For centuries, Afghanistan has stood between worlds, bridging the east and the west. From the outside, its land holds great strategic value for both armies and merchants, yet internally, its people are in conflict. The nation came out the other side of the Weltkrieg relatively unscathed, and won further accolades in the Fourth Anglo-Afghan War, unifying with its countrymen previously under Indian rule. But what it has become cannot continue, as its people must choose between further social and political reform and preserving their links to their forebears and traditions, all the while keeping an eye on the growing influence and manipulation of interested Great Powers.
This release includes the Kingdom of Afghanistan, in an expansive and all-encompassing update that brings full content to one of the few remaining countries in the mod without it - but of course, that is not all.
Moving through Asia and ascending the Himalayas, we revisit the Kingdom of Bhutan, the small mountainous realm itself dealing with its own internal struggles. Building extensively on the unique gameplay of the previous Bhutan content from five years ago, this rework sheds new light on and explores in further detail the inner workings of the court of the Druk Gyalpo.
And naturally, it goes without saying that this large release also includes multiple wide-reaching changes to many other aspects of the mod, such as new leaders, updated character formatting, extensive performance changes, careful rebalancing, and plenty of new portraits and icons for you all to enjoy.
For the mod as a whole, this release marks another step forward on our long-stated goal of having unique content and focus trees for every starting country in the game. Considering new content and reworks, several countries are currently being worked on simultaneously, with some closer to completion than others. And while we know you are hungry for even more new content, we hope you enjoy this trip to the heart of Asia, for at the crossroads of civilisation, there are many roads to take...

Even if my overlaying skills weren't the best, you can still see the MASSIVE difference in actual location of Kunming. It should be one province down southeast and surprise there's already a perfect province for it. This is literally unplayable as kunming can be directly attacked by those addicted sichuaners. They fixed Xi'an but not Kunming? Justice for Kunming!

KR 1.7? Afghanistan content? 3I rework teaser?! What are you talking about? As I write this, it's August 16th, 2024, and Almaron just posted a rework proposal to the 2AWC; everyone's talking about it!
Okay so ya I'm super late to this, but in my defence, I never really gave it much thought until recently.
Anyways, on to my question: In Almaron's rework proposal, his idea for the 1928 Election is that the hijinks caused by the Great Depression and the subsequent mishandling of it by the "fiscally conservative republican president" (which ended up being Frank Lowden) caused a great enough third-party influence to force a contingent election, which the Republicans won; however, this is not the case in-game (shown above). So, like, why?
In my personal opinion, the idea of the beginning of the red belt, John Reed's peak in relevancy (before the 2ACW, of course), and another four years of ineffective Republican presidency because of a "stolen" contingent election, is all really interesting to me. I also would imagine that this would be a far greater motivator in the upcoming civil war than just, "Oh, the Democrats might have swept in 1928, but then they stole the 1932 contingent elections, bro, I swear, can you believe they're not following through on their promise?" The idea that the Democrats finally won over the god-forbiden Republicans and their 8 years of decline, just for them to do nothing, would be far more outrageous to the 1936 KRTL American than what little expectations were given to Al Smith in 1928 past, "just get Lowden out of office," not being met.
Unplayable.

This is my take on a Cold War scenario set in 1950 in the Kaiserreich universe, presented as a mod. The Cold War here would ultimately be set between a victorious Reichspakt, named the Wehrpakt here, and the Fourth Internationale under the leadership of a victorious Workers' Commonwealth of America. The Atlantic would be in deep ideological gridlock and stalemate. Meanwhile, other nations would try to carve out their place in history in the shadows of the two superpowers. The concept for the mod is set around two major factions, proxy wars with a buildup to a Third Weltkrieg, and having some unaligned players that can go their own way.
German reaction and prussianism would dominate Europe. A continent crowned by the Kaiser against a revolutionary New World, one which is building and preparing the figurative Marxist new world. It would culminate in a massive Atlantic carrier/naval war, in an ultimate clash of labor and capital.
Major conflict points:
The Commonwealth of Britain/UoB would survive the 2nd Weltkrieg. Britain would become totalist or vanguardist after the war with Germany - a paranoid regime propped up by the radical socialist SPA in America. It is surrounded in its waters by the Germans on all sides, making it vulnerable to blockade.

