I got my alexandrite back from gia. Trying to figure out if I should keep it or sell. What would be a realistic value if I were to sell it now vs keeping it for longer

term investment

Wanted to share this one because of how differently it photographs with a slight change in angle. Some shots catch strong purple and pink, while others show more turquoise and pale blue.

It’s appraisal states this specimen is:

A Madagascar rainbow moonstone with a white body colour, rainbow adularescence, eye-clean clarity, and a very good cut. Its approximate weight is 13.55 ct, measuring 18.85 × 12.40 × 7.80 mm.

I like how the elongated cushion shape frames the shifting colours. Included several angles so you can see the differences across the stone. Absolutely wonderful piece of this ever expansive planet.

Anyone else here collect faceted moonstones? If you do, what do you think this would be worth?

Has anyone got experience sending loose gems to Chinese jewellers? I have had a great experience with Tianyu jewellers, but this stone is currently in Thailand and I was wondering if it’s risky sending it from Thailand to China. I only bought the sapphire for 200usd so it’s not particularly expensive.

Do you guys have any idea of the stones in this set of jewelry I got its hallmarked with JCR 10k looking it up I was thinking maybe tanzanite but im very far from an expert. I purchased off FB Marketplace already set onto a sterling silver ring. This video was provided by the seller prior to it’s setting. I purchased the ring for $700AUD and have had it professionally unset and stone polished for $375AUD as it had some dents.

Step-cut bicolour 4.04ct (0.809g) watermelon tourmaline Afghanistan Origin. L 14.46mm x W 6.04mm depth 4.98mm diagonal 14.68mm. Minimal/no inclusions from my eye. No papers.

Can someone please educate me and explain me what the dark lines are that cross each other to form an X? They stay in exactly the same place, remain the same colour, do not change in brightness and do not disappear/reappear. They do, however, become brownish reddish orange near the top of the cabochon. Are these mineral inclusions? Internal fractures? Something else?

Green stone with clear/white in parts. Necklace has brass findings. Perhaps vintage? Trying to decide whether to keep it intact or break it up for the beads. Thank you.

Whatever this stone is, it exhibits fairly strong color-change, going from a deep purplish pink in indirect natural/high-temp light to a pale yellow or almost clear color under warm light (though it is difficult to capture properly on camera). Under direct bright sunlight, it is a padparacha/titanium sapphire pink with very slight hints of orange, and it doesn't exhibit any visible reaction under near-UV. It is almost surely a synthetic stone, as it, and the piece it came in, were bought quite cheaply back in the day at a place that sold costume jewelry (setting is .875 "zolotnik" silver).

To my understanding, it was common practice at the time for both rejected boules and finished crystal rods that were no longer of any experimental use for laser research laboratories in the USSR to be turned over to jewelers for processing into gemstones. As such, it is not impossible for this gem to be of some hitherto undocumented or extremely niche variety, though I am hoping you guys can come through and identify it.
