Original Content Only! Reposters will be banned*
Hi friends,
You are amazing and wonderful, inspiring me daily to work on my never ending mending pile. Thank you for being part of this sweet community, I am grateful for you and your efforts to keep your mending as invisible as possible!
Unfortunately I’ve been seeing an uptick in karma farming bot posts lately. I hate bots almost as much as I hate ticks! So I have to enforce a new rule. Any account that posts someone else’s work (*without linking to the original post) will be removed and the account banned. I don’t want to waste any more energy on low effort karma farming. Thank you to people who flag these posts, it helps me remove them quickly while I chase my toddler around.
You are still welcome to share a mend that you didn’t do, so long as the original post (or link outside Reddit) is very prominent in your post. I love seeing inspiration and tutorials, please keep sharing those, but the original creator MUST be given credit.
So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so creative and sharing your hard work. Together we can fix all the things!

Help build a starter guide! Post helpful tutorials, books, etc here!
Hello friends!
I need your help! This sub desperately needs a starter guide, a how-to, a list of helpful resources. And I need your input to find the most useful helpful resources available.
Please post helpful guides, books, YT videos, anything that’s helped you invisibly mend. Doesn’t have to be clothing-related, any type of invisible mend is welcome and encouraged! I’ll compile these into a starter guide to help future menders mend.
BONUS the comment with the most upvotes will get…something really neat! Full transparency I just thought of this, so don’t know what you’ll get, but trust me it will be cool. Maybe I’ll knit a hat for you, idk.

Fixing holes in knit sleeves?
I am trying to figure out how to fix these holes. Would a straight stitch with a twin knit needle work? Or another approach? Any suggestions are appreciated. 🙏

Darning on the collar
Hey all,
Struggling to get started with fixing this hole in this jumper. I’ve watched a bunch of videos on darning but I’ve never actually done it before and I keep getting thrown by the fact that it’s not a standard stitch (I don’t think). I’ve done embroidery before, and crochet but not knitting.
Can someone please help me get started? Or have any recs for easy videos that’ll help?
Thanks!

Is there any way to remove super glue from clothing?
Hi everybody , sorry if this isn’t the right sub for this.
Recently on a night out my heel broke. We purchased super glue and stuck it back together, but i accidentally got some glue on my jacket sleeve. It’s a faux leather jacket with wool sleeves (i am assuming since it was second hand) and the superglue is on both materials. Should I just accept it or is there any way to get this out or at least minimise it without damaging the jacket? I’m really hoping for the latter.
Any help is appreciated, thank you

holes & live stitches on cable knit sweater
awhile ago i noticed two separate stitches in this cable knit sweater i have had dropped. no big deal at first, i just laddered back up - but then i realized, i have no idea how these stitches dropped off in the first place. there’s no other adjacent live loops, just one stitch in two separate places of the cable pattern that dropped. and one of the two created a massive hole right at the twist of the cable.
i originally thought the quickest fix would be to pull the live loop to the inside of the sweater and sew it down on the inside with some embroidery floss, but this will be a sort of haphazard fix that still doesn’t help me understand the root of the problem.
any suggestions/insights from experienced cable knitters on what might’ve happened here and what’s the best way to fix it neatly?
pics attached of the two live stitches in question, from both the outside and inside of the sweater

Save my sweater sleeve?
Can this sweater sleeve be saved? I do not knit or crochet. Wondering if there is something I can do myself or if I should take it to a professional. In case it's helpful, the sweater is 100% wool. Thank you so much!

Darning this cotton fitted sheet - possible?
Would love to save this 3 year old sheet that was eaten by my 20 year old washing machine. Any hope for a repair that isnt very noticeable texture wise? Sensitive skin and sensory preferences, so i fear for its fate.
Any tips very welcomed!

Can anything be done??
Hi these are two work shirts that I really like and I would love to find a way to fix them. I’m highly skilled with sewing and mending so I could pretty confidently do anything to fix it, I just don’t even know how to go about it.
They are both very light and delicate fabrics especially the brown one. The hole happened bc i stupidly safety pinned it too tight.
The striped one just split at the shoulder along a stripe bc ig my arms are pretty toned. Any ideas???

This $230 sweater has loose ends
I did not and would never pay $230 for 95% cotton and 5% cashmere, this is thrifted for $6 but I still love it and don’t want the design to unravel!!!
How can I prevent them from unraveling? Will fabric glue stain? They’re not long enough to tie together. Pictured is the underside of the design.

How can I save this tshirt
I thrifted this tshirt which I really liked. It fit pretty well it was just a bit loose around the waist so I wanted to sew some loops on to make a corset. Then I tried it on and it look bad so I tried to remove the loops as gently as possible but I accidentely made a hole. What do I do now? I want to save this but I don't know how.

Please help! Can my pants be saved??
Is there a way to remove a shiny mark/singe on synthetic fabric due to the pant leg briefly touching a hot exhaust pipe?! I know it’s hard to see in the pics but I spotted this mark after wearing my favorite flowy wide-leg pants the other day. I thought it was dirt but when I went to inspect it, I realized that it must’ve gotten slightly singed when I was getting on or off of the back of a friend’s motorcycle. Does anyone have any suggestions?? TIA!