After Savinkov's death in the WK2, army leadership would overthrow the SZRS and make peace with the Free Russian Army and Germany, compromising by making Semyonov the new president of Russia. Semyonov would even be president for life and preside over a most unstable dictatorship, with Russia facing its own 'years of lead' a la Italy. Additionally, Russia faces many unfair treaties and concessions to Germany, which a player would have to carefully remove one by one before starting a 3rd war with Germany to reclaim lost lands.
South East Asia witnesses the decay of German influence in the region, and the United Provinces of China and the People's Republic of India are set to spread their spheres as the colonies fall apart. The Chinese player would endure the hardships of a young democracy in China caught in the sail winds of the two superpowers.

I can answer any questions; I can explain my reasoning behind or my plans for certain regions. THIS IS NOT A MOD. I MADE THIS WITH MINOR CODE EDITS.

The British OTL tried to sell Australia the islands after WW2, considering Britain’s worse fiscal position after WW1 and the need to compensate Australia for its “loss” of German New Guinea, a post war transfer would make sense.
Even if Britain does not transfer it before 1926, the islands are close enough to Australian New Guinea that the Entente losing control of this otherwise passive protectorate seems unlikely.
Germany’s excuse for seizing other colonies of preventing anarchy or Socialism doesn’t really stand here either.

What says on the title. How could such a scenario come to be? I wanted to make a map, a personal work of mine, about such a scenario, and i thought how could it come to be. I always liked the idea of 3I vs MA, but, I always felt that fell in the "OTL but reversed" side of things, so, I trying to add the Entente (Be it led by the exiles in Canada, MacArthurist America, or anything like that) to make it three-way. How could this layout work post 2nd Weltkrieg?
(Disclaimer: I just recently got a PC, and that burned all my money, so I couldn't afford HOI4, but still i love the KR lore regardless and i want to be part of the community. Thx for anyone who's reading or answering me)

With some form of a Socialist EU being confirmed with the 3I rework, does Altiero Spinelli, a pioneer in terms of socialist Eurofederalism thought, play any sort of role?
He is a bit young for KR's timeframe (just 29 in 1936) which makes me only more curious whether or not he was even considered.

