❓ Advice Needed I asked for medium brown, im almost black- what to do?

I was about level 7 blonde, I wanted to go a bit darker. I asked for medium brown, I attached the picture. I think I’m almost black and it looks horrible guys.

I went back to the salon and he just said it’ll get lighter within the next few weeks. Bro Halloween is this weekend, I can’t be chopped. He warned me not to do anything like redye it and told me I shouldn’t wash it more to make it fade, just do my normal routine.

What can I do to lighten it? Do I profusely wash it the next few days? This is darker than my natural hair, it looks so bad on me. Please help

❓ Advice Needed All over brown hair color

I have naturally black hair and I need a color refresh (cover some greys), is it possible to color my hair dark brown over natural black? I expect it’ll pretty much look black but I want more of a brown to it. Or do I have to get balayage? I’ve had balayage in the past to get my hair brown and it’s just too much maintenance but I prefer brown hair on me, without redness.

❓ Advice Needed Black hair dye

hey everyone, i have been box dying my hair black for 6-7 years now. my hair is still black, but fades quite quick and after a few washes u can see red/ purple tint. i use blue black permanent dye. i see people say to use demi/semi permanent instead of using permanent every time, but the last time i tried it it made my hair all waxy and had to wash it ten times to make it feel normal again. do they all make ur hair feel weird or was it just the one i used? and wont it end up looking weird using semi permanent because my roots are blonde? i hope this makes sense 😭

I had a full head of blonde highlights and wanted to tone them down a bit. well the brown they did has now become very red/ copper after alot of washes and some blonde is coming through. I don’t mind the blonde if I can somehow bring all of them back? if not then I want to remove the red tone but how??

i really like how this dye looks right after, but it fades sooo fast at least for me :( i used to use the arctic fox purple af, but i feel like this deadly nightshade is like warmer? any specific product recommendations that don’t fade super fast? i’m okay with having to mix multiple colors, i just really like this specific shade but hate having to constantly buy more dye! :) thank you

❓ Advice Needed Help formulating this brunette

Hi! I’ve been colouring my own hair for around 15 years, but most of my experience is with formulating blondes, so I’d love some advice on achieving this brunette shade.

To me, it looks like a muted level 6–7 mocha brown with soft beige undertones.

My hair was previously toned with Redken Shades EQ 8GG and 7N.

anyone familiar with Dia Light have any shade or mixing ratio recommendations?
Thanks! ❤️

Okay so disclaimer my makeup is kind of different in all three! There’s quite a bit of time taken between the 3 photos. The light brown is most recent but it feels boring. Should I go back to dark purple or black? Also I am considering trying a dark auburn copper ish colour. Opinions?

❓ Advice Needed How do I achieve this color and neutralize the orange?

A half and a year ago I bleached my hair with a product that had camomile and hydrogen peroxide on it (yeah, dumb me) my hair went orange, so I dyed my hair on top of it but it went back to orange everytime, the last one I tried was 5.1, it went literally black I had to wash it a lot of times, it was a nice brunette color but on some lights it was too dark. Now months later I have this situation in my hair, my objective is the reference photo (I don't want it warm toned tho), can I achieve this dying it at home? In the sun my hair has a lot of orange

help!

i’ve been dyeing my hair for years, but i can never seem to nail my dream color (pictured). would anyone know what dye or dye combo is able to achieve this, or at least get similar results? i know it won’t be the same as salon vibrancy, but a gal is not about to drop a hundred bucks at a salon if i can make the perfect potion at home lol. i want that pop of orange and red, but not enough that its neon, ya know?

edit: like i said, i’ve been dyeing my hair for years at home. i should preface that i’ve tried wella, ion, a million different semi-permanents like manic panic, iroiro, arctic fox, good dye young, some indie brands, and so on. i’m really just looking for dye combos :) i’ve been dyeing my hair since i was 14 (i’m 26 now), so i’m no stranger to brands or how to color my hair! i’m sure there’s a bunch of new indie brands that i haven’t explored, though. there might be a combo i’ve just missed and someone has it all figured out :)) i also know it depends on my hair level/color i have now. it’s just a washed out auburn/brown that was previously lightened/processed lol

❓ Advice Needed Went black & hate it.

I made a post yesterday asking if I should go black or blonde (ended up deleting it) & I went black last night ( previous color posted for reference) & am regretting it so badly as I did it when I was on an emotional high I’ve always wanted to be completely blonde so idk why I did this. Now idk what it will take to get me blonde. I know all the comments said not to do it but I used a Demi-permanent hair dye by Madison reed so I guess it should be easier to get out. I feel this look is very heavy & washing me out & I honestly hate it. How can I get this out? ASAP.

