Mod post [Meta]🛡️ Collaborators of the regressive right (BJP, RSS, बददिमाग़ सनातनी), have no place on this subreddit

This community is not open to collaborators.

We see no reason to welcome those who support movements that threaten our existance and endanger all that we have worked so hard to achieve.

We owe it to those who have sacrificed so much to get us to this point to make sure to not let traitors amongst us leech off us to push their own regressive ideas.

BJP and its sister organisations and affiliated movements that peddle hate and treat our existence like a joke, are a threat to our existence, and we will NOT tolerate any content here by their apologisers who collaborate with them and try to defend them.

Collaborators are just as responsible for all the suffering and death queer people have had to endure under the current ruling political establishment, and we have no desire to treat these individuals with the kind of basic human decency they threaten to take away from us.

Protecting our rights starts with not tolerating such individuals.

This is where we must take our stand!!

Discussion💬 To My Closeted Gay/Bi Guys..How Are You

To all my fellow gay/bi guys, especially those of us who aren't out, how are you navigating life right now?

When it comes to love and relationships, are you actively looking for someone, secretly yearning for love,or have you put that part of your life on hold while focusing on yourself?

Do you ever wish you could find someone who matches your standards, both physically and emotionally? Someone who understands you, shares your values, and wants the same things in life, without having to hide parts of yourself around them?

If you're closeted, how does that affect your ability to date, connect with people, or imagine a future with someone? Is it family, society, fear of being judged, safety, financial dependence, or simply not being ready to come out?

Are you waiting until you're financially independent or in a better place in life before pursuing love? Or do you sometimes feel like life is passing you by while you're waiting for the right time?

What are your goals right now, both personally and romantically? What do you need from a partner, and what do you think you can offer them? Are you looking for something serious, something casual, or just someone you can be yourself with?

I'm genuinely curious about your experiences. How do you balance your identity, ur need for connection, and the reality of living a life where not everyone knows who you are?

Discussion💬 Do lavender marriages actually exist in India?

Are there people who marry someone of the opposite sex to hide their LGBTQ+ identity due to family pressure, societal expectations, or fear of being judged? Has anyone witnessed or heard of such situations in real life?

Advice 👋/ Help❗ How to look after old age parents if you’re abroad?

Early apologies for spilling my personal life here. I don’t have anyone else to talk to about this.

For context I’m (28, M) currently abroad and am closing in on the pathway to citizenship. I have a more stable career path in healthcare in the country I live in presently and hence the move. In the event it happens (by the looks of it .. seemingly unlikely at times) and I do become a citizen, I constantly fret about my parents health and mental wellbeing.

I’m not out to my parents yet and doubt if I ever want to come out because they’ll probably never accept it or it might come at the cost of a mental breakdown and/or physical health issues (dad’s a cardiac patient as it is). Plus, Ive never felt the need to come out really unless it’s due to societal marriage pressure.

My parents are financially well off, don’t engage in anything risky health wise thankfully, and are generally very responsible people. They’re not perfect parents and Ive generally had a very loving childhood albeit the usual issues with my mum and dad not being very understanding of millennial/gen z issues. This has led to tiny rifts in my relationship with dad especially. But on the whole things are okay.

However, they chose to retire in a godforsaken tiny town without much amenities and refuse to move to an apartment in the city close to a hospital. Dad is exceptionally stubborn and has massive health anxiety issues, refuses any help at all etc. They’re okay for now but wont be for too long because thats human nature - and I’m so so scared that something will happen to them and I’ll fall apart because my only sibling and I are both abroad. And she being a girl isn’t as expected to look after my parents compared to me. I don’t mind looking after my parents at all provided they listened to me and didn’t dismiss my advices for their health.

Tricky situation as it is, topped off by me being gay and perpetually single without a partner or friends or family really to help me out? Caregiving is very hard and I’m at my wits end thinking of a plan. Plus, just overthinking about what might happen to me in my old age when I’m old and single with health issues.

Does anyone have any advice about this? Has anyone moved back home from abroad to sort this out and support their parents? How do you manage caregiving (for example for a parent with chronic illness) with having a partner? Or without a partner or anyone really for support? Please let me know if thats alright thank you!

Discussion💬 I hate the concept of coming out!!!!!

The notion that we have to come out has always been irrational and quite Frankly disrespectful to me ,its like we are accepting that whatever society says about us is true, we are different, abnormal etc.

Why should we have to come out ????

Why are we made to be vulnerable and share what we like to do behind the 4walls of our bedroom ??? With consenting adults!!!!

World has never been kind to anything or anyone who falls outside of what a mob can understand to be "normal" and coming out just seems like fueling the fire for your own pyre .