Hi everyone!
This project originally started with a fairly simple idea: I wanted to make a detailed, period-style map showing the changes to France’s and Belgium’s borders after Kaiserreich’s Treaty of Versailles of 6 November 1919, with the borders of 1914 included for comparison.
Having learned that the upcoming French rework will also involve changes to the Franco-Belgian border, I started thinking about what a slightly different settlement might look like. In particular, the directly annexed German province of Verviers has always bothered me. That eventually turned a cartography project into a small lore suggestion.
What follows is my own proposal, not an attempt to describe the forthcoming rework. The basic idea is to distinguish more clearly between permanent annexations, temporary military occupation, and territories administered as bargaining chips.
Two elements remain unchanged from the mod’s current, pre-French-rework setup:
My additional suggestion concerns the temporary administration of the rest of Belgian Luxembourg, which I will explain below.
Rather than annexing the whole Verviers area outright, I would split Germany’s gains into two distinct categories.
The German-speaking or historically German-speaking border areas around Plombières/Bleyberg, Montzen, Welkenraedt/Welkenrath and Limbourg/Limburg would be incorporated directly into the Prussian Rhine Province.
This would also include the eastern part of what is now Voeren/Fuhren, together with the former territory of Neutral Moresnet.
The French-speaking Walloon territory around Verviers would instead form the Military Government of Liège — Militärgouvernement Lüttich in German.
The premise is that Germany initially demanded considerably more. Drawing on the September Programme’s ambitions concerning Liège and Verviers, German negotiators wanted direct control over the strategically important approaches to Liège and its fortifications. British opposition, however, forced a compromise: instead of an immediate annexation, a defined territory would remain under German military administration pending a later settlement.
On the map, its southern boundary starts near Malmedy and broadly follows the Amblève and Ourthe. There are a few crossings to the opposite banks to keep the railway connection towards Liège within the territory. Near Embourg, the boundary turns to follow the terrain, enclosing the Liège forts east of the Meuse. It then runs northeast to meet the directly annexed border strip near Sint-Pieters-Voeren/Sankt Petersfuhren.
The distinction matters: the border strip becomes ordinary Prussian territory, while the military government remains a separate territory whose ultimate sovereignty is unresolved.
As compensation for the indefinite German occupation of the Liège–Verviers area, Belgium would be allowed to administer French territories around Maubeuge and Givet.
The inspiration here is their wartime administrative connection to German-occupied Belgium. In this proposed settlement, that arrangement would be repurposed as a diplomatic bargaining mechanism.
These French territories would be returned to France if and when the Military Government of Liège was returned to Belgium.
That creates a deliberately awkward arrangement: Belgium has lost control of part of its own territory but administers French territory in compensation. Its position is therefore tied to the unresolved German-Belgian dispute.
I have intentionally left the eventual outcome open. Whether Germany annexes the military government, returns it, or continues to postpone a decision could remain a live political issue.
The remaining Belgian province of Luxembourg would temporarily be administered by the enlarged Grand Duchy until Belgium had paid its war indemnities in full.
This is admittedly a peculiar arrangement, but that is partly the point. Luxembourg is now a member state of the German Empire, so Germany effectively controls the territory without the treaty formally calling it a German occupation zone.
It would serve two purposes:
Unlike the unresolved Liège arrangement, this occupation would already have ended by the game’s start: Belgian Luxembourg would be fully back under Belgian administration by 1936.
I also included two small transfers to the Netherlands:
Both would follow somewhat questionable plebiscites. Within the setting, it could be widely suspected that Germany encouraged these transfers to cultivate Dutch goodwill. Baarle-Hertog in particular provides an interesting case, given the difficulties its enclave situation caused during the war.
Elsewhere, the Franco-Belgian border remains at its 1914 position, apart from the two French territories under provisional Belgian administration.
In my proposed negotiations, Germany also pushed for Dunkirk to be transferred to Belgium, invoking the area’s Flemish-speaking population while seeking to weaken France further. British negotiators rejected that demand.
The proposed German-French border stays fairly close to the mod’s current arrangement. Most of my changes concern the exact line rather than the overall scale of the annexations.
Germany’s principal demand in the peace negotiantions would be the Longwy–Briey ore basin.
The arrondissement of Briey and the canton of Spincourt would be annexed, with a few adjustments. Most of this territory would be incorporated into the Imperial Territory of Alsace-Lorraine. The exception would be the formerly French town of Longwy, which would instead be incorporated directly into the enlarged Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It would be the only permanently ceded French territory assigned to Luxembourg rather than Alsace-Lorraine.
Compared with the current border, my version pushes slightly farther west in places to provide a buffer in front of the mining district.
Between the mining basin and the Vosges, several additional communes would join the District of Lorraine.
For these adjustments, I took inspiration from territories included in the provisional German administration during the Franco-Prussian War but left to France when the final border was settled in 1871.
Avricourt, divided by the border since 1871, would be reunited under German rule.
The existing border in the Vosges has always felt a little too expansive to me. I therefore used the September Programme’s reference to the possible annexation of the western slopes as the starting point for a more limited strategic frontier.
I wrote a Python script to help trace a defensible line along the terrain, without advancing unnecessarily far into the French interior or annexing the towns of Saint-Dié or Gérardmer.
This produces a more restrained but locally awkward frontier. Most of Saint-Dié remains French, while the Kellermann district and railway station pass to Germany and become a separate town called Kellermann. The name comes from the existing district, originally named after the French Revolutionary general François-Christophe Kellermann.
So Avricourt is reunited, but Saint-Dié is divided — one of the less tidy consequences of a frontier justified primarily on strategic grounds.
Finally, the Territoire de Belfort would be annexed to Alsace-Lorraine. Its acquisition was explicitly considered in the September Programme, although the decision on whether to demand it was left to the military authorities. Beyond the military and strategic rationale, I also drew inspiration from the provisional territorial arrangements of 1870–71 as a precedent that German negotiators might invoke after victory.
In addition to the permanent annexations, Germany would retain seven French departments as security until France’s war indemnities had been paid in full.
The intended parallel is the final occupation zone retained by Germany after the Franco-Prussian War, before the evacuation of 1873. The map distinguishes these occupied departments from territory permanently incorporated into the Empire.
I also marked the forts and military installations in France and Belgium that would have to be dismantled under the settlement.
Two other aspects of the settlement would be important but are harder to represent at this scale:
One possibility I considered was a small German-leased port area in Antwerp, loosely analogous to the Czechoslovak port arrangements in Hamburg and Stettin. In this scenario, however, British objections would mean an explicit prohibition on military use.
I see this as an optional addition rather than an essential part of the proposal.
The intention is not simply to give Germany more territory. It is to make the settlement’s different mechanisms more legible:
It would still be a coercive peace, but one containing compromises and unfinished disputes rather than treating every German demand as an outright annexation.
Ultimately, this all grew out of wanting to draw a nice “1914 versus post-Versailles” map. I would be interested to hear what people think, especially about replacing German Verviers with the military government and linking its future to Belgian administration of Maubeuge and Givet.
Feedback on the borders, the diplomatic logic, or the map itself is very welcome!
PS: Enjoy the Map in English or if you so prefer in French on the 2nd slide.

