When Cole slept with Rheanyra, he broke his sworn oath, fine many knights do that, but what broke the camel's back and led to all the chaos is that Cole goes on to not only betray Rheanyra, but he sleeps with Viserys as well. And when Rheanyra finds out through Alicent, gloves come off, Rheanyra and Alicent become permanent enemies. Alicent conspires with Lord Hightower to get Jason Lannister married to the Sea Snake, so that the greens would have strong allies in the Lannisters and Velaryons when war breaks out. But what the Sea Snake doesnt know is that Alicent had been sleeping with the crabfeeder before Daemon killed him. And all of the deaths that culminate after this are all directly related to Cole's first act of deception, breaking his oath.

He was irritated with her flippant attitude about public perception. I’m paraphrasing but:
‘if I were born male I could bed who I wanted & no one would blink an eye’
‘you’re right…but you were born a woman’
He never shamed her, never called her out of her name, and he protected his promise to her from the moon tea to threatening the tongue of anyone who questioned her sons.
It’s so refreshing to see, because I would expect fathers of that time, especially Kings of princesses, to respond very differently.
For example, I imagine Otto striking Alicent if he caught wind of something like that.
Now obviously he did a lot of things wrong, like not teaching her shit about politics, but he got this part right, I think.
Is he like this in the books as well?

We know from the book, that Daemon was cutting a weirwood tree while waiting for Aemond to come. It is not known if he was just counting days like this or for any other reason. But in the show, this tree showed him vision of the prophecy, which he told Rhaenyra, which reaffirmed her believe in her being the chosen one and fed into her delusion and eventual downfall.
Would show Daemon cut the tree in an act of him cursing Old Gods for playing a cruel joke on him?
What ending scene for Daemon do you envision? Book is more vague on it, but we've saw Daemon (?) drowning in 2x08, so i guess it's gonna be it

Still one of the most memorable endings to a season I’ve seen. The whole Storm’s End sequence was incredible.

The two largest dragons during the Dance, The Queen of All Dragons Vhagar, and the Bronze Fury Vermithor. Vermithor is noted for having extraordinary growth for a dragon his age, making him one of the fastest growing dragons we have seen.
Vhagar is 180 years old, Vermithor is 96 years old

Hola comunidad.

The Princess and the Queen. The Greens and the Blacks. The war began right here, when Alicent donned Oldtown's colors and declared war on anyone who opposed her sons' inheritance.
"Congratulations, step-daughter. What a blessing this is for you..."
EDIT - Just wanna add ONE OF the best scenes. There's a lot of scenes that I like about this show, but this scene right here is my favorite because it's when the show fully transitions into a civil war. (initially waged in the palace halls through rumors and gossip)

I don't think Aemond or Alicent have ever cleaned, fetched water or cooked in their lives. Alicent has probably some experience lighting up candles, but I don't see her doing it. What about cleaning the bedsheets, making the beds, cleaning overall, lighting fires...
Is it all magic like the Wesley's mother in harry potter? if so, she must be more powerful than Melissandre, to be able to do that and still have time to chitchat

Hey everyone! I really hope someone here wants to talk about this with me, because I’m honestly losing my mind—none of the people around me love *House of the Dragon* as much as I do, especially when it comes to the pairing of Daemon and Rhaenyra. I finished the series just a couple of days ago, and I haven’t been this obsessed with a couple in such a long time—I’m a total fan now! I can’t stop rewatching clips; I probably watch about 100 edits a day because their chemistry is just incredible.
What I really want to discuss is how sad I am that they cut the kiss from the eighth episode of the third season. Ever since season two, they’ve had so few moments as a couple—I mean, as a couple, not just as King and Queen—and I really miss that.
I want to see their love, especially knowing what’s coming in season four and how things end for them in the book.
That’s what I want to talk about today. I know how it all ends in the book, and it breaks my heart that Daemon dies thinking Rhaenyra will win, while Rhaenyra, at that same moment, believes he betrayed her. I’m curious: do you think the writers might change this part for the show? Because if it plays out exactly like it did in the book, I’m going to be a total wreck. Again, considering how few moments they’ve had since season two, I’d love to see at least a final goodbye kiss before Daemon dies—something that truly showcases their love. Anyway, what do you think about this storyline in the series? Will they change it, or not? I really hope they can die feeling secure in their love for each other, and that the show gives us at least a glimpse of that bond before the end.

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely think Laenor flies under the radar a little too much when it comes to the situation with Rhaenyra and her children. Because when you really put things into perspective, a huge part of the reason Rhaenyra struggles to have legitimate children is because of HIM. If she had married literally anyone else, there is a very good chance she wouldn't have had this problem in the first place. And I stand ten toes down on that.
What gets me is that, both within the universe of the show and among the audience, people seem to put the entire blame on Rhaenyra, as if Laenor doesn't exist in this equation. People genuinely have the nerve to call her a cheating whore who lied to her husband, as though she was having affair behind his back and deceiving him about it. But wasn't the entire point that they had an arrangement? That Laenor knew the children weren't biologically his and agreed to claim them as his own? So why is Rhaenyra treated as though she single-handedly orchestrated this entire situation?
Honestly, I blame the Velaryons for a lot of this. They willingly put forward a son they KNEW was gay to marry the heir to the Iron Throne. And then everyone wants to act shocked and offended when that marriage doesn't produce biological heirs? Like, what exactly did they expect?
And even putting the question of blame aside, what exactly was Laenor doing to help Rhaenyra secure her position? He was the heir to one of the wealthiest and most powerful houses in Westeros, and the husband of the future queen. He had resources, influence, and a name that carried weight. He could have been doing SO much more to support her politically and help strengthen her claim. Instead, he largely just exists in the background while Rhaenyra takes all the heat for a situation that, in my opinion, involves both of them.
And this is what frustrates me the most: Laenor gets sympathy for being trapped in a marriage that doesn't suit him, which I understand, but Rhaenyra doesn't seem to get the same consideration for being trapped in a marriage that puts the legitimacy of her children and, by extension, her entire claim to the throne at risk. I'm not saying Rhaenyra bears absolutely no responsibility for her decisions. But the way people discuss this situation, you'd think Laenor was an innocent bystander who had absolutely nothing to do with the circumstances that led to it.

when viserys targaryen and alicent hightower(brown hair brown eyes) reproduced how did all of the children turn out Targaryen looking (very blonde) versus when rhaenyra targaryen reproduced with harwin (brown hair brown eyes)why did every single child turn out brown haired with brown eyes? assuming brown hair+eyes is a dominant gene (that was the reason the targaryens frequently reproduced within the family) shouldn’t alicent’s children also have had brown haired features?

spoilers for book and show
Im reading the book right now and thinking how interesting (though depraved and unforgivable) it would have been if blood and cheese had killed both Maegor and Jaehaerys leaving Aegon (the usurper) either No heirs OR only little Jaehaera, who is a girl. Forcing Aegon to name her his heir or at least contend with that eventuality. They are at war, he could die within it and his successor would have to be worked out, how ironic and shitty would everyone feel if it came down again, to a little princess?
To be clear im not the most GOT educated this is the first book im reading and most of my knowledge comes from the shows and reddit lmao but it was an interesting thought i had. It feels like it could have been a lateral move politically. A kinslayer once, what's one more? Probably a bad idea!

So as per that scene where hugh tells his wife that his mother told him he was like her brother sons viserys and daemon . So this means hugh is seara Targaryen son . But some people say his age does not add up
Ulf on the other hand claims to be baelon Targaryens son . Which makes ulf viserys and daemon half brother. But ulf only claims that baelon is his father.
So who do you think hugh and ulf parents are ..
