Any good Chicagoland Indy?

Post image

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good Indy shop near the northwest burbs that I can bring this to for maintenance? Recommended by the dealer to get the timing belt done. Not sure if costs will be much different between a dealer and an independent shop.

Third Generation I got a garage!

I've had this car for probably 12 years now. I always kept it at my parents garage, which meant not driving it nearly as often as I should. I finally have a place with a garage of my own. My girlfriend is already demanding weekly Sunday drives.

Does anyone know of a Type-S styled front bumper for the Aspec?

I’ve seen some people get Type R styled front ends for their regular Civics, I’m curious if anyone makes the same thing to make the aspec front end a bit more aggressive

If you know of a spot please drop a link or at least give me the proper thing to google bc all I can find are factory type S replacements

KTuner worth it? 23 integra aspec tech

I have a 23 aspec tech and just ordered a ktuner 2.0, but I’m having some buyers remorse already. I don’t plan on doing any other mods(I didn’t plan on doing any at all lol), is the stage 1 tune a noticeable enough difference to be worth while without any supporting mods?

Fuel pump clicking at bowser

Hi everyone, I have a 1996 Integra and every time I fill up it clicks every few seconds and shuts off the flow.

To actually pump fuel I need to move the nozzle of the pump nearly all the way out of the fill hole and angle the pump down.

I presume air can't get into the tank and the fuel is just building up in the fill tube, I've done some research and people usually say evap canister.

Just looking for some more insight into my problem/ if other people have had the same problem, and if I should go ahead with the evap canister or if it could be something else.

Thanks in advance.

7k rpm misfire help

94 integer gsr. Obd1 everything but the cylinder head (had an obd2 when I got it). I’ve gone thru about 3 icm at this point and a whole new dizzy. Which always seems to fix it for a short period but once again it starts to die. No matter the gear at abt 7k rpm I start misfiring and one of the pulls even decided to redline. Been trouble shooting this for a while at this point and just keep chasing my tale. Any ideas or advice would be fantastic. If it’s worth anything I do have a 170 degree thermostat rather than the 180 oe. Could this be electrical issue or is it simpler?

Ings front bumper fitment

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hello this might be a Hail Mary but does anyone know if I can fit a ings+1 front bumper with a ja racing +15 mm fender without any crazy bodywork or cutting off the bumper I see a lot of integras with the ings bumper and they all seem to have a ja racing style fender with the fender cuts and I’m assuming they’re all wide fender because I can’t find any jdm front end fenders that have the cuts that aren’t wide. Thanks in advance

Here ye ere ye it hath been too long since I have submitted an update to this soon to be shiny turd.

Honestly don’t really remember the last update, but it’s been coming back together as expected.

The brake tuck is almost done, the body harness is almost done and the engine is almost done. So in all reality it’s almost done 😅

Third Generation How can I find a replacement auto transmission for a 1996-99 Integra

I have my buddies brother selling his Integra and the only main issue is that it has either a blow trans or needs a replacement part I don’t know what part that would be but here my catch. I’m a broke high schooler with 900 and he’s willing to sell me the car for a low price but I’d need to find a automatic transmission for the 4 door I realllllyyy love this car and would it’s sad to see it sit and just rust when I could get it running and restored but I’d need to find one within a low price range I don’t care how many miles the car it self has a rebuilt engine but in total chassis is 316k miles deep but it runs I personally don’t think this car is worth it for me.

Back together

Post image

Since I found myself with way more time to work on the car than I originally planned, I decided to take care of a ton of deferred maintenance.

Aside from putting the whole transmission and engine bay back together, I also replaced:

. Steering rack bellows

. Rear engine mount

. Various transmission and engine seals

. All the heater/coolant hoses (other than the radiator hoses which are newer)

. All the emissions hoses (evap, pcv, etc)

I flushed and filled brake fluid, clutch fluid, coolant, trans fluid, engine oil, and greased all the zerks I could find. No leaks so far! I went over every part of the car with a fine tooth comb since I want this thing as close to mechanically factory perfect as I can make it. Luckily I did all my suspension upgrades last year so it's still pretty fresh.

Gonna take her for a gentle test drive later to make sure all my work holds up, a bit nervous since this was my first time messing with the internals of a transmission. Probably going to do a second MTF drain and fill after a few miles to make sure any debris from working on the trans gets flushed out.

Car feels floaty at highway speeds

Got an alignment on my lowered 93 Integra after replacing all the suspension in the front because I thought it would fix the vague floaty feeling at highway speeds, but it didn’t fix it. Even after getting the alignment it’s still the same. Is this common for lowered Integras?

Crank no start issues on new engine

Hey guys,

Looking for some advice if anyone can help! I've been working on restoring this JDM SIR dc2 for over a year now and finally got the engine installed a couple of weeks ago after practically a full rebuild (you name it and it's probably new). It's a type R b18C using the original SIR loom.

Now, since installing the engine I have not been able to start it. I've worked my way through a fairly long list of items that I've sorted but still can't get it to start. I believe I have it narrowed down to not creating spark.

The following is pretty much all the data I currently have:

  1. I have confirmed fuel delivery, air intake should be good and compression is fine (but possibly a bit low due to new piston rings and cylinder honing etc).

  2. I have checked all grounds and may be missing one but if I am then I absolutely cannot find out where it might be missing from. I followed the manual along with pictures I took as I dismantled the previous engine.

  3. I tested the distributor and all it's components. The ICM, all 3 sensor pickups, the primary and secondary winding, igniter all tested good and it has a new rotor and cap.

  4. New spark plugs and ignition leads (leads tested within spec).

  5. The IACV is unplugged due to the connector not reaching from the SIR loom to the type R intake manifold. The 02 sensor upstream of the cat is also disconnected due to a broken connector that I need to fix, and the knock sensor is disconnected also (waiting on a new one I have ordered).

  6. The check engine light illuminates when the ignition is switched on but turns off briefly before lighting up again. It stays slightly illuminated when cranking.

  7. The secondary wires coming off of the positive and negative battery wiring are cut (I believe they're for the lights or similar, not sure if this might be affecting grounding or something?)

  8. Timing may be off. The timing belt was installed by someone I trust 100% to have it correct, but I haven't confirmed the distributor rotor is in time with the engine although the rotor only fits on the distributor one way, and the distributor only fits into the camshaft one way also.

  9. There is no spark at the plugs when tested.

I will be stripping the distributor completely and rebuilding and testing it again tomorrow but any ideas or things to look at would be helpful. I'll probably try get flash codes and check all fuses and relays and so on next but thought I'd ask here first.
