Baguhan pa ako. Mga 1month pa lang nag ddrive (manual) at medyo ok na naman. Nakakapag drive na sa mga provincial roads na 60-90kph ang takbo at sa mga masisikip na kalsada. Ang isang malaking issue ko lang ay nalalate yung reaction ko sa brake kapag walang brake lights yung sinusundan ko. Dalawang beses na muntik na ako nag full stop kasi di ko napansin na nag slowdown na pala yung sinusundan ko. Una sa pa-kurbada na 20-30kph lang yung takbo tapos yung isa nasa 50kph. Malayo naman pagitan ko pero isang brake light lang gumagana nung delivery truck. Kulay orange pa kaya ang lapit ko na nung nagsimula akong mag brake. Ano po diskarte sa mga ganito? Salamat.

Dati naexperienced ko yung patrol ng nlex, tinataboy talaga yung mababagal like may speaker at tumtutok sa mababagal sa inner lane.

Naisip ko paano kung may emergency, ambulansya, at may nakaharang sa dadaanan.

I’ve noticed that some buses and trucks on NLEX are using the inner lanes, and what makes it even more concerning is that some of them are speeding.

I understand that larger vehicles need to overtake slower traffic sometimes, but seeing heavy vehicles speeding on the inner lanes can be genuinely scary. Bumababad pa sila and nang-iilaw at times.

I’m curious about the actual rules on NLEX. I believe buses and trucks should stay at lanes 3 and 4 or hindi ba? If they’re allowed to use inner lanes, under what circumstances?

I’m not trying to generalize all bus and truck drivers, but I think lane discipline and speed limits are especially important for heavy vehicles because of their size and stopping distance. Minsan palipat lipat pa sila ng lane at high speed.

For those who regularly drive on NLEX, have you noticed this too? Is this actually allowed under the current traffic rules, or is it a case of drivers disregarding lane restrictions?

Hello po, gusto ko lang po sana makuha ang opinyon o payo ninyo rito.

Yung motor po ng kapitbahay ko ay yung kulay dilaw sa picture (In-edit ko lang po yung kulay ng motor at gate para sa privacy). Bahay po namin ung stainless na gate. Hindi naman po ako galit o gustong makipag-away, pero nakaharang po kasi yung motor kaya hindi ako nakalabas madaling-araw nung isang araw.

Kaso lang, ayoko ring mag-doorbell o kumatok nang ganoong oras kasi hindi naman ako confrontational na tao at ayokong makaabala ng tulog ng iba. Medyo masikip din kasi yung kalye namin at may nakaparadang sasakyan pa sa kabilang tapat, kaya mahirap talaga san lulugar na.

lexus or mustang alin mas maganda as first car as a 17 year old student? ill use it daily and mas marami siguro pipili ng lexus since its reliable and fuel efficient 🤣. My girlfriend’s younger sister is applying for a scholarship. One of the requirements is “Certificate of registration of vehicles”. Since they don’t really own any vehicle, we asked the coordinator if we could just ignore that requirement. Sabi niya hingi daw kami ng “Certificate of no vehicle” sa LTO. May ganun ba talagang certification? We asked around and walang may alam sa ganung certification eh.

Currently considering Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray (may nakita akong review na okay naman sa matte motorcycles) or Guapo Matte Finish Protectant (but I’m kinda skeptical din since it cheap).

Hi mga ka gulong and/or experienced mechanics here. Pa help naman diagnose for other possible issues.

Quick question lang sa mga expert dito at may kaalaman. Sana mabahagian po. May micro play ang menor or RPM ng vios ko, ramdam ko din kasi minsan bitin sa ahon o may hesitation siya sa arangkada. Wala yung torque ng first gear minsan. Tsaka pag naka on AUX Fan - nasa 900 RPM (May power ako sa torque pag arangkada @ 900 RPM). While pag off AC or AUX Fan bumababa ang RPM to 600 tas may micro movement na tataas bababa(hindi mapapansin unless tignan talaga). Pansin ko din pag ka naka off ang AC ko, tas nag bukas ang Aux Fan - hindi tumataas ang rpm to 900. Stable at 600 lang talaga pag off ang AC.

Throttle Relearn kaya, o oxygen? Ano kaya possible na cause pa para ma check? o this is normal na po? Para matanggal na yung kati mag paayos 😆

Ayun haha so before iniiwasan ko mag drive at night kasi darkest shade ung car ko and mag eye grade is 400 both eyes. Kinakaya ko naman kaso struggle talaga. Long story short nagpa clear tint ako na nano ceramic 4800. Ang saya pero grabe yung silaw di ko inexpect 😂 ngayon parang iiwasan ko na ata mag drive sa araw haha

Ganito ba talaga? Coming rin kasi ako sa darkest shade na tint ung 5% lang na visibility pag tiningnan mo ung nasa loob ng car. Naninibago lng talaga siguro or eto talaga ung struggle sa clear tint? Haha

May ma recommend ba kayo mga shops or persons na nag reupholster ng steering wheel? Balak ko sana palitan yung stock leather ng Fortuner steering wheel ng Alcantara (suede) or perforated leather.

