Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a milestone that genuinely means a lot to me. My name, Dev Kumar Verma, is now listed in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru’s Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure Programme (RVDP) Hall of Fame.

On September 9, 2026, I submitted a report to IISc regarding a web security issue. After receiving an email acknowledging the report and confirming that it was under review, seeing my name listed on the Hall of Fame was a genuinely rewarding moment.

I started exploring web security out of curiosity and gradually became interested in understanding how websites work, identifying potential security issues, documenting findings, and reporting them responsibly.

For me, this experience is about more than recognition. It reinforces the importance of patience, continuous learning, clear communication, and responsible security research.

I would like to sincerely appreciate the IISc security team for their communication and professionalism throughout the process. Responsible disclosure programmes play an important role in encouraging ethical security research, and it's encouraging to see institutions like IISc provide a process through which researchers can report potential issues responsibly.

I'm grateful for this experience and motivated to continue learning, improving my skills, and contributing to a safer digital environment.

I'm still learning and have a long way to go, but this is a milestone I'll remember for a long time.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences with responsible disclosure. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments, and if you're interested in connecting, let's connect on LinkedIn!

What is the placement scenario for IISc Bengaluru's Microelectronics and VLSI Design programme for the 2026 batch?

The 2025 placement data is available online, but what about 2026? Which companies visited, what CTCs were offered, and what were the average, median, and highest packages?

Any verified information or insights from current students would be really helpful!

As the title, I am trying to access several departmental/faculty pages but getting a message that they are under maintenance.

I want to know if there are any other places to study besides the library. Mainly on Sundays and public holidays

Are we not having a Halloween party this year in IISC? Didn't see any mails or Instagram posts about it

Same as above .

I am a Chemical Engineering graduate currently working at Reliance Industries, with around 3 years of work experience. I have a GATE Chemical Engineering score of 600 and am planning to appear for GATE again to improve my score and increase my chances of getting into IISc.

I'm suffering in LAA course from the start, I've scored poor marks in quiz, assignment and mid term . I'm not able to understand the subject or grab the intuition or solve any questions without AI help. I'm dead at this point , i've scored 5 marks less than average in the mid term 1 and the upcoming mid term i see myself doing worse than last time. Should I drop it before 26th. What are realistic chances that I pull it through with a B atleast.

Capital One HR said to many students face that they don't like the arrangement, that they would like to meet the faculty in charge for placements. She also said they won't be coming again.

Why are these bodies not run by actual students? Like IISc has good mess because it is run by students. Why not the same for placement body? Why not some actual skin in the game?

I feel like IISc placements have potential to be much much better if handled by people who actually go through the process.

Really disappointed with this year's placements.

I feel like this placement season was terribly underwhelming. OCCAP portal fucked up, tests were not conducted properly, CTC and shortlisting criterias were not clearly communicated.

Apart from that, Low company participation as well. The Last year summer internship season went much better in my opinion. Is it always like this or just this year?

Just read about that it is the hardest

I've qualified csir net recently and want to pursue my phd at IIsc. As the last date is approaching and I have a bit contemplations regarding this department as I don't know anyone. If you are someone from there can you give me any heads up?

I am an MS(R) student who wants to apply for a PhD in the ECE dept. Since my GATE score is expired, I am applying through CFTI mode. I have some queries regarding ECE PhD admission.

1. Is CFTI applied for by Mtech students from IIT in the winter session?

2. Do I have to wait for the July session to apply through CFTI?

Hi! Wanted to purchase a second hand scooter. If anyone has any contacts or leads please reply and we shall connect. Thank you!

Hey guys! I’m a student from Hyderabad, currently in Bangalore, and I’m planning to visit IISc today after 2 PM. Is there any student who could help me get entry and maybe show me around the campus? Would really appreciate it! 🙌
