❓ Advice Needed Went black & hate it.

I made a post yesterday asking if I should go black or blonde (ended up deleting it) & I went black last night ( previous color posted for reference) & am regretting it so badly as I did it when I was on an emotional high I’ve always wanted to be completely blonde so idk why I did this. Now idk what it will take to get me blonde. I know all the comments said not to do it but I used a Demi-permanent hair dye by Madison reed so I guess it should be easier to get out. I feel this look is very heavy & washing me out & I honestly hate it. How can I get this out? ASAP.

help!

i’ve been dyeing my hair for years, but i can never seem to nail my dream color (pictured). would anyone know what dye or dye combo is able to achieve this, or at least get similar results? i know it won’t be the same as salon vibrancy, but a gal is not about to drop a hundred bucks at a salon if i can make the perfect potion at home lol. i want that pop of orange and red, but not enough that its neon, ya know?

edit: like i said, i’ve been dyeing my hair for years at home. i should preface that i’ve tried wella, ion, a million different semi-permanents like manic panic, iroiro, arctic fox, good dye young, some indie brands, and so on. i’m really just looking for dye combos :) i’ve been dyeing my hair since i was 14 (i’m 26 now), so i’m no stranger to brands or how to color my hair! i’m sure there’s a bunch of new indie brands that i haven’t explored, though. there might be a combo i’ve just missed and someone has it all figured out :)) i also know it depends on my hair level/color i have now. it’s just a washed out auburn/brown that was previously lightened/processed lol

Okay so disclaimer my makeup is kind of different in all three! There’s quite a bit of time taken between the 3 photos. The light brown is most recent but it feels boring. Should I go back to dark purple or black? Also I am considering trying a dark auburn copper ish colour. Opinions?

Recently went from light brown to bleached blonde (Quarter life crisis?) I actually had this hair colour naturally when I was much younger. So far I’m liking it, but curious if you guys think any other colour would work nicely?

❓ Advice Needed How do I achieve this color and neutralize the orange?

A half and a year ago I bleached my hair with a product that had camomile and hydrogen peroxide on it (yeah, dumb me) my hair went orange, so I dyed my hair on top of it but it went back to orange everytime, the last one I tried was 5.1, it went literally black I had to wash it a lot of times, it was a nice brunette color but on some lights it was too dark. Now months later I have this situation in my hair, my objective is the reference photo (I don't want it warm toned tho), can I achieve this dying it at home? In the sun my hair has a lot of orange

Photo 1 shows my natural hair color (brown), and photo 2 shows the color I would like to achieve (generated by AI). I was thinking of using the Solaïa tone-on-tone hair color in shade 5.4 (light coppery brown) with a 4% developer. What do you think? Is this the right choice?

❓ Advice Needed Possible?

Okay! Would it even be possible to get my hair (#1) to this (#2)? I’ve only ever dyed my hair at home and I never know what I’m doing, I’d definitely go to a professional to get it done, but how disappointed would I be during the process? I can imagine I wouldn’t be able to keep as much length with multiple rounds of bleach and the damage I already have, would it be best to wait until the length I’m keen on keeping is all virgin?

❓ Advice Needed Honey brown over blonde highlights

Thumbnail

had a full head of blonde highlights like basically blonde. had a lot of root growth and thinness so decided to go brown. went to a salon they did “ honey brown” . my hair came out a nice brown but copper in random spots. the more I was the better it got and my blond highlights are coming back either very blonde or warm and dark. the brown has also turned into a tinge of copper.

i want either to expose more of the blonde underneath or get rid of the warm copper patches and tinge or both lol. tips

You can also see how different it looks in difffeent lighting

❓ Advice Needed Help formulating this brunette

• Upvotes

Hi! I’ve been colouring my own hair for around 15 years, but most of my experience is with formulating blondes, so I’d love some advice on achieving this brunette shade.

To me, it looks like a muted level 6–7 mocha brown with soft beige undertones.

My hair was previously toned with Redken Shades EQ 8GG and 7N.

anyone familiar with Dia Light have any shade or mixing ratio recommendations?
Thanks! ❤️

I want to take my hair (left pic current, it’s a level 5 brown with partial balayage) auburn, and knowing red is so hard to maintain I’m hoping for some advice for doing this at home. The pics on the right is the shade I’d like it to be.

Any advice for color mixes and developer as well as toning upkeep welcome!

❓ Advice Needed Black hair dye removal. Losing my hair anyway.

So I've been losing my hair relatively consistently over the past few years. (Growing up I always had really gorgeous thick dark curly hair that I would bleach/dye on and off) I am hitting about 50% hair left now. It still looks relatively normal except for the roots which you can definitely tell i'm balding. I Kept from dying, bleaching and straightening it for the last 5 or so years while I was making an attempt to get some of it back. It's androgenic alopecia and it's not coming back. Eventually gave in and went blonde. Loved it. (Can't use minoxidil, housemate has too many cats. Already taking spironolactone for hirsutism so I can't imagine a hair growth medication will help me anyway) I dyed it black about 2 months ago now, hoping that clearing up some greys and bringing out my old extensions would be a better long term solution. Unfortunately, my hair is too thin for the extensions to do their job and just look ridiculous now. What I really want is to go blonde again. i have a blonde hair topper that I love and covers my pathetic roots. I felt prettier and more feminine blonde and just want it back. So to the question. Am I better off trying to strip some of the black out of my hair before bleaching or just go in with the bleach and take my time getting it back to blonde. I definitely can't afford the salon so whatever I choose it's gonna be a home job. I'm losing my hair anyway so I just don't really care anymore. I just want to feel pretty for a little bit until I lose my hair for good.

🧴 Product Question UV hair dye, has anyone tested loads of swatches with a uv torch?

• Upvotes

Hey folks, has anyone done a big research and display of uv reactive hair dye? I'd love to see what the whole Adore range looks like under uv, especially coz not all colours will be listed as uv reactive. Crazy colour too.

I follow aka aislinn on YT who does a lot of cool stuff but I'd also just love to see someone put a UV torch over the swatch range of a few different brands.

Thanks for any leads! I dye my hair with 140 neon pink adore, but have put a load of different pinks on my hair. I see people talking about IroIro but I don't know where to find it in Germany.

Also, any thoughts about using hair food mask to stretch out dye?

❓ Advice Needed how to remove arctic fox red & black?

hiii, hoping this is not an impossible task that I am going to attempt!! last summer I dyed my hair red twice with loreal hicolor hilights red, and after it faded, my hair was left almost blonde (im a natural ginger) but I ended up doing a red and black split dye with arctic fox Transylvania and Poison. I really want to use the blonde loreal hilights over my hair as I think it would make my hair a nice colored blonde since the red one lightened my hair so much on its own. any suggestions on how to best remove the arctic fox dye so I can attempt this? I dyed it about 2 months ago, and its faded quite a bit, the black side is more a dark brown with some light brown almost blonde spots but the red is still holding on minus some parts that are very light pink. I've read a few threads with suggestions, but none that have two different colors like me. multiple products needed maybe?? really trying to avoid bleach if possible. thank you if anyone can help me! <3

I wanna dye my hair full black again since i feel ugly with my overgrown roots. Tho i want to make it darker than my natural (black brownish) hair. I heard adding blue dye then black makes it darker but idk if thats true.

I also used liese hair box dye in milktea brown for my brown hair.