Current mileage: 60,000 km

Pasumpong sumpong(intermittent): low acceleration or low power

Already changed fuel pump assembly

AC system was checked and is Ok

Throttle body, solenoid valves, and MAF sensor were cleaned

Spark plugs were replaced; ignition coils were checked

Preventive maintenance on point

CVT fluid changed at 40,000 mileage

Still problem exists

Scenario: drove from Porac to Candaba

1. Porac to Mega Dike, no problem (18 km 20-30 mins).

2. After exiting mega dike low power was encountered.

3. Changed from eco mode to sports mode to compensate for the low power, but the low power was still obvious; RPM needs to rev to 3000 before acceleration needs to kick in

4. Due to high RPM, ECT, and CVT temp also increased, but the cooling system managed to cool them

5. After reaching Candaba, the car was rested for around 10 mins and then drove again going to Porac; engine and CVT still warm around 90 degrees

6. At the start of the drive, low power was observed, but after 10-20 minutes of driving, it returned to normal

7. Changed mode from normal to eco mode and it's ok: Low power was not observed for the rest of the drive

Another scenario My garage has a slight slope, at normal my car can reverse to it without any problem.

But when low power was observed, RPM only reaches 1400 and the car cannot reverse up the slope.

Sana magkaroon ng batas laban sa malpractice ng mga mekaniko dito sa Pilipinas. Kung hindi nila naayos ang sasakyan o mas lalo pa itong nasira dahil sa kapabayaan nila, sana hindi na sila puwedeng maningil. Kung may pananagutan ang mga doktor sa medical malpractice, dapat ganoon din sa mga mekaniko.

Hi guys! Need some advice, especially sa mga Fortuner owners or mechanics dito.
I have a 2017 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 Diesel Automatic (4x2) na nabili ko secondhand around 6 months ago.
When I first got it, okay naman yung engine sound niya. Wala akong napapansing unusual noise.
Recently, dinala ko siya sa isang automotive shop sa province namin for EGR cleaning. Sabi nila, package na raw yung EGR, intake manifold, and turbo cleaning, so I agreed.
Here’s where things started:
After the cleaning, napansin ko na may tumutulong diesel kapag ginagamit yung sasakyan. Binalik ko sa shop, and according to them, may hindi lang daw nahigpitan na part. Naayos naman nila, and wala nang diesel leak afterward.
Since then, nagagamit ko naman yung Fortuner without any major issues.
For peace of mind, pinacheck ko rin siya sa MechanicGo and CarCrew sa Makati. According to both shops:
Wala namang check engine light.
Okay naman daw yung engine based sa inspection nila.
Tinest drive at hinataw-hataw din nila to check the turbo, and according to them, okay naman ang performance.
Wala naman silang nakitang obvious problem.
Pero ito yung concern ko:
As the owner na araw-araw gumagamit, parang napansin ko na mas umingay yung engine after the cleaning compared sa tunog niya before.
May naririnig akong parang malakas na hangin or electric fan na umiikot (parang elisi), especially kapag umaandar at nag-aaccelerate.
Kapag naka-park or neutral naman, wala or sobrang hina lang nung sound. Mas noticeable talaga siya kapag driving.
For additional context:
Recently changed na rin yung ATF.
Napalitan na rin yung belt, although aftermarket yung ginamit.
Wala namang noticeable loss of power.
Wala ring check engine light.

Questions ko lang:
Normal lang ba na mas maging noticeable yung engine/turbo sound after EGR, manifold, and turbo cleaning?

Possible kaya na may hindi naibalik or nahigpitan properly, like turbo hoses, clamps, or intake connections?

Possible din ba na related sa aftermarket belt yung sound, kahit mostly during driving ko lang naririnig?
May naka-experience na ba ng similar issue sa Fortuner 2.4 diesel?

May marerecommend ba kayong trusted shop or diesel/turbo specialist around Metro Manila na magaling magdiagnose ng ganitong issue?

Hindi ko rin sure kung mas naging sensitive lang ako sa engine sound after nung incident, or may actual issue talaga na hindi pa nadedetect.
Ayoko rin sana magpapalit ng parts nang hindi sure kung ano talaga yung cause.

There’s this growling noise coming from my 2016 Honda City. Is my CVT transmission cooked? 😭

When we drained and refilled the CVT fluid, we found metal flakes in the old fluid. The car still drives smoothly, though. No delays, no jerking, just the noise.

What should I expect going forward? Is my CVT likely to fail soon, or is there still a chance it’ll be okay? Has anyone experienced something similar with their Honda City?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! 🙏
