This year’s Suzuran-dori Parade brought together familiar friends and longtime companions, along with some new faces joining our ranks!

It was a pleasure to gear up and take to the streets together, sharing our passion for medieval-inspired aesthetics and introducing tens of thousands of people to a different side of the medieval world.

Some context for those curious: OrdoMediare is a military order-style LARP warband. Beyond public events like this parade, we [describe what you do, e.g. roleplay characters within the order, hold in-character gatherings, practice formations or drills].

Parades give us a chance to bring our characters to the street and share the hobby with the public.

Has anyone here taken their group to a public parade or festival? Would love to hear how it went!

This is my first time posting so hopefully I Included all the necessary info.

Location: Los Angeles (city) but I am willing to drive up to Fresno, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and palm springs. As along as I can make it back within the same day I am good to drive.

Budget: ideally between $300 to $400 but have $600 set aside. I figured with the setting I might not need to spend as much but I could be wrong.

Setting: A court intrigue murder mystery event, about 3 days long. It's close to where I live so I can easily drive back and forth.

A good friend of mine invited me to this event but I am having a hard time deciding on what exactly would be appropriate to wear for this event. The other Larp events I have attended have been modern day World of Darkness so that was easier for me to put together.

My current concepts/ideas that I figure won't break the bank and work with the event.

An envoy/visitor from a distant land who got caught up in this murder (not European and yes I am aware of how tricky that can be to be respectful to outfit without falling into stereotypes. If anything I would lean into my culture (Latino) to avoid those pitfalls)

A palace handmaiden who sees too much and knows more than she should

A random squire

A lesser noblewoman

was wanting to find a lil group that would want to RP a dark brotherhood guild- preferably in person in the portland Oregon area

We could have some ppl rp as targets and get together with out little hoods and uniforms and ranks like the ones from Oblivion and get together in our little sanctuary, have a listener and all that and be all like "HOHO NIGHT MOTHER SAID KILL THIS GUY" and then go out on missions or something to find the person.
