There is a kind of quiet I have grown used to. It has been faithful company, and most days I am genuinely content on my own.
But, personally and based on life experiences, there is a difference between being comfortable alone and being at peace with the idea of never being truly known by someone.
I made a post here few weeks ago, but it didn't fetch me the gift I desired.
Lately, that feeling has grown quieter, and I have stopped arguing with the part of me that wants to share a life with someone.
I am already 32 years of age, 5"11 tall, more of African than American with no relationship history.
I do not say that with regret or embarrassment. It is simply the truth of how I have lived. I waited because I have always believed that giving a woman your heart should mean something. If I ever do, I want to do it fully, not out of curiosity or loneliness, but with the intention to build something lasting. I do not smoke, do not womanize and do not drink.
I was raised in a home that took character seriously, and I still carry those lessons with me.
Kindness, self control, honesty, and responsibility have never felt optional. Life has generally taught me how to listen, remain steady when things are difficult, and keep going when life asks more of me. I have also learned to understand that the past cannot be fixed because it's the past, hence the need to work on the future. I am also finishing my nursing degree because I want a life built around both purpose and family, and as well be responsible for the welfare of the family.
I am quiet by nature and find most of what I need in stillness, meaningful work, and a sense of purpose. I do not need constant excitement to feel alive, and I have come to value peace more than that chemistry that burns brightly and disappears just as quickly.
What I want is simple, even if I know it is rare. I want a woman who is genuine and steady, feminine without needing to perform it, ambitious without being restless, and clear about what she believes.
Someone who values marriage not just as an idea, but as a commitment worth protecting.
I picture a marriage that feels like shelter, a place where two people can tell each other the truth without fear, pray together, build a life together, and raise children who know what steady love looks like. I believe peace does not mean a life without difficulty. It means choosing kindness and understanding even when things are difficult.
I want the kind of love where we repair what is broken rather than walking away when things become uncomfortable, and where we wake up the next morning and choose each other again.
I do not expect perfection. I want a love that sees beyond verbal demonstration, but in practicality and expression. A love that sees beyond race, color, status but a love that's aligned with goals, purpose, foresight, believing that there's a future and hope.
I am looking for someone who is willing to understand, grow together, and remain committed when love requires patience. I am very pure in heart, soft in kindness.
If that sounds like the kind of life you are hoping for too, I would like to meet you.