Photo 1 shows my natural hair color (brown), and photo 2 shows the color I would like to achieve (generated by AI). I was thinking of using the Solaïa tone-on-tone hair color in shade 5.4 (light coppery brown) with a 4% developer. What do you think? Is this the right choice?

❓ Advice Needed What can I dye over this?

I'm looking for suggestions on what to color my hair next, as well as brands to use.

I want to avoid anymore lightening if possible, if I have to lighten or tone, the most minimal I can get away with.

I first lightened it with the Good Dye Young lightening kit June of last year, and dyed it with 4 or 5 different shades of green from Pulp Riot. In March this year, I lightened only the roots and redyed it. Haven't touched it since.

It's carrying shades of brassy yellow to light blonde, and very darker blonde roots. Some very light green tinge in some strends.

I am looking into any colors that will go over this well, without lightening/bleaching it more then I have to (preferably not at all). I am willing to lighten my roots a little bit if need be. I love doing multiple colors or shades of color, and not just one single shade. Im open to most colors.

But I need some help, I am so sick and tired of looking at my hair, and don't wanna try to dye my hair and destroy it

❓ Advice Needed I used the got2b pink semi-permanent hair dye the one advertised to wash out in up to 15 washes and I miss my natural brown

I recently dyed my naturally dark brown, completely virgin hair with got2b pink semi-permanent dye (the one that says it lasts up to 15 washes). It turned out a raspberry/reddish brown, but I’m already missing my natural color.
Has anyone used this on unbleached brunette hair? How many washes did it take to fade, and did your original brown come back completely? I’m especially worried about lingering red or pink tones.
I’d love to hear your experiences!

❓ Advice Needed Possible?

Okay! Would it even be possible to get my hair (#1) to this (#2)? I’ve only ever dyed my hair at home and I never know what I’m doing, I’d definitely go to a professional to get it done, but how disappointed would I be during the process? I can imagine I wouldn’t be able to keep as much length with multiple rounds of bleach and the damage I already have, would it be best to wait until the length I’m keen on keeping is all virgin?

❓ Advice Needed Making black more natural?

hey, I currently have dark blue hair but when it fades I’m going to go black (assuming I wouldn’t be able to go back to brown?) but I want to avoid it looking super unnaturally jet black. is there something I can mix with black that would make it less intense? or is there a way to go back to brown even with faded blue hair?

❓ Advice Needed Honey brown over blonde highlights

Thumbnail

had a full head of blonde highlights like basically blonde. had a lot of root growth and thinness so decided to go brown. went to a salon they did “ honey brown” . my hair came out a nice brown but copper in random spots. the more I was the better it got and my blond highlights are coming back either very blonde or warm and dark. the brown has also turned into a tinge of copper.

i want either to expose more of the blonde underneath or get rid of the warm copper patches and tinge or both lol. tips

You can also see how different it looks in difffeent lighting

❓ Advice Needed help me get to pure white hair

Post image
1 Upvotes

heres a brief history of my hair for some context:

2 weeks ago i had my hair bleached to lvl 9 then used purple shampoo to get it to platinum blond but i wasnt fully happy with it because i could still see a tiny bit of yellow so i searched online and found a comment on reddit saying that you should get redken shades EQ 10VV (lavender ice) and 10P (ivory pearl) mix them with the redken processor (1 to 1 ratio) so 2oz toners and 2oz processor which i did do and left it on my hair for 20 mins like instructed. unfortunately my hair turned into a really deep purple/lavender color and not white.

after that i used color remover cuz i didnt want to wait for the purple to fade naturally and got all the purple out of my hair. at this point my hair was back to a lvl 9 but i wanted it to be a level 10 so its easier for me to get it to white. So i bleached it again and the hair in the photo is what it looks like now after the bleach.

where do i go from here? what do you think i did wrong the first time? could it be that i had purple shampoo toned into my hair and adding the redken shades overtone it to purple instead of white? i still have some of the redken to use should go for it again or am i gonna get the same result again? pls help me....

❓ Advice Needed Tips on avoiding roots when bleaching?

I’m bleaching my hair this week and I want to avoid my roots and just have a lived in look. I have shorter hair (near mullet) and feel confident about doing the longer parts on the top of my head but idk how to go about having a consistent root length on the sides and back. Any tips?