I do get the emotional part of wanting to be seen by the people we love ,but even then it becomes a power struggle, you hand the power over to the person you're coming out too , your mood , your own self image ,if it goes well it goes, well good for you but if it doesn't ? , gosh i cannot even try and imagine the scars of people like us who didn't have the Disney coming out story to share on here .

A UK based TERF organisation fighting against trans rights in India makes absolutely no sense to me.
If this were any other issue before the Supreme Court, people would be rejecting then calling this as our internal matter.
But when it comes to trans people, suddenly those same matters to be up for debate. This is disgusting.

Question❓ India is not ready for a gay judge, but was always ready for criminal MPs, MLAs and Ministers. And what a person's sexuality has to do with their professional competence.

Advice 👋/ Help❗ Am extremely happy but also panicking 😩

29/10/2026

I am extremely happy that I got my HRT zipped in my bag as of this moment. But my parents need a lot of time to process all this; as of now, they are not okay with my decision. I am running out of time and am panicking as I need to vacate this space where I am residing in a week’s time, provided by my employer, which turned out to be a really bad job. I’ll be heading back home for a month to complete my pending work and complete my cryopreservation as well, but later I need a safe space for myself I can’t choose my home state it extremely saturated with family, friends and my clients.

I have 4 options:
1. Either I stay in Bangalore and protect my sanity and my transition at cost of being jobless in an expensive city.
2. Move back to Hyderabad where I get to work and earn at the cost of losing my safety of transitioning but still proceed further, eventually losing out on my work completely to zero

  1. just do a degree here in Bangalore, complete my course, making it my time to transition before I get a job and leave photography completely to dust. But having the power to earn without anyone above me is such a blessing for my transition.

  2. Just go to Nepal as I have experienced the culture there is seriously welcoming when it comes to LGBT lock in a degree there and it’s affordable and I don’t need passport or visa or lakhs in bank to stay there

HELP I need to earn while am transitioning safely.

vent/rant Should I just give up?

Should I just give up?

31, MtF. I have an enby partner who loves me. I used to be a doctor (Internal Medicine) but got fired after I transitioned and now can't find work. Used to have friends but most of them cut me off. Had to leave my hometown and settle all the way across the country. Now the Trans Amendment Act and TERFs are working together to deprive us all of our rights. I pass mostly but am unusually tall (5'8"). I feel like I am a threat everywhere I go. Today a UK backed TERF organisation has filed a petition with the Supreme Court to not consider trans women as women but as biological men and to legally invalidate provisions for gender identity. I now realistically have no hope of earning a living. Considering SW at this point, maybe OF. Should I just go back in the closet? I feel so ashamed of myself. Do most women consider me a threat? Am I a monster? I am seriously considering detransitioning socially.

(Context, I am from India)

I'm going through this situation right now, and honestly, I'm confused about how I should feel or handle this friendship. Part of me feels hurt, but I also don't know if I'm overthinking things.

If you were in my place, what would you do? Would you try to save the friendship or walk away? I'd genuinely appreciate your advice. 🥹

Advice 👋/ Help❗ Have a few questions regarding transition , can anyone help me out

I'm from Kolkata and have been on diy hrt for like 1 year, recently my parents found out my syringes and also how every unknown person mistakes me for a girl , but I somehow lied to my dad but I'm pretty sure he doesn't buy it . Doesn't really matter anyway because both of them are pretty chill with it and he said he will talk to doctors and therapists if I want to transition .

My question is what are the steps to legally do it in this country m specially after the bill that was passed in March . Can anyone with any experience enlighten me on this topic ? Ultimate goal is to leave this country anyway for gotta cover all my bases till then . Tyvm for the help

Coming Out!!! Finally finally got my HRT 🥳

Taking out my report out of my wardrobe itself was like a national security threat when I was with my parents that led me to failed attempts and heated arguments I started taking steps to get my Progynova (estrogen) from multiple psychologists appointments, getting appointment of endocrinologist and then somehow managed to get my dad to attend a psychiatrist session with me but that did not help luckily I got a opportunity to move to Bangalore and in span of 22 days I completed my psychiatrist sessions, got my gender dysphoria certificate to finally getting my HRT am so excited to start my medication but I’ll be holding on to this just because my mom asked me one thing "I want to play with my grandkids" I said ok so last step is I do cryopreservation just for my mom then start on my HRT. The only thing that makes me my parents argue is about me being transgender choosing a life to live as a woman but I know for a fact that my mom will be there for me and understand down the lane, it’s for her ❤️

Speedy got my hands on estrogen yayayayay 🥳❤️❤️💕
