This year’s Suzuran-dori Parade brought together familiar friends and longtime companions, along with some new faces joining our ranks!

It was a pleasure to gear up and take to the streets together, sharing our passion for medieval-inspired aesthetics and introducing tens of thousands of people to a different side of the medieval world.

Some context for those curious: OrdoMediare is a military order-style LARP warband. Beyond public events like this parade, we [describe what you do, e.g. roleplay characters within the order, hold in-character gatherings, practice formations or drills].

Parades give us a chance to bring our characters to the street and share the hobby with the public.

Has anyone here taken their group to a public parade or festival? Would love to hear how it went!

This is the last one of the helmet. Next posts Will be of more of the Costume

Does any costumer make this or are all the versions I have seen custom made by the wearer?

(I know it look like we’re just sitting here…that’s how good we are)
It was a 35 degree day and we’re were boiling haha

I am lokking to buy a gambeson and basic plate armour, but i dont know if they will fit together nicely (in a practical sense, not in the "how it looks" sense)

Hail friends!

Figured it's time I show off some of my kit to the wider larp world, as it's been a few years since I started this amazing hobby! My kit is inspired by the School of the Griffin from the Witcher universe, if you couldn't tell by the medallion.

Comments/critiques always appreciated!

P.S.: My glasses aren't part of the kit, I just sometimes forget to take them off for photo time lol

I don't know if there are rules around art in this subreddit but lately I've been drawing and painting several larpers/reenactors

Hope you guys enjoy it, more to come from the wonderful people on this sub !

I call it the "landskserker", a good blend of fantasy viking and landsknecht, with some extra elder scrolls flavor. Some will see it and probably say I've got a lot going on, but I couldn't be happier with it so far. Still a few tweaks I wanna make, so suggestions and comments are more than welcome :)

Hello,

This is my first time posting so hopefully I Included all the necessary info.

Location: Los Angeles (city) but I am willing to drive up to Fresno, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and palm springs. As along as I can make it back within the same day I am good to drive.

Budget: ideally between $300 to $400 but have $600 set aside. I figured with the setting I might not need to spend as much but I could be wrong.

Setting: A court intrigue murder mystery event, about 3 days long. It's close to where I live so I can easily drive back and forth.

A good friend of mine invited me to this event but I am having a hard time deciding on what exactly would be appropriate to wear for this event. The other Larp events I have attended have been modern day World of Darkness so that was easier for me to put together.

My current concepts/ideas that I figure won't break the bank and work with the event.

An envoy/visitor from a distant land who got caught up in this murder (not European and yes I am aware of how tricky that can be to be respectful to outfit without falling into stereotypes. If anything I would lean into my culture (Latino) to avoid those pitfalls)

A palace handmaiden who sees too much and knows more than she should

A random squire

A lesser noblewoman

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi all!

I’m working on creating a sci-fi LARP within the next year. It’s a survival horror boffer LARP about a frontier colony on an alien planet facing struggles and mysteries. I’ve been LARPing for a bit over a decade, and ran a post-apocalypse LARP before, also a professional costume designer on the side. Running a scifi LARP has been a dream for a while, as it’s my most beloved genre.

Now, sci-fi as a genre doesn’t get many LARPs - for obvious reasons. The set dressing and suspension of disbelief is much harder, fantasy tends to be a lot easier and more popular, etc.

I wanted to ask the community, what would draw you to a sci fi LARP? What would you like to see? What would turn you off? Have any ideas, or common pitfalls you can see ahead?

I’m in Ontario, Canada, if that helps!

Hi,

was wanting to find a lil group that would want to RP a dark brotherhood guild- preferably in person in the portland Oregon area

We could have some ppl rp as targets and get together with out little hoods and uniforms and ranks like the ones from Oblivion and get together in our little sanctuary, have a listener and all that and be all like "HOHO NIGHT MOTHER SAID KILL THIS GUY" and then go out on missions or something to find the person.

I DONT KNOW THE DETAILS IM JUST THE IDEA CHICK

hail Sithis! <3

Hey LARPers! I love bringing LARP characters and their unforgettable moments to life through fantasy illustrations!

Here are a few pieces I've created from real LARP experiences.

My commissions are currently open! If you'd love to see your own character or a special memory brought to life, feel free to DM me!

I live in Olympia and am willing to travel a bit. I've only found online only groups for wod games. Some sites pointed me to Seattle but once I checked out the games it turns out they weren't even in this state. I'm new to LARP so I don't know what other avenues to use to keep looking. I'm a big wod fan so that's why I'm primarily looking for a game that takes place in that setting.

I am looking to set up a LARP or immersive experience inspired by classic Monster-Trainer shows like Pokémon or Digimon. I want it to target older children (8+) while strongly encouraging families to participate together.
This is a non-contact experience where players use a deck of cards to resolve combats, but the focus is on teamwork rather than combat.
While my background isn't in LARP per se, I do have over 100 hours of play therapy training and a degree in Child and Youth Care and Early Childhood Education, so imaginative play has been my jam for many years.
I want the experience to be accessible to people who may not have much experience. The setting is similar to real life, except you have a "Companion" (stuffed animal or Toy) that joins you on your adventures. You only need a notebook, a deck of cards, and a companion. Dressing up as a team is optional, as I don't want this to discourage people from joining. I know adults can struggle with imaginative play, but when a parent supports a child in play, it can help build a parent-child relationship; that being said, children can form teams on their own and participate together if they want.
While fighting wild creatures and duelling one another are part of play, other Pillars of Play are involved, and they all support one another. Examples include becoming a healer, researcher, or merchant, or working with the Referee and Clerk to support special events and puzzles.

I am curious whether there is interest in this type of play. Are there any things that I should consider when organizing?

Polyurethane armor set as it is. Currently working on some adjustments, backplate and right shoulder (want to make it a bit bigger).

Welll… not Living… moving… 😆
