and during my time, or people who have previous bookings that stay in the rooms and run into my time :/ do people actually respect the bookings and is there a polite/agreed upon way to kick them out????

hi! i’m a high school senior from arizona, and LMU is probably my number two school behind Pepperdine. i love the location, campus size, catholic identity, and the possibility of studying business in los angeles.

i’m currently interested in business/finance and possibly complex commercial insurance brokerage, so i’d really appreciate honest answers from current students or alumni:

• how easy is it to make close friends, especially if you aren’t heavily involved in greek life?
• is the christian/catholic community actually active among students? are retreats, mass, small groups, service, or christian organizations well attended?
• what is greek life like? is recruitment intense, and does social life feel divided between people who are and aren’t involved? id love to get involved... if its not too scary.
• what do weekends look like? do people stay around campus, go into LA, go to the beach, or go home?
• does LMU have much school spirit? is campus lively outside class, or can it feel quiet?
• how necessary is a car, and how expensive is it to participate in the typical social life?
• for business students, how useful are LMU’s internships, alumni network and connections in LA? i’m especially interested in finance, sales, insurance, entrepreneurship and commercial real estate.
• how accurate was LMU’s net price calculator compared with your actual grant and scholarship offer? my affordable comparison is ASU at about $14k per year including housing and food, without counting loans.
• what do you wish you had known before choosing LMU?

hi guys, I’m transferring to LMU spring semester from chapman University and I wanted to know how different is the social scene compare Chapman. Because at Chapman, it’s mostly just like an occasional frat parties every few weeks and they get pretty they get rolled by like 1 am and there’s nothing really to do in Orange County but like go to Disney and like the beach so is LMU different I know cause it’s in LA and if I bring a car like there’s a lot of things to do so what other things is there to do?