Hi!
New fan here. I recently became interested in the lore of Kaiserreich and I admire how well planned it is but I have a question. What is Spain's role in this alt history? I mean, like what changes related to Spanish history are part of it.
Thanks in advance!

Got thinking how context dependent a lot of success/failures in our world and had some random thoughts of WW2 things may have drastically changed reputations in the KR timeline.
M3lee, in OTL it was a stopgap midwar design with several key flaws that made it a disaster in the open fields and desserts against experienced German tank and flak crews. But take it from 1940 North Africa to 1940 civil war America, but barring international forces pouring in tanks it could easily be the biggest thing fighting in many places. Likely mostly fighting militias its reputation could change from a failed stop gap early tank to a decisive element in the end of the 2ACW, before then also being undergunned in a international intervention again.
American tank destroyer doctrine. Going against concentrated heavy German armor many have criticized the seek strike and destroy doctrine. But in the large theater of American operations quick glass canons as corps level assets may be more than adequate for the rare tank concentration.
Char B1. Historically it has a mixed reputation. 1 on 1 it could take nearly anything the germans had in 1940. But it was also a 1920s design with delayed production and hampered on a cautious french doctrine. But say a more dynamic French commune throws it into production when its designed and now instead of it being a delayed cutting edge it may be by the 1930s a reserve tank capable of blurting german counterattacks around the main force. No longer the key factor surrounded and undersupplied, but a backup punching well above its weight.
What do you guys think would be some interesting changes to how we remember certain tech, vehicles, and strategies in a world where germany won?

Japan sounds interesting but I couldn't properly design a ship or build a navy to save my life so I'd have to work with the starting navy plus whatever starter design ships I end up crapping out. Would that be sufficient to fight GEA and just pray that the Reichspakt gets screwed in Europe or should I just avoid Japan?
