It might be because I haven't studied the original material enough, but I don't recall anywhere where the question is answered. Cite your answer, if possible, I'd love to touch up.

Why can some people do alchemy and some not? I remember that at certain points it is implied that anyone could do it by studying and understanding the work of tectonic plates and understanding physics and chemistry to "nudge" already feasible reactions into being.

However, we also know what Ed did at the end of Brotherhood, which cost him permanent access to transmutation.

So, is it an inherited ability or not? Can anyone learn it or is it locked behind a wall of a certain predisposition? Is Ed specifically banned from commiting/initiating transmutations as a consequence of his choice? Or is his inherited ability taken away?

Also, an additional tidbit: if certain people understand the science but can't initiate transmutations, does drawing a correct and detailed matrix allow an alchemist to activate it without completely understanding what it does?

Season 1 ep 9 when Al is questioning his whole existence. I know it’s a hospital and ed has the same wrapping. But idk. I’m on like my 15 th watch and I wonder if envy is pulling another trigger

Why didn't Al just carve The Alchemy Runes into his Palms?

So I just started watching FMAB (so good). I'm halfway through the first season, and I can't help but notice some similarities between Chuuya Nakahara from BSD and Edward Elric!

1. theyre both short, and teased for being short
2. some of the most powerful in their universe, specifically, for their age, they are pretty powerful
3. 'artificially created', Edwards arm and leg, Chuuya being turned into a weapon (project Arahabaki)
4. Human weapons of respective organizations
5. fiery personality, super aggressive (but its endearing)
6. good hearted
7. long hair

i can't think of anything else, but I just found it pretty funny.

just started a new channel where I'm going to be doing anime/video game covers in a little heavier of a style. This is my first one!

I'm starting from zero, so if you'd enjoyed and wanted to follow, I'd really appreciate it.

First - I haven’t really watched the series 100 times, but I do start it every year on 10/3 and am finishing it Today…

My silly observation:
Let’s say you are a traveling merchant coming into Amestris from Xing during the eclipse.

You just got done making your way through the desert, your hungry, your thirsty, and you start to see Amestris in the distance.

All of a sudden, you see the light of a country wide transmutation circle start to glow… then you see these black hands rise up from the earth…

Then the freakin sky opens up!!!

At this point you are about 30 yards away from the Border from the country witnessing all this.

Holy shit! Of that was me, I’d be turning around and running as fast and far as I can. What a horrible thing to witness 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had such a good time cosplaying Olivier this weekend at MCM Comic Con! This was my second ever attempt at a lace-front wig after not doing so well on my first go and I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Just letting everyone know. I’m sure it’s been said both sets available for purchase crunchyroll. Rip uploaded

We had been planning on getting these for the last 6 years and finally got them done! So happy with how they turned out🖤

When I first got into the series I kind of initially assumed that being inside a philosopher's stone was kind of like a fire and brimstone hell. But now I realize that the series never really states what kind of pain or torment that the souls inside a philosopher's stone experience.

Later on we're clued in that it's probably something more emotional and abstract, but its really only on a rewatch have I kind of given it more thought.

The way the souls behave on Envy's body probably gives the most insight. Once your in a philosopher's stone there isn't any kind of rest, or any boundaries between individuals, you don't have your skin or skull. The souls themselves seem desperate to be born again, we see bodies or faces forming, only for those bodies to be ruptured as more heads emerge trying to climb atop each other and take every scrap of space they can.

This behavior seems to occur even in the abstract space of the stone intense.

At the same time though, in spite of the sheer amount of unfiltered noise and stimulation, the souls also seem to experience intense hunger, deprivation and isolation.

The most common noise they make is crying out for comfort, warmth or their loved ones. We see the baby emerge from Envy to grip Marcoh, Ed is able to pick out twice a girl calling for her brother. When Envy grabs Ed, one of them even says to join them.

The Mannequins in central immediately call the first man they see 'papa' while also being driven by an insatiable hunger for flesh(To varying degrees, hunger centered on human bodies, seem to be a common theme shared by most of the homunculi). Father, Pride, Gluttony and Envy are all straight up man eaters. Greed is Greed and even Lust herself seems to have a thing for spilling human blood. Only Wrath and Sloth seem to have tamer vices.

Thoughts or opinions? I want know what anyone else thinks?

For me.
First would be Sheska. She seems really sweet, and helps her mother.
Last would be Lust. She’s the most evil female character in the show.

In the movie Sacred Star of Milos, the movie villain Atlas has two transmutation circles on his palms, one for lightning and one for ice. Does anyone have a more clear image of what they look like? The best I can find is this one image https://i.ytimg.com/vi/cSm8TKOH1oM/maxresdefault.jpg. and the other one right here

About a year ago, I was fired from my job and took up sourdough as a hobby to keep my brain from focusing on my unemployment. I named it Colonel Rye Mustang on a whim because, I mean, who doesn't love the Colonel? Then I thought it would be funny to post almost every day to see if I could get a comment from Travis.

This was literally just a fun thing I did cause I love baking. I didn't really promote my Instagram anywhere and wanted to see if anything would happen.

I know this is barely tangentially related to FMA, but my love for the series is what started these videos so I just thought I would share. Mods, I understand if this gets taken down.

Most of us would say equivalent exchange because of the edits but I personally don't like it because the point of the ending directly disproves it some drills it into your very soul (03 makes me cry and NOT INT HE SAME WAY AS BROTHERHOOD LET ME TELL YOU.)

Mine is winry saying "hov about I just give you my whole life?"
