Im looking for any advice you can give.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I dont know any organ players in my area that I can bounce ideas off of so it feels like Im flying somewhat blind.
This is a track that I made from a friend’s piano recording. I added the bass and drum, but I also decided to add a little organ as well.
I have a general sense of times I prefer the fast and slow speeds, I had to adjust the acceleration a tad for this song. Where I feel very green is 1 knowing when best to hit switch and 2 the bars. I feel like the bars the equivalent of guitar tone, that the bars make up the majority of that good sound and it’s such a deep well that you will spend the rest of your life learning and changing preferences and I have no clue what Im doing there.
Is there any advice you could give? Anything that stands out to you that you would change or things I should focus on improving etc? Thanks.

Rhodes Through a Leslie
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello All! An update to last week’s post: I recently purchased a Leslie HL-722 on Craigslist, and finally had a chance to try it out with my Rhodes Mkii suitcase today. A short medley is in the video.
My first impressions are rather positive.
- On the slow setting, I am able to achieve a rather “chorus-y“ sound. Nice for certain pieces.
- The low end is super fat, which I’m happy with.
- Surprisingly, the high end is super clear, which is one thing I worried about. I think having the suitcase model with EQ on the pre-amp helps, and the side of my Leslie cabinet has additional EQ settings which I’ve used to brighten up the sound.
- I wish that the acceleration was a little slower! I want that classic spin up effect. However, the fast acceleration has its strengths, mainly in that I can toggle quickly in and out of the two settings if two adjacent sections in a progression warrant it.
Sorry to infiltrate the sacred Hammond Reddit with an EP. Hopefully the rotor makes up for it!

Advice wanted - “crackling” noise from Leslie 122
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This has been more of a recent development. Connected to a Hammond A-100, and the volume of the crackling is affected by the expression pedal and volume switch on the organ. Tubes were checked recently and they were working, and those that weren’t were swapped for brand new ones that did. It starts and stops, and I can play freely of this noise for a long time, but it doesn’t start after I do anything specific. Tends to happen after it’s been on for a few minutes, though. Any advice or help would be much appreciated!

XL125 pedal repair
Hello everybody! I just got my hands on an XL125 organ which has been fun so far. It seems to be in mostly working order, though I don't know what all the buttons and switches do yet. The one thing the is obviously broken is the pedal is not attached. Would that explain what the volume is stuck so loud? As far as fixing it goes I imagine I just reattach the pedal's wires to the wires coming out of the organ, but I want to make sure the pedal is in working order so I don't break anything. Does anyone know what resistance range the pedal is supposed to have?

Interesting Leslie Pickup + Story
Hello all, new to this sub. I picked this Leslie up today for $250. It’s an HL-722, which I’ve read is amongst the less (least?) desirable models. That said, it’s in very good condition, so it seemed like a worthy pickup.
You’ll note an interesting name in the second photo. I don’t know if Metallica was particularly known for their use of a Hammond, but it would be pretty neat if this was once in their hands. There’s a second sticker from a repair shop in Miami, which further corroborates the story of the bar code (I believe Jason lives in Florida).
Never though my Rhodes Suitcase would look small, but, this Leslie is huge. Yes, the Rhodes + Leslie is the plan, but I‘ll need some extra gear first. It will either sound really great, or really NOT great.
I’d like to hear some thoughts, worth the pickup?

Hammond M3 Loud Hum Troubleshooting
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just picked up this Hammond M3 for free from someone. It has started up multiple times without this sound but now it only starts up sporadically without the loud hum. I have to turn it off when the hum starts because I live in an apartment building. I added oil to the tonewheel generator cups but I can't figure out how to stop this sound. The expression pedal is at 0% and all drawbars are pushed in all the way. Please help!

Hammond L100 series 1/4" output
Hello :)
I have a 1967 Hammond L122 and I'm wondering how I can add a 1/4 inch output so I can run it though a guitar amplifier like Jon Lord in the 70s.

B3 refurbish
My dad has an I’m assuming late 60’s B3 and Leslie model 815. Both have been just sitting and probably have not been powered on since the mid 90’s.
I would love to get them up and running, but I’m sure they would need a good once over prior to powering on.
I have some knowledge of electronics, so is this something that I could do, or best left in the hands of a professional?

RT3 to PR40 Connector Help
Hi everyone, new member here. I have an RT3 that I'm trying to connect to a newly acquired PR40 cabinet. I'd like help validating the pin number ordering positions if possible.
When looking straight on at the female adapter and the little dot between the connectors... Which numbering would the connectors be on either side of the dot? When plugging into the male ends on the cabinet, those two on either side of the dot only fit into the thickest male pins. These thick pins should be #3 & #4 (the blue and gray AC power wires).
However, I thought the dot represented the "top", which would have put the #1 pin immediately to the left, then proceed counterclockwise around. Seems like my thinking was incorrect, and the 3 & 4 pins straddle the dot? Meaning I'm backward and need to re-solder. Any clarification or diagrams would help! Thank you.
Edit: Resolved. The wiring and pin positions in the 6 pin female adapter were correct. The 1 & 6 sockets straddling the raised dot did indeed line up with the two larger pins on the tone cabinet. That positioning worked, and it's all running smooth. Appreciate the responses, I was just nervous about those larger pins feeling like they needed to carry AC power.
